Parallel universe traveller

From the dawn of human history, humanity kept prospering in the field of education, medicine, weaponry, and modern technologies. These prosperities have only been possible through science which is at this state because of humans' thousands of years of struggle and hard work. Humanity enjoyed its golden age of science. But the progress of science and research didn't halt, it kept its smooth sailing. And as time went by, like other fields the researchers took interest in the field of time theory and a parallel universe. It has endless possibilities and potential and it is the most mysterious subject there is. It was at the end of the 21st-century when a duo of researchers published a journal about the time theory and parallel universe that spread all over the world and created wildfire.

< Year 2083, 3rd November>

Like any other day, it is a normal day for a certain lecturer. He woke up early in the morning, doing his daily and monotonous academic job tasks.

Ravi, a lecturer who teaches physics in a prominent college in the U.S. It has been 12 years since he left his country for higher education and settled after his graduation. Ravi was basically an orphan who grew up at the orphanage. He was very little when he lost his parents at the point that he doesn't remember their faces. As he was a talented boy his only way to overcome his misery and poverty was to study hard. He bore all the insult and pain for being an orphan and poor and paved all the way up until he is in this position right now.

Though he is a 37 years old middle-aged man he's still unmarried. He spends his daytime doing academic tasks and giving lectures to his students, and at night he immerses himself in doing research in his lab.

All the money he had earned so far, he invested in his research. So, he didn't spend any money on luxury goods, he felt it was just a waste of money. Many of his colleagues who were less affluent but ride on the luxury cars, buy high tech smartphones and other stuff. He pitied them, he thought they are just sacrificial lambs for the wealthy businessman who sell those products and squeeze money out of them. He was pretty happy that he didn't fall for their shiny honey hive. Well, this mentality of his, helped him being a cheapskate.

For necessity, he only built a 2 storied villa that also has an underground basement that is used as his lab.

After doing some miscellaneous work, he went to take a shower. It's gonna be a long day that he will be outside. So every day he wakes up early in the morning and finishes the trivial works. During his shower, he plans all the work he is gonna do the whole day. It's a super-efficient method for conserving time for him. After 20 minutes, he got out of the bath.

After a few minutes later, he got dressed and sat on a chair in the dining room. He pressed the ON button on the TV remote and the television started to play. He changed the channel to a news channel and started to take the breakfast that his cook robot just made.

There were all kinds of robots for doing household chores. As an unmarried guy, who didn't want hassle for cooking his own meal, these cook robots are blessings in disguise. He bought this robot for a high price when it was first released and he always kept tuned it in perfect condition.

He kept eating his breakfast while half-listening the news, but at a point, he couldn't help but stop eating...

Everyone who saw the two scientists through the television felt lucky as they are seeing the pioneer of the future generation.

But, unlike everyone Ravi's eyes were shot red, his body was quivering from anger, and cursed them loudly...

"Those bastards, damned thieves, leeches, that dog and that bitch..."

After cursing them for a while he turned off the television and got ready to go to college.

Before going out, he went to a room on the first floor.

*Knock, knock*

"Hey, Rickie. How long are you gonna sleep? It's already past nine. I am leaving for college.

Don't plan to sleep the whole day, at least take the breakfast. Do you remember when the last you had your breakfast?"

"Ugh!!! Just go already. Are you my mother or what???"

"This kid!!! When are you gonna grow up?"

"Boss, I'm already 25. The kids are the one who wakes up early in the morning like morning birds. The grown-ups like me are like nocturnal animals who venture at the night. Ha Ha Ha.."

"Okay, okay.....enough with your bullshit. I am leaving then."

"Hmm, take care, Boss."

He is Rickie the Rocker. Though the name seems to be funny as his personality he is a talented person. He is living with Ravi as his research assistant but Ravi thinks of him nothing less than his younger brother.

Then he got out of his house and headed for the college. His college was not so far away, it was only 1km. So he usually goes by foot, it is money consuming as well as it helps him as his morning exercise. After walking for about 10 minutes he reached college.

His college remains open from 9.30 A.M to 4.30 P.M. Like any other day, today, he did his usual work. He took the class, give instructions to the students, solved their problems related to their lessons, checked their answer sheets and so on. And at the end of the day, he was totally tired. Just when he was preparing to leave, an office staff came to him...

"Ravi Sir, there is someone who came looking for you."

Ravi was wondering who that might be. He didn't have any acquaintances beside his colleagues at the college.

"Okay, let him come in."

After a few seconds, a woman and a man who were in their mid-twenty came into the room.

"Are you Mr.Ravi who graduated in physics from the University of California?" The woman asked.

"Yes, that's me. And who you might be?"

" Hello, Mr.Ravi. My name is Jessica and we came from the SunMoon Online News Portal. "
