The phone calls

"Mom where are you? By now I was suspecting that you may have been kidnapped." I yelled.

"I'm fine Eva and please don't call the police this time, they may ask me to hand you over to the services this time. I'm kind of busy so don't worry about me. How does it go with the librarian." She asked and I snorted. I may have called police on countless times when she goes missing and they visited us on many occasions when my mother set our house on fire.

"Mom you are so bad, what did you do to that poor woman?" I questioned with a laugh.

"Nothing, She is just easy to tease. Money is at usual place. Do get yourself something to eat. Don't just pay attention to the books now." She berated me.

"Okay Mom, Paige told me that coming of age party is kinda bigger then the normal birthdays. Can Jake and Paige come to the party?" I asked.

"Sure why not and yes it is going to be big. I hope that I can shrink it down a bit but that woman is getting on my nerves." Oh now who is it that is controlling my birthday party without my Mom's permission. This is getting interesting.

"Who is it Mom?" I inquired

"That horrible witch of women that came to the house asking about the magic blast you created, the Elder lady." She said.

"But what does my birthday have anything to do with her? I don't think I have met her before in my life. Who is she inviting and Why?" I asked her because I don't want to meet anyone yet.

"She is inviting about every single supernatural higher up just to show you off. Stupid move. I don't think most of them show up so don't worry about meeting other people. I'll try to contain this madness as much as I can. You just pay attention to your studies and health." She reassured me. I just hope she is right.

"Don't worry Mom, it's going to be fun to see her face if the birthday girl wouldn't show up. Come home soon. Goodbye Mom." I hanged up the phone.

Seriously this is not going so well. I don't want to face the people from my past. I know that he will not show up. But still there is a lingering fear somewhere deep hidden inside me that tends to show his ugly head at uncertain times and vampires have the inbuilt radar to notice it.

I called Paige next because last call made me more uncomfortable then I already was. She picked up the call but didn't speak.

"Hello, Paige, you still alive yet." I asked. I hoped everything is alright with her.

"Hmm, I'm alive and well no thanks to you. Why did you called me in the middle of night." She said in a grumpy voice.

"I had some questions regarding weres so I thought you might be able to help me. Is your pack keep the Were history?" I asked.

"Yes I'll try to help you. Yes my pack keeps the history of all the Weres. Be we are biggest pack ever and rule over all the other Weres, but no you can't see or read it because only Weres are allowed." She replied.

'Damn' I muttered.

"Then how am I supposed to know that everything written by the witches in the history book for Weres are true or false? There is no reference book either and I have lots of questions." I grumbled.

"Hmmm,..." She seems to be thinking.

"Wait let me talk to Alpha first. But I can't guarantee that I'll be successful so don't get you hopes up." She replied.

"Okay, oh yeah how did it go with Jake? Did you ask him out yet?" I asked enthusiastically. I really hope these two can get their happily ever after.

"Ohh Yes, I did and he said yes. At first he was very shocked as you know I never asked anyone to come over to my house 'for obvious reasons' and never got close to him before. But then he gave me such a charming smile, I melted right there and then. If we hadn't been at a public place, I might have jumped him." I can see her goofy smile from here.

"Eww, TMI Paige. TMI, don't say that kind of stuff about Jake to me it makes me nauseous. Eww." I made made hurling sounds just make my point, which made her cut off the call.
