Queen, Please Let Me Die!

Within an exquisite white hall.

A handsome man muttered to himself, "I transmigrated?"

His name was Sous. He was originally an Earthling, but he had somehow transmigrated.

Reading the memories of the Host now, Sous slowly comprehended the new world he was in.

The country he was currently located in was called the Skalan Empire. It has been said that the Empire looked strong from the outside, but was actually weak, worn down by both internal conflicts and external threats.

Under such circumstances, the insignificant Orcs people of the Skalan Tribe, suddenly rose up to power. Under instigation by the Holy Land, the Skalan Tribe used their influence to suppress the Skalan Empire.

The Skalan Tribe itself occupied the Skalan Forest, which was located right beside the Skalan Empire. People from the Holy Land lay low within the forest, offering help to the Skalan Tribe. The Skalan Empire was thus besieged from all sides, and there was no way of escape.

Anyone could see that this was the Holy Land's attempt to kill by the hands of a third party, without lifting a finger of their own. They were able to command the Skalan Tribe to attack with just a few words.

The current dictator of the Skalan Empire was an empress, Kati.

Sous was her personal attendant. It would be more accurate to call him a pretty boy. Firstly, he had no ability to protect the empress. Secondly, he was of no function, other than being a freeloader.

Realizing this, Sous broke out in a cold sweat. He did not want to be entangled in this mess. In his previous life, he was just an ordinary person who lay flat1. Since he was now stuck here after transmigrating, and there seemed to be no cheat codes in this current life that gave him an advantage. He wanted no involvement whatsoever.

"A battle for the throne, and a war between nations. I'm not participating. Run!" These words formed within Sous' mind. If he did not escape, there would only be death.

However…

The next moment, Sous looked up in surprise.

Ding!

"This voice!!!" his excitement peaked.

"It's coming!" Sous was so astonished that his whole body trembled. If not for his surroundings, he would have let out a yell.

After reading the instructions given by the system, Sous had a strange expression on his face.

The system only presented him with a few words: Upon death, he would be invincible!

Below the information given by the system, there was an added explanation. After the host died, he would be able to inherit the power that would allow him to defeat the entire universe.

It was a simple set of instructions, but particularly, death had to be reached in a certain way. One could neither commit suicide, nor kill oneself in any sense.

Sous could not help but be pleased.

Just this?

If he wanted to die, it would be easy. This was equivalent to giving him an invincible ability for free.

Complete it, and that will be all!

As an ordinary human in this world of swords and magic, he could be killed even just by being on the streets at night.

Right at that moment, Sous' gaze fell upon the minister seated at a nearby table. At the head of the table sat the empress, Kati.

Sous would always accompany the empress at these conferences, although all he ever did was stand in the corner. This time round, it was slightly different. There were more people standing around in the main hall .

The atmosphere in the air was exceptionally solemn and tense. The empress herself seemed to be ready for battle.

"The Skalan Empire has been invaded by the tiny Orcs Tribe, and the Holy Land played a huge part in it." Sous sighed. The power of the Holy Land was extremely terrifying.

Every country knew the ultimate purpose of the Holy Land. They wanted to exterminate any sources of instability.

The Holy Land was aggressive in its methods. Their people made use of the Skalan Tribe's Orcs to kill. When the Orcs themselves were wiped out, the Holy Land would continue to manipulate other forces for their subsequent attacks on the Skalan Empire. Eventually, when the real powers of the Holy Land arrived, the Empire would have no power to resist.

The Holy Land was a place for swordsmen and mages to gather. Although there was no lack of swordsmen and mages in the Skalan Empire, they were still of no match to those from the Holy Land.

So what if Kati was the empress of the Empire? In the face of absolute power, she could only lower her head in defeat.

Within the hall, Sous could hear the sounds of battle outside. They had only been fighting for a day, and yet the Skalan Empire had already fallen into a disadvantageous position. If they continued, they would only end up being crushed.

The people from the Holy Land were extremely overbearing. They came down with their troops and demanded that the Skalan Empire surrender. Only then could Empress Kati protect the people of the Empire and call off this war.

Could the war really be called off?

No one was a fool. The Orc race was the future of the Skalan Empire, but they would receive the same treatment. They would be sent to attack other empires, and there would be no way to avoid it. The casualties would still be the Skalan Empire's people.

Although they understood, many still preferred to live. The ministers at the table were all mentally prepared. None of them dared to go against the Holy Land's intentions.

Everyone — from the citizens, to the army, to the ministers — all were clear of what was happening and what the Holy Land wanted.

Sous' gaze fell upon the swordsman commander standing on one side. This was the empress' personal bodyguard, now in his fifties. He had also been the late emperor's guard, and was now protecting the empress.

"Chief Swordsman, does the Skalan Empire still have a chance to counterattack?" Sous asked quietly.

Hearing this, the swordsman commander smiled bitterly. "The Divine Dragon, the Protector of the Skalan Empire, is asleep. The empress is unable to wake him."

It seemed that only the Divine Dragon could resolve this calamity, but it was unable to be relied upon now. They were in a helpless situation. After the late emperor had passed on, the Divine Dragon had fallen into a deep slumber and had not woken up since.

During this meeting, it was understood that upon contact with the Holy Land, one careless step would rape Skalan Empire of its future. Even if the Divine Dragon were to be awakened, it would be useless.

The commander sighed. He had watched the empress grow up. She had only been an empress for less than five years, but now had to experience her empire being invaded. Would she be able to see it through?

After comprehending all of this, Sous looked straight out of the hall. A few figures were approaching. They consisted of strong and barbaric beastmen, as well as people wearing battle armor and holy white clothes.

It was obvious that they were not here with good intentions.

When Sous saw them, his expression changed. If he had been a salted fish2 in the past, things would be different now. He was eager for someone to kill him.

This was his chance.
