Human form . Part 1

Ericks team consisted of six people.

Selene- an arch mage.

Thalia - an assassin

Drake - an archer

Zeke- a cleric.

Olan - the scout.

And Melina - the spear woman.

Together they formed Epsilon, one of the most skilled A rank parties out there. And right now , they sought to do the impossible.

The border dungeon , as humans had come to call it, was a dungeon created by the greatest threat to their existence since the Age of Man began - Agnes Kai , the Monster king.

It was supposed to serve as the only passable route to the Monster continent , his kingdom. Legend has it that he'd left a strange creature in the Hypher Mountains , the most direct route to the continent and so passage through there had been prohibited and had to be done through his dungeon, making it basically impossible for most humans to get there.

The dungeon had a hundred floors and upon clearing it , you would be transported into the continent. But no human who has gone has ever returned. There many speculations about the reasons , but the one undeniable fact is that you die.

The first 40-50 floors of the dungeon would be no problem for his team , after all , they'd faced countless battles together and so their cooperation was flawless , and they were each strong in their own right.

It was the latter stages of the dungeon that scared him. The half that adventurers had dubbed the kill zones were there was a 70% chance of dying. He was scared but he tried not to show it.

The group would've left the first floor ages ago , but Selena had this notion that they'd live through this mission and so she wanted to document their travels and make records of all the monsters they'd encounter. And so , they'd scoured the floor , searching for unique monsters that'd satisfy the mages tastes.

Although everyone hated it , they couldn't risk Selena falling out with the group and leaving because of it. She was worth at least 40% of the groups strength , and losing her would lower their chances of survival.

So , for the first few weeks they randomly showered the floor. Because of that , they managers to witness the great upheaval that took place when the three floor kings dukes it out. Although the battle was beneath them , it was quite interesting to watch.

And then , quite by accident , they'd discovered the valley full of mana crystals.

They'd immediately started excavating them , but who would've thought that they would be discovered so quickly. They been attackers by at least two groups of people and , unless they finished soon , it looked like the numbers would continue to rise.

Erick didn't know where this new group came form , or how they discovered them. All he knew was that he had to slaughter every last one of them and quickly leave the floor. It had become too inconvenient. Even if they had to offend Selene, for the sake for their mission , they had no choice.

All these thoughts fluttered about in his head as he fought. It seemed like this new group had done their homework. They knew approximately how strong his group was and so were trying to overwhelm them with numbers. Close to 50 people were attacking a group of 6.

But in front of absolute strength , numbers are nothing.

[ Invigorate ]

Using a warrior art to strengthen his physical attributes he changed into their midst. His mace flew so fast that it was like black light dancing through the air and reaping the life of his enemies.

A single blow was all it took to cause death. As he maneuvered his way among them like a fleeting shadow, he saw Selene boredom casting spell after spell , slaying the strangers like the ants they were.

He quickly side stepped a jab and punched the attacker so hard in the gut that he was lifted off his fret for a few seconds. He collapsed in the next moment. The other four members in the group hadn't lowered themselves to fight these weaklings , and as Erick slayed them , he began to wonder why he'd stepped up.

Maybe it was because he was so bored.

A few moment was all hat was really needed. He and Selene has completely wiped out a team of 50 people , just like that.

He glanced at his group and chuckled while shaking his head. "The weak never learn do they. "

Olan grinned. "It's because they're weak that they're like this boss. "

Erick shook his head ," Selene , you know how uncomfortable I am with killing other humans. This has to stop. So I've decided that we're moving into the next floor. I don't give a damn about your research right now. "

Selene, a petite girl with a nice rack going on there sighed and nodded ," Very well. I guess we've squeezed as much a we can from this floor anyway. Let's proceed. "

Erick breathes a silent sigh of relief and thanks whatever god was out there listening to him. "Alright , let's move. "

He nodded to his team and turned to approach the cart where they'd stored their goods.
