EPISODE 60: Red-Herrings? Perhaps Not!*

Circling around the room, Jenny began to recall things from her past. Her mind was troubled with deep thoughts which are only a fragment to solving the case of her family. Courtney's reappearance was merely a step and she believes the death of her father is somehow co-related to the death of her mother.

"Mom and dad were arguing the night dad told mom about his trip to Hoenn in the following morning. The way mother talked, she seemed worried and anxious. Is there a possibility she knows dad's true motives and did not tell us what really happened? Or am I missing something?" she questioned herself.

"She was trying to convince dad not to go to this region. It is either he told her or mother knew about what is to come, after all, she is a police officer. Dad, however, ignored mother's statements and persisted to go to this region. If I were to investigate, there are a lot of possibilities for the beginning, each leading me to different conclusions." she told herself again.

"I need more clues. I guess this means I have to focus on tracking down Team Magma and hopefully, try to bring sister back," she told herself for the third time, picking up a red marker from her bed and staring unto the large Hoenn map.

"Let's see what we have. What would be the best place for a Team Magma headquarters? Of course, it should be the type that suits their theme. What place suits their outfits the most? I see... Mt.Chimney should be the perfect place." Jenny slowly built her hypothesis as she encircled the place.

Despite the cold and harsh night, winds blowing vigorously, Jenny made the decision to go out and ride on her newly bought motorcycle. This time, she takes full precautionary measures in order to avoid another extreme accident. She was lucky she wasn't killed by the car who bumped into her.

During the time when the clock is near to the twelfth hour, she drove to the nearest town beside Mt.Chimney, Lavaridge City. Lavaridge Town is a small town in central-western Hoenn. It is located on the southern foot of Mt. Chimney. The town is well known for its hot spring and is a popular destination for elderly citizens.

She parked her bike beside the Pokemon Center and proceeded inside. There, she confronted Nurse Joy.

"Good Evening, how may I help?" asked, Nurse Joy pleasantly.

"I am Officer Jenny, and I was sent here by the Pokemon International Police to investigate something."

"Um... oh my, an investigation in the evening? Tee-hee, go ahead."

"I wanted to ask if you have spotted any grunts nearby? Team Magma to be exact."

"So the rumors are true? There is an evil organization lurking here?"

"Yes, and there are two of them."

"Well, there were only witnesses of strange people wearing red attire-"

"Ah! That's it! That's their outfit!" Jenny interfered. Hearing her voice, Nurse Joy gave a chuckle.

"If my hypothesis is correct, then that means, their headquarters is somewhere here. I must not give up now, they must be hiding somewhere yet again, I am pretty sleepy." She exclaimed to herself, giving a huge yawn afterward.

"Oh my, you can sleep at one of our rooms. It is free. You can stay as long as you want here in the Pokemon Center to complete your investigation." Nurse Joy offered.

"R-really? But I am already renting an apartment."

"Please, I insist. The night is getting deeper and you might get yourself into an accident. Don't worry, as long as your room is locked, no one will bother you." Nurse Joy added, winking at the sleepy Jenny.

"I-I guess. Thank you for your offer Nurse Joy, I'll sleep here for the night." Jenny smiled back delightfully.

To one's liking, Nurse Joy showed Jenny her room. It was entirely better than her room back in the apartment. Everything was flourished with a white color, tiles all clean and tidy. The bed is huge, blankets covered with vintage artistry. Jenny thought of moving in here but then again, the detective would be angry not to mention how many times she has rejected his emails and failed to send any reports.

Without any moment to waste, she jumps to her bed and takes a good night sleep. How she couldn't wait for the next day to arrive. It will surely be an investigation like no other.

My forte is mystery, and readers are definitely in for a shocking surprise at the end of the book. Yup, book not volume though there will also be interesting endings per volume.
