Naruto : Mizuki Reborn

" Haah.. it's finally over "

Mizuki slumped back as he watched the last student leave the room.

" What are you sighing about, you are a complete hit with the students "

Iruka said while pretending to be hurt as he rubbed his sore throat.

Catching a bottle thrown his way on instinct, Iruka showed an inquisitive look towards Mizuki.

" Yelling at Naruto seems to have given you a sore throat, you need it, drink up "

Iruka's lips twitched as he held the Ninja carry bottle and drowned it in one go, wiping his mouth with his sleeves he flashed a smile towards Mizuki.

Mizuki glanced towards the now empty 1 liter bottle silently and took it back with a harmless smile.

Like domino's that took Iruka's smile right off his lips.

" You, are you still not feeling well, shouldn't you like, you know, yell at me now? I drank all of it, you used to do it before... "

Iruka went off not finishing his sentence, he really didn't think it was a good idea to remind his friend, after all his friend had almost-

" Before I died? "

" Don't say it in such an easy way bastard!? You could have really died of that chakra exhaustion you know! If I didn't reach there in time- "

Iruka was cut off mid sentence as Mizuki started to simply walk away

" He-hey I am not done talking! You hear me get back here! "

Yelled Iruka as he chased after Mizuki, who has now comfortably stepped out of the class, catching up with Mizuki quickly Iruka tried to speak again as they walked towards what he can only assume is Mizuki home's direction.

" Like I was saying, when I reached you, you were there lying passed out on the bed, even your pupils had become the size of needles! I have seen enough to know you were dying... Mizuki! Listen to me!, Don't push yourself to chakra exhaustion again like that! "

Mizuki flashed a smile towards Iruka

" Even if I emptied all my chakra, you could have just carried me off to the clinics, I would have been just fine. "

A vein popped up on Iruka's forehead as he sees his iron buddy speaking of this situation so lightly, straining his already strained throat, he rained down on the grey haired man

" Jist fine?! You would have been just fine you say! No! If all the chakra was gone you would have died no questions asked! Clinic would have a very slim chance at trying to get you back from the dead! It's an emergency measure only! Shocking your heart with thunder style at best attempts at bringing someone back that has just die- stopped responding.. this is a emergency procedure you hear me! Hey were are you going "

Iruka attempts to catch up back with Mizuki as he started walking away faster.

Meanwhile Mizuki rolled his eyes as he thought

' So that's it huh, Mizuki would have lived due to Iruka getting there quickly, and getting incredibly lucky to get his heart pumping again from shock treatment, emergency technique like that was possible in my old chakra less world much less this one, he would have, if I didn't take over in that small window '

Fixing his walking speed as Iruka caught on, he continued his train of thought

' A chakra exhausted Mizuki was most likely rushed to hospital by Iruka in the original timeline where he should have lived on due to the quick thinking of his friend, though this does explain why the original Mizuki would have been so desparate now that he even went as far as stealing the book of seals in a month.. Weakness that you just can't overcome, even as you die trying... Not a pleasant experience.. '

Mizuki was snapped back from his thoughts as he was being Shaken.. hard.

" What is it Iruka? "

Said Mizuki with a smile, which like clockwork got two more veins popped up on Iruka's forehead

" Stop that! Take this seriously! I.. I don't know what I would do if I lost you as well... "

Mizuki didn't stop smiling, though he did smile even wider, not from seeing suffering but from feeling cared

" I see Iruka.. don't worry, I am a teacher too you know, I know what it means to exhaust chakra, we are quite literally exhausting both our vitality and soul, that's a pure dead end.. I know- "

Getting cut off from Iruka grabbing his collar Mizuki looked his friend in the eye as Iruka boiled

" Then don't do it again. Promise me. Mizuki. "

Letting the silence hang in the air for a second as passerby started noticing them, Mizuki finally made a surrender gesture.

" Alright alright Iruka "

Smiling he said in his best soothing voice

" I promise I won't do something like that again. I don't want to die.. not after I got to live again "

Though Iruka did find his friends wording a little weird, he was at least happy that he got through Mizuki, letting go of his friend's collar he rubbed the back of his neck as he laughed

" That's good! That's good... "

Iruka slowly stopped talking as he noticed the awkwardness around now that he had calmed down, quickly apologizing to the pedestrian he pulled Mizuki away quickly.

Running away a little further as people stopped paying attention to the duo, Iruka again began talking trying to forget the awkwardness he had just put both of them through.

" S-Say, Mizuki, why did you get to the point of chakra exhaustion anyway? We are clearly told not to do that even while out in a mission, much less training inside the house.. "

Mizuki slowed down as Iruka followed his pace now that they have left the area they just created a scene in

" Huh, what else could it be Iruka "

Iruka looked worriedly at his friend as he looked towards the horizon, as if trying to catch the clouds going by

" It's promotion Iruka.. we are 25 now.. it's time we settle down, my work as a teacher is ending this month and chunin just won't cut it after this, it's too risky. At least special Jonin is my goal.. was my goal. "

' The original's anyway, not like I am going to even think of stopping there, this body might have gotten all it's potential out with training, and that's not much considering Mizuki was a chunin, better than Iruka but still very much a chunin. Roads open up as your knowledge grows, and the one thing I have in abundance is knowledge, my biggest help in this new life '

Seeing Mizuki's thoughtful appearance after his last words, Iruka started worrying about his friend again.

" Mizuki.. don't give up, we can, you can, definitely become a special Jonin! Not this year then next, just don't rush and keep taking breaks in between missions- "

Iruka out of nowhere glowed like he found a brilliant idea

" That's it! Mizuki, you only do the mandatory missions after this, don't worry about money! I will help you, I got enough saved for a few years! "

Quickly clarifying as he knew his friend could be hard headed sometimes

" It's not like I am helping you for free you see! When you reach special jonin you can help me! Then I will have a special jonin looking out for me! It's a total steal for me you see "

Iruka said trying to make a face that he is getting the better end of the deal as he looked towards Mizuki.

Before he could hear his friend's reply, they had reached Mizuki's home, but he looked on as he hoped his friend wouldn't ignore him in this, this was good for Mizuki, he only hoped he wouldn't be too prideful to refuse directly and take extreme steps because his pride got hurt.. He only hoped it turns out well..
