[How the fuck did it come to this?!]

"Stop panicking and focus, we need to get him under control!"

Both Nate and Kayden shouted at one another as the two were currently dodging the attacks of a large pokemon, a pokemon that was taller than Nate by a number of centimeters. The pokemon resembled that of a large humanoid bug with large claws and silver-plated armour, along with six arms, two of them being much larger compared to the others.

This pokemon was none other than Golisopod.

The pokemon that had evolved from Wimpod himself.

When they were about to finish their training and move on, Wimpod ended up evolving right after a battle against two gravelers that had entered into the area. However, Nate and Kayden were shocked when he started attacking them like a wild ferocious animal.

While it didn't happen in the games, they knew that it was possible for pokemon to sometimes go berserk after having evolved. This seems to be that very case as Golisopod literally has glowing red freaking eyes, such a common trope when creatures go crazy mad.

"The hell, he's literally learnt three moves! I know I shouldn't be complaining, but I really am at this moment due to the situation!"

[What are they?!]

"Well, the first one..." Nate couldn't finish what he was saying before Kayden was suddenly sent comically flying backwards by a number of what looked like small purple and white missiles that caused the spot where he was standing to blow up when they struck. Kayden ended up landing on his face... "Is Pin Missile..."

[Nah shit!] Kayden shouted. Though, his voice was a bit muffled due to still being on his face. Kayden then pried himself off the ground before quickly running back and glaring at Golisopod. [We may be allies, but I'm about to kick yo ass into another dimension! Also, why is he faster?! Shouldn't he become slower when he evolves?!]

"You're asking the wrong guy, I have no idea!" Nate gritted his teeth as he saw that Golisopod was about to send another attack towards them. They both prepared themselves as they saw him form some kind of sword of water. "That's Liquidation... Kayden, prepare yourself and attack with Iron Tail!"

[En garde, asshole!] Kayden shouted as he charged forwards and began to clash against Golisopod. Despite Golisopod having evolved into his current stage, Kayden was still faster. He may be stronger in the physical strength department, but Kayden was stronger in the special attack. Though, that didn't matter as Kayden parried most of Golisopod's swings and also dodged a number of them. [You're still too early to defeat me, young squire!]

"Knock him to the ground!"

Kayden quickly dodged another strike before rushing underneath Golisopod's claws before swinging his tail, striking both Golisopod's legs before he could use his four other arms to attack Kayden underneath. This caused Golisopod to stumble onto his knees.

"Finish him off with a powerful Thunderbolt!"

[It's time to sleep, buddy!] Kayden quickly began generating electricity as he jumped onto the top of Golisopod's body. His cheeks sparking as he then released a massive shock from his body while clinging onto Golisopod's shell. This caused the pokemon to cry out in pain for a few seconds. [My apologies, buddy. But you need to calm down!]

Kayden let the electricity continue for a bit before stopping as he jumped off.

When he did, Golisopod soon fell unconscious and face-planted onto the ground. Kayden just closed his eyes before walking up to the pokemon, making sure that he was actually unconscious. Nate walked on over when they could see that he was indeed not moving anymore.

Nate checked Golisopod's body and sighed in relief to see that no serious damage was done from Kayden's attacks. Even though Kayden didn't put absolutely everything he had into the shock, it was definitely enough to cause some real damn pain. Especially to Golisopod.

"Sure hope he calms the hell down when he wakes up..."

[Yeah, I really don't want to hurt one of my own allies, you know? Also, you said that he learned three moves when he evolved, I'm guessing the third move is First Impression?]

"Yep."

[Jesus... At least he has quite the arsenal now]

"At least it's peaceful now..."

[Yeah, it almost feels like paradise. As if God had stuck his finger in your belly button and started viciously rubbing it around every nook and cranny]

"The fuck are you on about?"

[Yes]

It only took around ten minutes for Golisopod to wake up, thankfully completely sane this time, and had quickly apologised to them for its actions. Nate and Kayden accepted it easily as they knew that evolution could have undesirable effects on a pokemon.

After having a bit of food, they quickly continued on their way as they easily made it out of the mountain within around fifteen or so minutes. After having done so, they continued walking as they were now nearing Cerulean City. The place where they will be getting their next badge.

[Isn't that Cerulean Cave?]

"Oh yeah, it is."

They suddenly stopped walking as Kayden stated this. Nate turned his head to see a small cave entrance located on the other side of the river they were passing by. While this cave was pretty much just outside of the city in the games, Cerulean City was still a few hundred meters away from this location.

Cerulean Cave was a location in the original games that could only be entered through when certain requirements have been met by the player, such as collecting all the badges and becoming the champion. This was done for good reason considering what was inside.

[You wanna go in?]

"What? Fuck no! Are you retarded?" Nate shouted dumbfounded as he glared comically at Kayden. Kayden just sweatdropped at the yell as Nate gave a small sigh. "I have no plans to go into that suicidal cave at the current time. In the future, yeah. But not the hell right now."

[Just a suggestion]

"A retarded one. Now let's get moving."

Quickly leaving Cerulean Cave behind, the both of them began jogging their way towards Cerulean City. It shouldn't be too long now since they were both quite confident they could jog the rest of the way without feeling too tired.

Since it hadn't even been an entire day now since Nate and Kayden had run into Ash and had ended up seeing him walking away after losing at the gym, Ash had most likely not yet beaten the gym and was still in Pewter City training in some way or something.

Just as stated before, they didn't take long before they finally arrived at the entrance to Cerulean City, and they could have sworn they saw a sign a few minutes back that said that Ash was a loser or something. Aside from that, they quickly entered the city.

[Is there really any point in us going to the gym? I doubt that the sisters in there will be any different towards us and would just trying to give us a badge] Kayden voiced as they walked through the city. [I don't exactly want to get a badge without earning it...]

"Of course not. We'll just use this time to train some more until Ash arrives with Misty, then we'll end up battling her for the badge." Nate shrugged. He didn't want to just be given a badge either, so might as well make use of the time beforehand. "How long that'll be, I don't know. But, we might as well."

[Sounds like a plan, where should we start?]

"Well, let's just go and challenge the Nugget Bridge after we get ourselves a room at the pokemon center." Nate suggested quickly. "That way we can both get some more experience in battling other trainers, especially Golisopod. I want to get him used to utilising his new moves as well."

Kayden nodded his head in agreement with this. The Nugget Bridge was something that all players ended up having to cross in the game to progress through the game. It wasn't exactly necessary for them to cross it now, but they might as well get some training in.

After they end up getting the badge here, they had already made plans to quickly leave towards Vermillion City to get their third badge. Maybe catching a new pokemon along the way since Golisopod isn't the best for it, though maybe they could train Golisopod to the point that even he wouldn't feel too threatened in the gym.

However, Nate wouldn't mind getting another pokemon on the team. He just hoped that they would be able to find a pokemon that he wouldn't exactly mind having. For now, it was time to get some training in before those slowpokes get their butts to Cerulean City!
