In a joint fleet of ships, my vessels were at the outskirts of the fleet and scanning for enemy contacts. I chose to volunteer for this as our technology was superior in a lot of ways whilst the Imperium's ships were a tad fucked up by the Daemon incursion previously. We were moving slowly as the Imperium ships were currently repairing some hull damage and repairing atmosphere. It would take another ten minutes from now, so we were all waiting around like sitting ducks.
This continued for several minutes as our scanners began to beep. A vessel was cloaked in the midst of space and was slowly circling our spatial plane within space.
"Supreme commander, we have detected what seems to be a Dark Eldar Craft... Orders?"
"Destroy it."
Without hesitation the two front ships of my 10 vessel fleet moved to intercept, the weaponry coming online and aiming towards the Dark Eldar ship. They seemed to be taken off guard as they immediately tried to run away, unfortunately for them I was not so benevolent as to let them escape. A comms link from the The Indomitable Fury requested information on the movements of my vessels, I just replied with a simple: ' " Watch " '.
In less than a minute my ships had started to engage the Dark Eldar vessel. Now, my ships were technologically powerful and rugged, a lot of survivability mixed into them, but this was still an Eldari vessel, one with untold millions of years of technology backing it up. The Dark Eldar ship opened fire, revealing itself in desperation as my two ships quickly began to engage the large vessel. Purple arcs of energy punctured the darkness of space, meeting the Void shielding of my vessels and ultimately the ultra-hard hull plating, the shielding doing very little to prevent the Dark Eldar weaponry.
Tanking the hits my ships quickly started to rain neutronium blocks through the countless railguns on the ships' exteriors. The neutronium rods sparkled through space as a bright blue glow shone off of them. The ships started to pivot around each other as secondary energy weapons and plasma beams opened up. Rods sparked off of the Eldari shielding as some perforated the vessel causing large holes to emerge in hull plating. Plasma beams and other energies struck the hulls of my ships. An entire section of the outer plating was stripped and torn off as the residual energy started to lightly infiltrate the internal electrics. The remaining vessel on my side resorted to using the Graviton cannons, those weapons actually tearing apart the Dark Eldar raiding vessel, piece by piece until there was nothing left. The entire fight lasted nearly five minutes as the ship on my side that was struck quickly regained operations and started to come back to the main part of the fleet.
"Report."
"Supreme Leader, we have suffered some minor injuries and a few major but nothing lethal as of yet..."
"Good, prioritise the well-being of the crew, stay in the centre of our formation until every crew member is patched up and able to work again."
With a quick affirmation the captain of that vessel disconnected the call and moved to the centre of our formation. The other ship was in high spirits, being the ones to first take out an enemy vessel in Warhammer. A quick command to the captain of their ship and all of the crew would have a beer on me, payed by the Government, including a week's worth of wages. My entire fleet was elated and looking forwards to future campaigns, with other possible rewards.
...
After waiting for the repairs of the Imperium ships we finally summoned up the wormhole drives' power and created an instantaneous link between our exact position and the spatial coordinates of Redna.
There were some question in relation to our ability to detect the Dark Eldar ships and also some questions asked about our weapons technology but ultimately it was scrapped as the Sister Superior interjected and apologised for the emphatic nature of the Tech Priests on the vessels; they had taken control of the comms array and communicated with us.
Instantly we emerged above a tranquil looking planet with bright glowing lights, indicating the presence of a modestly advanced civilisation on the surface of the planet. This was further enhanced by the massive, visible, cities that sprinkled the planet's surface. Massive spires and Hive cities puncturing the clouds and sprawling across planes. I smiled at the view and remembered the child-like fascination i had with Warhammer 40k, where the Humans battled the Xenos and Heretics in a never ending war for peace, at least that is what my young mind had conjured...
Now, i get to explore it... And it was certainly more intense than i expected.
(Author: Sorry for the short chapter, i thought I'd let you guys have some content a bit earlier... I'll post more later today, good night/day!)

Hope you enjoyed! Please let me know of anything from Warhammer you would like to see, I may or may not add it... Also, I do not own Warhammer 40k or Warhammer, I only own the characters that I have personally made. Second of all, I do not claim to have 100% knowledge of Warhammer 40k law, if I get things wrong please understand that this is a fan fiction and that it is possibly an AU... Thank you all once again.
