Ch 27: The Rookie Tournament (2)

In the afternoon the room was a little less crowded like in the morning. As half of the participants were eliminated.

It was 2 pm in the afternoon. Mike was in a cafe eating some snacks. He was then able to meet the trainers that told him about this tournament. There name was Martina and Lopez.

Both of them said they were able to participate in the tournament, and was able to won pretty early. They were talking about some topics.

"Mike your opponent this time was pretty tough. I would have lost if it was me. But you are really a strong trainer. I think you have the chance of winning this tournament." Lopez said as he then being to gossip about verious thing he leans.

Form them Mike abel to learn about some trainer that was going to be tough. They also seems to use a Peak Rare Rank Pokemon in there match and easily won.

They were Henry, Luke and Sue. They also have pretty powerful Pokemon. They were would have been the top three if Mike was not around.

Mike being to look forward to this as he was rarely has a chance to compet in a even matchup.

Although the reward was not the thing he wanted. It was still good that he was able to get his hand on a dragon type Pokemon.

Altaria was traitorous Dragon. Its Mega evolution was of Dragon/Fairy. It also has Pixilate as ability. It was a killer of dragon type Pokemon.

He was looking forward to it. As this was going to be his first Dragon type Pokemon. Recently he was thinking of add a ghost type in his Disaster king team.

Ghost type of perfect for this kind of secretive work of Disaster king, so he will add on the team at some point.

With the Altaria, he will have most of the Pokemon type. Though he still lack Fire, Ghost, Normal, Ice and Bug types.

He will add them slowly. If he find something that he was interested he will add them on the team. Adding Altaria there was still 2 spot left for his Kanto Indigo team.

If he find something interesting, and his team was full for the time being. He can save them for his next regional team. He was thinking of using 6 Pokemon for every new region like Ash. But he would use them in big tournament unlike Ash.

There was some good news that he heard when he was talking to his family last night. He was told that Grandpas Breloom and Shiftry was Rank up and become Low Emperor Pokemon.

His mothers and grandmas some Pokemon able to rank up on stage. Grandmas Venusaur and Pidgeot get one stage and become Low Emperor and Low King respectedly.

His mothers Pokemon Golem, Nidoqueen Rank up to Low King and Ninetales rank up to Peak King Pokemon.

His father's Pokemon Nidoking become Low King Rank. His Pidgeot, Leafeon, and Gyarados become Peak Duke Pokemon.

With this his family strength has been greatly increase. He was skeptical about how they are able do become so fast.

He knows that he increase there chance to get to higher ran with his talent but they still need to practice regularly to increase the chance of advancing to the next Rank.

He then get the answer from his little sister, who tells him that they were practicing with there Pokémon regularly. So that's why they can advanced so fast.

Mike didn't know that because he tell his Pokemon to display there power at Peak Duke Rank.

So after seeing Mike Pokemon practice regularly and already at Peak Duke Rank. His family fell some pressure as even if Mike was away he can still make his Pokemon train and make them power with just online call.

They think that if they also didn't catch up some more. Also they felt that there Pokémon seems to break through there limit and release there hidden potential. In the recent years after Mike birth there Pokémon seems to be able to break through there next Rank quite easily.

So after there long time stagnance they finally decided to push themselves further than they even can.

With there new vigors the now trian there Pokémon some more and they felt like they go back to there hot blooded youths.

Mike then talk some more with his new friends. Then they also head towards the venue where the next round will be start.

After waiting some time, he was match against a trainer name John form Viridian city. The match was not very difficult as he only has a Low Rare Rank Pokemon and two Uncommon Rank Pokemon. He was able to finish them with just his Nidorino.

He was told the his next match will be tomorrow. So he start to head back with Martina and Lopez. They said they also stay in the Pokecenter.

They also get to the next round. The three and there Pokémon out, visit some restaurants to get dinner.

Martina was a Fire type specialist she come from Fuchsia city. She has a Ninetales with her, it was also a peck Rare Rank Pokemon.

Lopez was a ground type specialist come from Viridian city. He has a Marowak with his as his ace.

They then part way after reaching Pokecenter. Mike also feed his Pokémon for dinner. Then they get to bed for the night.

The next couple of round that took 3 days in total. He did face some promising trainer in those rounds.

He has fight about 9 match and today was the final match for him. Today he was going to fight on the first match.

The trainer he face up till now were mediocre. Until today, in the morning he face against a Mid Rare Rank Pokemon after 3 days. The match he was fight up till now were either Peak Uncommon or Low Rare Rank.

So facing again a Mid Rare Rank Pokemon was very entertaining. So for the day he has use Poliwhirl. It was now resting, he was going to use Nidorino, as he was not been able to fight powerful enemy til now.

The trainer he was going to fight today was name Tom. Who has a Mid Rare Rank Pokemon. So he was using Nidorino for this. The more exiting part was this trainer also using Nidorino till now. So what he was going to use is uncertain.

When Mike was going about his fight till now he heard the announcer announced his name.

"Welcome, ladies and gentlemen for the last elemination round among the participants. I am your host James Deen. After today was the last elemination round. If anyone can make it to the top 16. Everyone will be rewarded with some cash money. The told amount will be 10,000 for the top 16. 50,000 for the top 8. The 4th place will get 100,000 Pokedollars.

So please welcome participate of our first match. The Dark horse of the tournament who was able to dominate the whole tournament, Mike wood from Bright town. Then we have in the other corner, Tom Brady who was also a skilled trainer. So please give them a round of applause."

The crowd was clapping heard when Mike get in to the stage as he was now a crowd favorite.

"If both of the trainer is ready please send out your Pokemon at the same time." Side the referee.

"Go. Nidorino! I choose you!" Said Mike.

"I also choose you Nidorino!!" Said Tom.

"It seems we have a showdown between the same Pokemon. There was no advantage of disadvantage between them. Only the most skill and powerful Pokemon will win. In this it seems Mike was on top, because of his Peak Rare Rank Pokémon, and Tom only has Mid Rank. Who's going to win now is still not certain as we already have someone who win with a lower Pokemon in this competition." Said Jemas with mic in hand, as he was introducing the Pokemon.

"Nidorino start with Horns Attack." Mike instruct.

(For the convince the enemy Nidorino will be called Nidorino 2. As both of them was Male.)

"Nidorino, use Double team." Shouted Tom.

Seeing opponent Nidorino use Double team to dodge the attack. Mike have Nidorino use Toxic Sting to deal damage to all the enemy projectile's of Nidorino 2.

Then he uses Confusion to the real Nidorino 2 that Nidorino recently learned. This way it deal a good amount of damage to the opponent.

After being slightly affected Nidorino 2 use Bite. This attack hit Nidorino and deal a little amount of damage.

Mike then have Nidorino use Dig to get closer. The opponent then again Double team.

Nidorino then surface to hit the opposite Nidorino. But it miss because of Double team.

"Now use Double kick." Shouting Tom with a little smile.

Nidorino couldn't dodge and get hit by Nidorino 2s attack. Mike was a little impressed with there tactics. They make him come closer to use Double team to confused Nidorino then use Double kick as the trump card.

Mike then said," Nidorino use Rest to recover."

Hearing that Nidorino can use rest make Tom a little less excited. He then have Nidorino 2 use Horn attack to interrupt for Nidorino to use his move.

But this doesn't happen as every move of Mikes Pokémon was insaneous so Rest get use and Nidorino heal the damage.

Mike then use Confusion. This time Nidorino 2 really get confused. Mike have Nidorino give the final move.

"This was a great match. Now Nidorino finish this with a Horn drill." Mike said with a smile as Tom couldn't have Nidorino 2 dodge in time. Because of confusion Nidorino was able to hit Nidorino 2 with a powerful Horn drill.

This was a insta kill attack. As the Pokemon will faint if get hit head on. This type of insta kill move has low chance of hitting. So when Mike see the opponents Pokemon was confused he uses this move to finish it.

After the dust settles. Nidorino 2 has his eyes swirl. So the referee check and give the results." The winner of this match was Mike wood from Bright town."

With this Mike move on to the qualifier round of 16. The qualifier was tomorrow morning. He was going to stay some time to see his potential opponent.
