PRINCE INCOGNITO

"Do you really want to accompany me?" Asked the young man sitting under the banyan tree near the burial ground while he addressed the eighteen-year-old young girl, who was silently standing before him.

"Yes. As your wife, it is my duty to follow you wherever you go. I assure you that I won't be a burden," replied the girl, her beautiful features covered beneath the opulent red ornamented attire, her tone stern while her head remained low.

"You would never become a burden to me. We are merely engaged and you still have the choice to lead a happy life with your family by disregarding our marriage. You should consider it. How could an unlucky prince, who lost the entire clan right before the marriage day be able to protect you?" questioned the young man, Eric Lionheart while letting out a sigh.

Eric was trying his best to persuade her to leave him, he wasn't willing to burden her with his difficulties. Just before their wedding, the Shaw clan, who ruled the north, attacked their clan. And because of the addition of a new Immortal Sovereign in their family, the Shaw clan was easily able to take down the Lionheart family, almost annihilating the entire clan. 

Now, the entire Shaw clan was looking for the Prince of the Lionheart family, Eric. 

In general conditions, they wouldn't have been bothered if a prince of a losing clan had escaped, however, Eric killed the Shaw clan prince in the war, hence he was now their mortal enemy, in addition to that Eric was a Mortal Sovereign. 

If he were to master his Dao, Eric would be able to step into the Immortal Sovereign class, which would make it almost impossible for the Shaw clan to survive in the future. That was why the Shaw clan had issued a bounty in all the nine realms for Eric.

"You are my husband. If you can't protect me, there is no place for me to live in these nine realms." Thea replied as she lifted her head to look into Eric's eyes with a strong resolve in her decision.

Inside this small pearl-like bead that was in his hands lay countless fortunes and unimaginable wealth of the Lionheart family that had been stored for generations. 

Walking close to her and placing a set of ordinary clothes that were worn by the mortal class, in her hands, Eric said, "Change into these. From tomorrow onwards, we will live our lives incognito. I promise that when I become an Immortal Sovereign, you will be my queen and will sit on the Lionheart clan's family throne." 

Eric vowed in a heartfelt tone as he placed the ordinary-looking clothes in her hand. 

Having trained in all sixty-four forms of Art since childhood, Eric was adept at living as a commoner and hiding from the world was not a big task for him. However, all he was worried about was his wife, Thea. She had grown up as a delicate flower inside the royal halls of the "Kin" clan, known for their magic and alchemy skills. But because of his misfortune, she was also going to suffer a low-key life from tomorrow.

Under that dark shade under the banyan tree where one won't even be able to see their skin, Eric shed his prince clothes that had been soiled with the blood of the enemy clan, before changing into commoner attire. 

Tears welled up in Thea's eyes as she observed the wounds on Eric's body and remembered his image as a graceful prince when he had visited her family and won over everyone with nothing but a swing of his sword. 

"Why are you still standing like that? We don't have much time. The sun will come out in the next hour. If you feel shy, I will turn away," Eric urged after he had finished removing all of his ornaments and had changed his appearance to that of an ordinary civilian, completely different from his usual one. 

"No… it's not like that. I… I don't know how to wear these types of clothes," she responded weakly, trying to avoid eye contact with Eric while her cheeks became flushed red with shyness.

"Give them to me. I will help you," Eric offered as he took the clothes from her. While undressing her with his own hands and assisting her in changing, he began explaining the details to her about their hideout.

"Just a few miles from here, we will enter into the domain of the Clark clan. They have a family sect that is run by the noble society of the Seventh Realm. Your task is to join as a sect disciple." 

"I will find a job and stay in the same clan. Remember, no matter what happens, you should not reveal our identities. If things go wrong, don't hesitate to save yourself first. Do you understand?" Eric asked, standing just a few inches away from her face.

He could feel the allure of her snow-white skin at such close proximity, but his gaze remained focused on her eyes, waiting for her reaction. Meanwhile, his hands continued to move skillfully as he adjusted the robe around her waist.

"Understood," Thea replied, managing to control the shyness that was creeping onto her cheeks. 

Before taking a step apart from her, Eric placed a small ring in her hands. 

"This ring contains enough resources to aid you in your training. In the future, you will be the head of the Lionheart family, so, train well," Eric said before deciding to depart from the burial ground as the darkness started to wane with each passing moment. 

"Wait…" Thea cried out suddenly as her heart started racing. 

Turning around with a questioning look, Eric raised his brows.

"You… your appearance. I have a method to change it. Using a mirage potion to conceal our real face is not a good idea." Thea said hurriedly.

Eric walked back before standing at a close distance from her.

Understanding his intent, Thea overcame her shyness before taking a step closer to him and used her fingers to touch his facial meridians.

"How do you want me to change your appearance?" She asked after feeling the warmth of his breath.

"Ugly. People ignore ugly faces. Just do it," Eric declared in a stern tone.

Even though her heart was reluctant to do this, Thea used her KIN family technique to alter his facial features. And in just a few minutes, Eric's handsome face had turned into a mosaic with several pores, and colour patches. 

After a brief exchange of words, the prince and his wife started walking towards the Clark clan in hurried steps. 

One cannot hide a glowing spirit among the dead spirits; let's see how this prince lowers his pride after being humiliated by a third-rank clan. 

With his strength, he can annihilate this entire clan in a few minutes. But fate has turned him into a servant.
