Path Toward Infinity

'Where am I..?' That was the first thing that I though, I massage my throbbing temple and look around the place to see I was in a unfamilliar place.

It was daytime with the sun in blue sky, clear of cloud. I was in a forest, that's what I assume looking around the place to spot bunch of tall, thick trees and it's green leaves swaying being blown by the wind. There was also bunch of bush and weeds in the ground.

'Why can't I remember... anything.. except my name?' I though as I tried my best to recollect my memories before this but all I remember was my own name, Nate.

"Aghn..!" I let out a grunt as I felt headache. after a few minutes the pain subside, I then stood up and then though which direction should I go. After a lot of thinking I decided to go to the west direction and hoped my luck was good.

I tried to walk but my legs trembled as it was like a jelly and was like a baby, I don't know the cause of this so first I though of how to travel, then I got an idea, my idea was to use a support for the time being until my leg went back to normal, I then went to a nearby tree and lean on it and use it to take all my weight. I then walk like this for minutes even though it kinda was slow than walking normally.

Rustle..!

I panicked and was alarmed immediately as soon I heard the sound of the bush moving loudly, I gulped as sweat appeard on my face, I though my worst expectation that it might be a wild beast.

Rustle! Rustle!

I stared intently at the bush moving more quickly, until I catch a glimpsed of shadow that jumped toward me. My worse expectation came true.

"...!" My instinct took command of my body, I dodged the incoming unknown threat and jumped out the way.

Crack! Rustle!

The tree that I was leaning on earlier snapped into two as dust slowly spread in the air, I sucked in a cold breath as I stared at the tree that snapped into two with a shock and sweat visible in my face.

'That was close..' I though with relief. If I can see my face I know it will look white like paper.

"Graarr!!" A loud ear-piercing roar resounded in the air as bird was alarmed. I assume this roar belong to the beast that attacked me as I can't see the beast due to the dust.

'I need to escape...!' I hurriedly though as I quickly tried to run but then my legs give away as my leg was like jelly.

'S##t!' I cursed my luck as walk while pressing the tree next to me as support.

"Raar!" The same roar sounded in my back, I forced my leg to the limit as I felt dread appearing in my heart. Then I felt my back go heavy as pain quickly spread through all my body.

Boom!

"Gwaahh!" I groan in pain, I was sent flying until I stopped due to a strong impact in my back.

'Hell! T-there is no way a beast can have this kind of power...' I though dazely, my eyes was going hazy and mind sinking to darkness. I stared infront of me as I saw a hazy menacing two red glow and a playful grinning smile of a beast, slowly approaching him with its smile growing bigger and bigger.

'Strangely enough I don't feel scared...' I though as I praised my self not being scared.

'Sigh... I guess this is where I die... I-i still haven't remember my memories at all... I don't even remember my love ones face or do I even have one...?' I sigh inwardly and asked myself, a question that I cant even answer...

I slowly felt my consiousness sinking and my strength leaking out. I accepted my death.

'I guess losing my memories is not bad... I don't have attachment to worry about..' I though with a chuckle.

Then mysteriously somewhere deep within my mind a memory or a record played in my mind before my last death is what I though...

'Nate, what a weak minded you are.. I always said to you, to always don't give up and fight to the end.' A sweet and gentle voice said.

'Im sorry–'

This few words played In my mind was just so simple that anyone can hear but for me... when I heard this few words that was unknown to me, yet my heart is shaking from the famaliarity, I felt my spirit that already given up hope, shaken up and slowly standing up.

"I'm not gonna give up! never ever again!" I shouted without knowing, these word was not voiced by my mind but my heart.

A warm and gentle energy slowly spread from my stomach to every nook and cranny of my body, revilitizing my spirit and strenght appearing back to my body.

I moved my two arm as clutched the dirt on the ground and stood up. I stared coldly at the beast infront of me. Now that the strength went back to me due to the unknown energy, I can finally see the beast appearance.

It was a black wolf with dark-red menacind sharp eyes as it stared at me, a sharp teeth and robust large body.

"Grrr..!" It growled angrily at me expecting me to be dead already but was not.

'Now.. how should I kill this dog!' I though with anger brewing inside me, it was the one that almost killed him if not for the voice that result him into activating the strange energy.

'I don't want to run anymore, I will battle this dog infront of me! This will be my first step to my infinite path!' I though with resolve burning in my eyes.

"Graarr!" The wolf pounce with its thick claw ready to cut me into pieces. I dodged and then tried to control the mysterious energy flowing in me to see if my idea that it can enhanced my speed or power can be realised...

I focused toward my stomach while still paying attention to the wolf itself.

I sent my will toward the energy at my stomach to gather in my right leg and just like what I willed, the energy flowed and move into my right leg albeit a little slow. After the energy went to my feet, I felt it was strengthen dramatically, I also realised that it gotten consume the energy he have in the stomach.

Realising that I can strength my body with this unknown energy, I let out a small smile and though: ' It's time for a comeback! '
