Carnage ran like a red streak, moving toward the town of Houma of Louisiana. This was the current location of Swamp Thing. Reaching the town soon after, he moved through it and entered the house of Swamp Thing, next to a swamp, searching it, he noticed Swamp Thing wasn't home and decided to wait for him. Going through their kitchen, Carnage found some Pringles and sat on their living room couch, watching the news.
Suddenly, a flashback of the day he made my first kill. It was the same scenario. "Ahh~ The memories." Carnage muttered, relaxing in th chair.
It took less than an hour before he started hearing the keys opening the door. Looking over, he saw a huge man, around 6'6", with his body made of greens. Next to him was a light-skinned woman around the height of 5'7", with white hair, some black strands mix in there. She wore a red gown and locked arm with Swamp Thing.
Looking at Carnage, Swamp Thing immediately moved the woman behind him and asked, "Who are you!?"
Carnage looked pointed at the TV showing a picture of him. "The City of Gotham was almost completely destroyed by the Villain, Gotham. He was stopped by Batman, The Flash, and Superman before managing to escape. He killed millions of people and is now known as America's most wanted Villain."
"So they aren't going to talk about Superman helping me with the destruction. Wow." Carnage said, finishing the last of the Pringle.
Seeing the news, Swamp Thing knew this man was dangerous and got ready to fight. "What are you here for, Carnage." He asked, gesturing for the woman beside him, who is his wife named Abigail Arcane, to move away. This man is dangerous and fighting this man nearby to her, she may get injured, or worse, die.
"I am here to kill you." Carnage said, standing up and stretching.
In a blink of an eye, Abigail was now in front of Carnage, being held in a chokehold with his left hand and his right hand vibrating through her heart.
"What... Abigail!!!" Swamp thing shouted, about to attack.
"Nuh-uh. One wrong move and I will lose my focus, causing my hand to solidify in her heart, killing her." Carnage said, smiling lightly. "Be a good boy and listing to what I want and she will live."
"Don't listen to him, Babe. Leave me and run." Abigail said, shaking her head.
Swamp Thing smiled at her before looking at Carnage, "What is your demand?"
"Simple. Kill yourself." Carnage said, looking at him in the eyes. "I can do it myself but I just want to see you kill yourself."
"No, don't listen! Just leave me." Abigail shouted, begging Swamp Thing.
"Ok." Swamp thing said, his hand turning into a long spear. "Promise you are going to let her go."
"Don't worry. I am a killer but I have kept all my promise I ever made." Carnage said, assuring Swamp Thing then thought, 'Which is none.'
"Ok." Swamp Thing thought, piercing the spear through his heart.
"..." Carnage was speechless. He actually did it. "Well, that was easy. Holding someone loved one hostage is a great thing to do. But still, what if I killed her right now? I should just let her go, not as she can do anything."
Carnage let go of the crying Abigail who ran to Swamp Thing's body, slumped on the ground. One of the vegetation in Swamp Thing began to grow before slowly transforming into The Green in her avatar state appeared in front of him.
"How dear you!" A calm voice filled with rage erupted from her mouth.
"???" Looking at her, confused, Carnage didn't know what he did wrong.
"You killed one of my Avatars just so you can keep MY power forever? You are greedy, Carnage. A greedy fool." She said, outstretching her hand, green auras coming out his body and into her hand. "You won't be keeping this power anymore. Greed cost it." She said, her body turning into a leaf.
"Huh... Not like I used the power-" A sense of danger and looked over to Abigail.
Rotten flesh started falling off her body as they slowly formed a cocoon of rotten flesh around her. A black wormhole, leading to The Black, opened below her, a disgusting stench escaping from It, as multiply hands dragged her cocoon of rotten flesh into it.
"Huh. I just created something evil. Should I be proud?" Carnage mumbled, looking at the wormhole slowly closing.
He was thinking of entering but decided against it. Who knows what on the other side. Looking at Swamp Thing's body, Carnage felt something was wrong. Going up to the house phone, he remembered the phone number of S.T.A.R Labs and called it, someone immediately picking it up.
"Are you calling to get an appointment for an Interview?" A woman, whose voice he didn't recognize, called.
"Interview? Since when was S.T.A.R Labs hiring? I guess they are opening back up." Carnage muttered, before saying. "Put Felicia on the call."
"Who are you? An appointment is needed for that." The woman said, rejecting him.
"Huh." Handing up his phone, he went to his computer and did a quick hack into S.T.A.R Labs' security system, finding Felicia in an office alone and connecting to her computer. "Yo, Felicia. I need to ask you a question."
"What is it?" Felicia's asked, not surprised by the sudden voice of Carnage.
"Is Swamp Thing immortal?" Carnage asked, getting straight to the point.
"Yes, but actually, no." Felicia said, leaning back on her office chair. "Theoretically so long as there is some vestige of plant life anywhere in the universe, Swamp Thing will always have a vehicle through which to house his consciousness, rendering him effectively immortal."
"I see..." Carnage said, disconnecting and turning off his laptop. "Though he made a fool of me, he is more foolish. Why would he fake his death without telling his wife about his 'Immortality?' She became whatever she is because of his amusing stupidity."
"Though that power would have been obtainable if I just kept my Chlorokinesis, there is no need looking back. The power won't be mine anyway, which means I can lose it anything The Green wants, which isn't good. It is better I just keep using my ability to evolve and gain the characteristics of those I eat. At least that can't be taken away."
Standing up, Carnage looked once more at Swamp Thing's body. "Powers from an outside source are inefficient and easy to lose, except the Speed Force I mean. By the way, I see it, The Speed Force won't take back its speed unless the Speedster dies or they hurt the Speed Force. I am also an incarnation of the Speed Force, so I don't think j would be losing my speed ever..." Carnage said, walking out the door before remembering when his power was taken by Batman Gun. "Permanently I mean... Now, let's go hunt down Green Lantern for his time and head to Mars. I wonder how the Martins will taste."
