Chapter 66 - Returning 4

Nixie summoned the ice golem while me and Jan run towards the opposite direction of the green knight.

Obviously we won't confront that man since he was powerful. The man was surprised but returned his calm immediately.

We didn't even managed to take several steps before the ice golem was sliced by half. I and Jan was shocked, and stopped at our tracks.

I can't believe that my ice golem was destroyed by a single slash. I was hoping it can withstand some of the green knight's slashes but look and behold, it got destroyed by a single slash.

"Don't even try to escape anymore. My time is being wasted by the both of you doing unnecessary things. You won't escape from me even if you try a hundred times." The man said while walking towards us.

I had a worried face while Jan did exactly the same.

"Jan try to run while I distract them." I whispered to Jan.

"But I can't sacrifice you." Jan retorted.

"Don't worry about me and just go." I said to Jan while making some ice spears to attack the green knight.

"But-"

"Just go already!" I shouted at Jan. He nodded while running.

"Trying to escape? That's futile!" The green knight said while going after Jan.

I stopped him by making a giant ice wall but it was destroyed by another single slash. He then dashed and run towards Jan. I stopped him again by making another ice wall. While I also made ice spikes to stop him in his dash.

"You're annoying!" The green knight said and instead of going towards Jan, he went to me.

Jan was already at the edge of the knights' circle and tried to escape.

"Nixie, help Jan escape." I said to Nixie. She nodded and did her best in restraining the other knight. Soon Jan got out of the encirclement and ran up to the mountain while giving a quick glance at me.

"So much time will be wasted because of you! I'll just kill you then and just take the other assassin back." The green knight said angrily.

I didn't reply but instead focused on distracting them. I then created as Mana ice weapons as I can and barraged the knights with them. I unsummoned Nixie and took her inside my body.

But the green knight was strong and was in front of me the next second.

"The person who killed you is called Mark. Remember my name before you die!" The green knight said while giving a slash.

I felt pain all over my body. Blood was gushing out of my body and I can even feel my mouth full of blood. This is the first time I felt this much pain. I turned my Pain Immunity on to make this feeling go away.

I fell to the ground while I saw Mark and the other knights leave me alone on the ground. They went to the direction of where Jan left. I can only wish for Jan's safety until I blacked out.

The next time I opened my eyes, I felt something warm going to my body. It then healed my body, it was starting to heal my wounds and even the deep slash that Mark gave me was starting to heal.

It lasted for a minute until all of my wounds was healed but I felt weak all of a sudden. I looked at my status and I can see that my attributes has been lowered.

This was my plan. I didn't really intend to sacrifice myself for Jan but it was the other way around. I sacrificed Jan for my own safety. I know that we're going to die at that situation so I might as well die but I have a life saving skill called 'Four Lives'.

I did die but I was resurrected by my skill. I can't shake the feeling of hate towards that Mark guy. My attributes was lowered and I can see that the multiplier turned into 3 from 4. My attributes went down by a large margin now.

I don't plan to follow the other knight's yet but instead I plan to stay here in the mountain for a 2 weeks. I need to be assured that the knights are gone before going down the mountain.

I might feel guilty by doing this but my life was on the line. I can only bring this guilt with me. When I'm strong enough I'll try to save Jan but for now I'm far to weak so trying to save Jan now will only lead me to my own grave. I'll just say this to Blake when I returned to the Guild and he might even save Jan somehow. Besides Mark has said earlier that they plan to take Jan back.

I summoned my 5 shadow clones while also summoning Nixie.

"Why did you suddenly unsummoned me back there? What if you died? If you die, I'll also die!" Nixie complained but I only gave her a pat in the head.

"Well I did died but was resurrected again." I said to Nixie.

"Don't do that again!" Nixie said with an angry expression.

"Alright." I replied plainly while Nixie took a seat at my shoulder.

"Let's hunt for now and gain some levels." I said to Nixie while commanding my shadow clones to surround me.

We hunted for the whole day while looking for a place to hide and rest. It was easier now compared to before since I have many helpers now. Even if my attributes has been lowered by a huge number, I can still manage it by using my shadow clones.

I also summoned some ice minions to help me. I have already summoned an extra 10 ice minions to help me. I didn't summoned large quantities since it will just attract large amounts of monsters.

Soon we found a cave and only a group of bats live there. They were weak but was many in numbers. The bats was leveled between 150 to 200.

I then used 80% of my total mana to make a huge amount of water while mixing poison with it. I made those water go to the cave, making the cave be full of poisoned water. I then enclosed the cave's entrance by making an ice wall.

I didn't enter yet but waited for 10 minutes before opening it. When I opened the cave, water gushed out and left the cave empty with no more bats.

I went inside the cave and enclosed the cave by making an ice wall. I then made some ice bed, ice chairs, and ice table.

"We'll rest here for 2 weeks and then continue to get down this mountain." I said to Nixie.

"Alright, don't unsummon me this time. Wait for us to get off this mountain before unsummoning me." Nixie said while going to the bed.

"If you say so." I replied.

I then ordered my shadow clones to go out and hunt while I left my ice minions to go outside and guard the cave by 20 meters around it. I don't want any living being coming here since I'm still worried that the knights might come back.

I looked at my status and I can only sighed when looking how weak I was. It will take 5 years to regain a single tail so I can only wait for that time to come to return back my actual power.

I laid at my bed and slept quickly. I was so tired that my eyes just suddenly blacked out.

I woke up in the morning looking at my status. 2 of my shadow clones have died while 7 of my ice minions died also.

I then summoned another 7 ice minions while ordering it to do the same thing the other 3 remaining ice minions did.

I was now leveled 196 while Blite was level 199. Blite might evolve today and that would be great news to hear.

The good news from this level up is my Ice Minion Summon and Ice Heal has evolved.

My Ice Minion Summon has turned into Frost Minion Summon now.

Frost Minion Summon (Level 1):

Summon ice minion and ice knight that will follow your every command. Attributes of the ice minion will be 35% of your attributes while the ice knight will have 50% of your attributes.

Cost: 5% of MP per ice minion summon while 20% of MP per ice knight summon.

I just noticed that my Ice Minion Summon has evolved and I can now summon this thing called Ice Knight. I didn't bother summoning one since it won't be much of a help when I do summon one.

The next thing I looked up is my Frost Heal.

Frost Heal (Level 1):

Can heal yourself and even others by using ice. Amount of heal is dependent of 60% your Wisdom attribute.

Cost: 1% MP per use.

Nothing much have changed from the skill. I didn't mind the skill but looked at my other skills. My Advance Gauntlet Arts has leveled up by 3 levels making me surprised.

This must be because of the 2 shadow clones that died and passed there experience when they were both alive. I felt that I was the one who hunted last night and not my shadow clones.

This new upgrade from the Shadow skill is really helpful for my skills training. I planned to just stay here and wait for me to level up.

I can live without food for three months so I plan to just stay here while feeding Blite sometimes.

The little guy's skill also leveled up. Nothing much changed from his skills except for his shape shift skill letting him transform into a frog.
