Chapter 16 Choosing Sides

On the sea somewhere nearing the red line, a ship with a black anthem sails the waters carrying with it five passengers. A woman about 16 to 17 years old with long black hair and and silver pupils is sitting cross-legged on the deck, seemingly focused on something. Black lightning would flicker around here from to time.

A red-haired bulky man about 16 years old but is 10 feet tall, wearing a straw hat can be found on a training room sparring against a yellow haired woman that is about 17 years of old. The woman is 5 feet and 5 inches tall. It is hard to believe that both of this people are siblings merely from the height difference.

The man's fist would turn crimson while the woman would glow golden in color and strong shockwaves would be produced as two different fists would collide against each other. Exhaustion is evident on their faces but they did not seemed to mind as they both are still grinning towards each other.

On the helm of the ship, a grey-haired middle aged man is looking at his eternal pose while speaking on a den-den mushi. His face showed a rare respectful look, hinting that the person he is speaking to is rather important.

Most people aboard the ship is being busy one way or another, well most of them. Atop the tallest mast, a made-up hammock carrying a man with a relaxed smile on his seemingly asleep face. The hammock would gently swing at a very comfortable rythmn regardless of how the boat would rock due to waves or how strong the wind would pass by it.

[Oi. Why haven't you fully absorbed me?] a mechanical voice was suddenly heard inside his head but it did not break the man's relaxed expression as he continued to have a small smile while his hammock is swaying gently. "You will have your due purpose." he replied calmly while retaining the small smile he wore.

[And that is? I don't understand. The Seed of Yggdrasil will have the system operate normally regardless of whether me, the wisp of your past soul, exists or not. Absorbing me will only make you stronger] the voice asked in confusion.

"Don't ask too much question and just enjoy the breeze. See? it feels nice. " He said leisurely while enjoying the comfort of his made-up hammok. 'Man, fruit powers are nice. Especially this string-string fruit. I could pretty much have it do whatever I want at the same time I want it. Ah such convenience'

[You know, our enemies are entities beyond this universe. In fact, it is the creator of Reality and you know that.] the voice calmly reminded Jack the severity of the situation but the latter still had relaxed smile on his face. A string arrived from below carrying with it a cold and refreshing lemonade, Jack took a sipped and can't help but exhale a breath of satisfaction.'Ah this is life.'

"Heh. Now you know firsthand how an asshole yourself can be. Let's face it, your existence is a mistake." Mei's mocking voice interrupted the duo as she decided to tease the system. She sounded like she is joking but Jack and the system knew how bitter she felt inside. What he did to her is too much to be called a joke after all. "But it is as expected from someone who is worse than a psychopath at heart" she sighed.

"*chuckles* Now, you flatter me." the man in questioned just chuckled along with the system.

[Well, the Primordial Constants are your problem now so you do you, my G.] it said which caused Mei to be put in an awkward position. She wanted to gloat at it but now she turned out to be a joke in front of the duo. 'This two son's of bitches' she wanted to grit her teeth if she could but sadly, she does not have a body to do so.

Jack sensed what she was feeling but decided not to bother with it. He could not care less about her.. or even the system. There are only useful or useless people in his eyes, or soul for the matter. There was no swapping of consciousness from his past and the present him. He is still the Jack that was transported to another world, only now he is showing his true colors. After absorbing and digesting the memories he was fed with, he now had his plans for the future. A future for him and him alone. His other self can fuck off for all he cares.

He smiled at the thought. He looked below towards the small figure of Kana who was looking at him while blushing profusely. It seemed that the lemonade was owned by the little girl but Jack stole it. He waved his hands and smile at her which was the last straw as she rushed inside the kitchen fully embarrassed.

Yvve just watched the exchange with the usual stoic expression on her face. The man had been on her mind more than what she cares to admit. What she feels towards him was nothing short of annoyance. She wanted to bash his always smiling face if she could but sadly she is weaker compared to him. Another alarming matter is that her system cannot estimate his power level, Observation Haki does not work on him either and nor is her fruit powers.

Veins popped on her forehead as the Jack gave a nauseating smile towards her, the smile she loathes. She can't figure out what is so good about him that made Kana fell. 'She's weird too.'

*sighs* Yvve just shifted her attention towards her training. She wanted to have her Conqueror's be infused with her as soon as possible. Mastering Infussion is the gateway to learning Supreme King's Cloak. A technique that will boost one's strength towards Grandknight Level. The mere mention of the technique brought her thoughts once again towards Jack. The man, from what he has showned has not learned Ryou or Observation for that matter but he is stronger than her. 'His soul is too damn strong that it should be unfair!' the thought greatly frustrated her. This is the first time she heard of a soul so fatal that it is practically a cheat. *sighs*

The rest of the journey was rather uneventful for Jack and the company as they have not encountered any more sea bandits on the way. Kana, Joyboy and Yvve trained during the journey which bore great fruit.

Kana broke through with her mastery in both Armament and Observation, sadly she doesn't have conqueror's Haki. Advancing both Haki mastery to High-Average tier made her combat levels jumped to High-Knight level. Joyboy who was Peak-Average in two types of Haki finally advance his Color of Arms and Color of Observation into the Advance stage in Mastery Making his combat power at low-Grandknight level. His Conqueror's Haki, however, had little improvement at mid-beginner stage.

The one with biggest improvement however, was Yvve, she was supposedly at mid-Knight level but now she is in low-Grandknight level with her Armament Haki at peak-Advance state. Her Conqueror's however, had little to no improvement.

Now you may wonder how did they just advanced in combat power all of a sudden? The fight earlier should not help them advance that much. Well, the answer is Jack. Even Yvve's advancement is due to Jack. Having full control of the system, he used the old feature of the previous system(the one the same as Yvve), the Devouring, to suck in the whole lot of spiritual power of the deceased Scarface Sea Bandits and used them to enhance the crews' bodies. Why? Does he plan on raising the strength of his friends? No, far from that. In fact, he was contemplating whether he should just kill them or not. *chuckles* 'My thoughts tend to wander into such nonsense' he jested.

Jack pulled out a greyish ball of energy from the inventory. It looked like a slowly burning flame, no, it looked like a soul wailing in hopelessness. The ball was not spiritual power, it is something else. It gave a heavy melancholic feeling that plunged ones soul to the edge of abyss. 'Corrupted Will. Aura of Despair' He grinned. 'I'm sorry, old friend but this time, I decided to drown your world into chaos.' He looked far on the horizon, towards the setting sun. 'I am not choosing their side, I will equally destroy all of you.' He once again closed his eyes as he layed down on his hammock which started to sway in rhythmn. 'In this war of Supremacy, I decreed myself victorious.'

So I edited the Power System so one can have simple understanding about how they rise in strength.

Note: Fruit power and Conqueror's Haki will increase the user's power according to the power of fruit or Mastery of the Conqueror's Haki. Basically, depending on the power of fruit or Mastery of Conqueror's Haki, they may or may not skip a tier in terms of combat power.

Neofodder - Mastered very BASIC fighting arts like BASIC martial art or BASIC Sword art. To be considered fodder you have to be stronger than average people. Average people are ant.

Knight level

Low Knight- Neofodder requirements AND beginner level in both Haki

mid Knight - low - [Average] in two type of Haki

High Knight- High - [Average] in both type of Haki

Peak Knight- Peak [Average] in two types of Haki

Grandknight level

low Grandknight- Mid [Advance] in two types of Haki

mid Grandknight - Peak [Advance] in two types of Haki

High Grandknight- low - [Mastered] in two types of Haki

Peak Grandknight - Mid- [Mastered] in two types of Haki

Emperor's Candidate

Normal Emperor's Candidate [Mastered] Two type of Haki

Elite Emperor's Candidate [Mastered] Two types of Haki w/ Conqueror's Haki

Note: Only those with Conqueror's Haki can have the power level at Sea Emperor because having Three types of Haki is least requirement to earn the title.
