Chapter 7

(Before getting to the chapter, I will apologize that it is a short one, I ended up playing baldur's gate again before writing and ended up playing it for hours, currently it is 2:27 am and I feel like I'm going to fall asleep any second. The chapter won't be long so still not the fight, sorry about that, and hopefully tiredness won't make me create a shit chapter after not uploading yesterday. Anyway, I hope you enjoy)

In a dark room sat two figures, one of a woman and one of a man.

"Master, I still do not understand why you gave the phoenix pill to this man"

Said the woman, it is hard to see in the darkness of the room, but even then it was possible to see that she is quite a beautiful woman.

"Xiu Li, sometimes you need to learn to give up on something and take risks for a bigger profit."

Said the man, he was quite well built and the feeling he gave was of a rose, beautiful, elegant, something you want to get closer to, but if you do you will be stabbed.

(Yeah, I have no idea where I was going with it too, it sounded a lot better in my head but I will just keep it cause I'm way too tired to think of a different analogy. A better explanation would be a business man, he seems trustworthy, but could betray you in a second for a better profit)

"I heard from the guards that he is supposedly part of a clan composed of people that are able to turn into elements. Now, it might not be true, it might be a lie to hide a technique, I have seen it many times before, an easy lie to make because it can be hard to verify, and I'm pretty sure it is one in this case too."

This confused the woman greatly.

"If you know it is a lie, why are you supporting him? A phoenix pill is extremely rare to get, even money can't buy it in most cases"

"That is quite simple, call it a gut feeling."

This surprised Xiu Li greatly, in all of her years of learning from her master, it was the first time she ever saw him following a gut feeling instead of calculated thinking.

Seeing the surprised look on his disciple's face he continued.

"Xiu Li, I always taught you that following your gut feelings is stupid and is a path that will lead to your downfall. However, sometime this thinking might just cause the same thing, sometimes your gut will scream so loud that you cannot ignore it, it happens rarely, maybe even never in some cases, but when it does, follow it."

Xiu Li was getting confused.

'Than why did you always tell me to never follow my gut feelings?'

Oblivious to his student's thoughts, he continued.

"The moment I have seen this man my gut started screaming at me, "this man is special", I'm still not sure in what way, other than his unique technique, he isn't that special, honestly, he can even be said to be below average, a man his age without any cultivation whatsoever, the only reason he won so far is his technique and will, if it was a battle to the death, he would have been dead already, he is nothing special, but my gut tells me otherwise, it is telling me that there is a lot of profit to gain from being on his good side. That is why I gave him the pill, it is extremely valuable, and when he suddenly learns from a random pedestrian that we gave him the pill, he will feel goodwill towards us, it is a small price for a bigger profit."

Taking all of her master's words to mind and memorizing them in case they will be helpful in the future, Xiu Li looked at the clock.

"Master, it is almost time for the finals, who do you think will win?"

"James will win it"

"But Xiao Lin is a genus seen once every hundreds of years, she is skilled with a sword and is even close to becoming a celestial at such a young age, why do you think that guy will win?"

Getting up and walking out of the room, he answered.

"Gut feeling"

(Short and not about James, well, it is about him but he just wasn't shown in the chapter, I hope you enjoyed, I'm extremely tired so I will use this excuse if the chapter sucked, also a disclaimer, I'm no business man or a politician or anything, so most of the business, politics, science and more will be very low level, so I hope I won't bother people with it, but I really am not too good with those things, so I might make characters do stuff that makes no sense and the reason is because it made sense to me or it was the only thing I could think of, so sorry again for the short chapter, hope you enjoyed this and I hope it won't bother anyone, cya)
