The dinner came to an end in a flash. Before Wendy finished cutting the fruit, John Wilson couldn't wait to ask Louis out. "It's getting late. Maybe Mr. Louis should leave now!"
His voice was neither loud nor low with half of doubt and half of determination.
Louis Wellington looked down at Wendy who was busy in the kitchen. After a while, he looked up calmly. With a smile at the corners of his mouth, he said to the woman's back, "I'm leaving."
Hearing the sound, Wendy took out the fruit she had just cut.
"Don't you have a rest?" She tilted her head and looked innocent.
"No, thanks."
It was not because John didn't welcome him. Louis also wanted to go back and discuss with Evan how to deal with the trailsman. It was not a good thing for both him and Wendy.
Then Louis Wellington walked towards the door. Behind him came Vicki's sweet voice, "Goodbye, handsome uncle."
"Bye." He looked back and smiled at the baby, as gentle as the sun.
