Their paths first crossed in a bookstore. She went there to find a book to read. He went there to meet someone. She was sitting in a corner table to be alone. He sat at the same table to get away from the crowd. When she recognized him, she was starstruck. He was unaware of her reaction. The second time their paths crossed was on the street. He was trying to lose himself in the crowd. She was lost. He was trying to find someplace to hide. She was trying to find her way. When he saw her, he was struck by how she handled her predicament.
