3 Friend

Following the directions on the sign, I found myself outside of a large lecture hall. There were already some students inside but it was still pretty vacant. I went in and decided to sit in the rows upfront. If I was going to get an internship, I should make myself noticeable first! As I set my stuff down, I noticed a few other students staring at me. I guess most people aren't used to seeing foreigners, especially this one with white hair.

I used to have blonde hair but the older I got, the lighter my hair went. Now it looks like I dyed my hair because it has gotten whiter than a sheet of paper. I hope people won't mistake me for a grandpa.

As I was pulling out my phone, someone tapped me on my shoulder.

"Hey," said someone behind me.

"Hello?" I replied as I turned around.

Right behind me sat a dude with bright orange hair. I don't know how I didn't see it coming into the room because his hair definitely stood out amongst everyone else's.

"You're a foreigner?" He asked.

"Yeah, I'm from Russia," I said.

"Really? I'm Japanese!" the dude exclaimed happily.

"That's cool. Your English is really good."

"Ah, thank you! I studied in Japan! My name is Shinji Yamamoto. What is yours?"

"I'm Yuri Lebedev," I said.

"Nice to meet you Yuri! Want to be my friend?" Shinji asks as he extends his hand.

I happily shook it, excited that I made my first friend here. I was about to ask Shinji something else when the door opened and a hoard of students piled in. Shinji quickly sat himself in the seat next to mine as the lecture hall started to fill up with more people. I don't know if it was just me but there seems to be more girls than boys in the room. Before I could think anymore, a loud cough quieted everyone down. I faced forward to see a man, probably in his late 50's, leaning towards the microphone on the podium.

"Ahem, good morning students. Welcome to the Finance presentation. I am professor Zhu, head of the Financial and Economic department. Today, as everyone knows, we have the famous Mr. Han Lei Ye, CEO of the Han Corps, here to present to you all. Let's give him a round of applause!"

The professor stepped aside and the clapping began. Walking through the doors was a handsome man dressed in an elegant suit. What caught my eyes was his face. Had I seen him before? He looks a bit familiar...

Taking the final step to the podium, the man turned towards the students and began his presentation.

I still don't really have a clue on who this Mr. Han is but I have to say, his speech and presentation was perfect! During the entire show, I was very intrigued by what he was saying. He has definitely motivated me to pursue my career!

Walking out of the lecture hall, Shinji gave me the same reaction.

"Did you see that! He was so good! I wish I could speak to a whole room of people that confidently." Shinji says euthiastically. I could see the admiration in his eyes.

"We will have to work hard then," I said.

"That's true. Anyway, where are you going now? Do you know what time it is?" asks Shinji.

I reached into my pocket for my phone to check the time but found it empty. I checked my back pockets but the results were the same. Taking off my bag and after rummaging through it, I still couldn't find my phone.

"Hey Shinji, have you seen my phone anywhere? It's has a purple case," I said, panicking.

"Your phone? Did you forget it back in the room?" Shinji says as he pointed behind him.

"Well I hope it's there. I'm going to search for it so you don't have to wait for me," I said as I quickly rushed back into the lecture hall again.
