Meeting Monkey D. Garp

After Luffy left the bar and Franco and Makino were hitting it off nicely, Alex decided to roam around the village as it reminded him of his hometown.

A couple of days later, while Alex was serving in Party's Bar, there was an old man who was wearing a suit with a marine jacket on. Alex recognized this man because this man is Monkey D. Garp the Marine Hero. 'But why would he be here in this specific village in the East Blue? A Vice Admiral doesn't just do rounds here especially since the East Blue is the weakest out of the four blues.' thought Alex

"What can I get you today Vice Admiral Garp?" asked Alex as he was filling in for Makino since she was currently with Franco.

"Huh? Who are you? And where is Makino?" asked Garp as he saw a new face in Foosha Village.

"I'm Alex and I would be filling in for Makino since she is away for personal reasons." said Alex

"Alright just give me whiskey on the rocks." said Garp as he was looking around. Alex got curious and asked, "What are you looking for sir?"

"I'm just looking for my grandson Luffy. Damn Shanks, he influenced my grandson to become a pirate and I'm here to set him straight so he will become a marine BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA." said Garp as he was looking for Luffy. 'So the kid I met just a few days ago, who was saying that his dream was to become the Pirate King, is the grandson of the Marine Hero. How ironic.' thought Alex as he was laughing in his mind.

"I've seen Luffy a few days ago, but I don't know where he went after that." said Alex

"Alright I'll go and look for him now. Thanks for the drink Alex." said Garp as he paid for the drink then left the bar.

After extending their stay to over two weeks due to Franco's request as he and Makino were growing closer since they spent the whole two weeks together, it was finally time to set sail again as Alex had gotten his much needed information from the people who come by the bar and certain merchants in the port.

When they were leaving, Makino said her goodbyes to Franco while promising to send letters to him every day and saying thanks to Alex for looking after the bar. While Luffy was sad as Shanks just left and now Alex was leaving too. They had grown closer over the two weeks because Luffy was listening to Alex's stories about the history of the world and the islands in it. Seeing Luffy's sad face, Alex patted his head which had the straw hat on and said "OY LUFFY! I'll be waiting for you." and smiled at Luffy as they begin to sail away from Foosha Village to the next island.

Luffy heard this and shouted back "ALEX! WAIT FOR ME! I WILL SURPASS YOU AND BECOME THE PIRATE KING WITH THE BEST CREW!"

Alex heard this and gave him a smile and nodded back at Luffy. He really was interested to see what kind of pirate Luffy would be and what kind of pirate crew he would form.

While sailing away from Foosha Village Franco asked, "Which island are we going to Captain?"

"Wallachia Island." said Alex as he remembered someone in the bar said that they found traces of the Devil Child hiding around there somewhere. 'Nico Robin, I'm finally going to meet you.' Alex thought as his feelings for the girl have grown over the years from pity to having small affection to full blown love as even the beautiful girls in the village don't interest him as he has already, unknowingly, set his heart on Nico Robin. He doesn't know that he has these kinds of feelings for her and would probably not notice these as he is a dunce and blockhead.

"Alright, Wallachia Island it is." said Franco as he is curious as to why his captain chose this island, but he quickly put his curiosity aside as whatever interests the captain, must be special. 'I'll know soon enough.' thought Franco as they continued to sail towards Wallachia Island.

A few days of travelling without meeting any ships and pirates was very boring for Alex since he wanted more bounties to fund his pirate crew. So he just picked a fight with the sea kings they encountered during their travels. This improved his combat ability on seawater as he was already training with seastone bracers on which improved his seastone resistance to 25%. This means that he will lose 3/4 of his combat ability when fighting on seawater.

"Until when are we going to sail Franco. I'm already itching for a fight or some action, you know." Alex said while he was laying on the deck of the ship.

"Just a few more days and we'll reach Wallachia Island." said Franco

After sailing for a few more days, they finally reached Wallachia Island. The island was full of trees and plants, as expected of an island whose main products are rare fruits and vegetables since the island is the only one in East Blue that has the environment and climate to grow it.

"Alright let's dock our ship and explore this island Franco!" said Alex as he jumped from the ship towards the port and quickly explored the island, while Franco was left on his own to replenish their supplies on the ship.
