Autumn Davidius had spent the majority of her life adhering to the monotonous routine that characterized many adults with a nonchalant demeanor. Each morning, she would open her eyes to the bright light of a new day and proceed with her mundane tasks: brushing her teeth, taking a bath, and preparing for her unremarkable job. Occasionally, she would incorporate a workout into her routine to maintain her firm and sturdy physique.
Since she was twenty, Autumn had harbored dreams of leading a typical life, perhaps getting married and having a child of her own. However, life seemed to have different plans for her. One heartbreak followed another, leaving her disillusioned. Twelve years later, Autumn found herself at thirty-two, still single, which led her mother to suggest adoption as an alternative path to motherhood.
After days of contemplation and her mother’s persistent urging, Autumn finally decided to consider adoption. This decision brought her to Rain Ackermann, a young, timid boy with a mysterious past that had made others hesitant to adopt him. Despite her typically indifferent attitude, Autumn felt a flicker of sympathy and chose to welcome Rain into her life.
The journey ahead for Autumn and Rain was uncertain. They both had to navigate their new relationship: Autumn, with her detached demeanor, and Rain, a timid child with a history of autism. The challenge was significant, as they both needed to learn to accept and understand each other.
