A world once thriving and hopeful is plunged into darkness as a malevolent force known as the Supreme Demon wreaks havoc. The story unfolds through the eyes of the Great Hero, a valiant champion believed to be humanity's last hope against this unspeakable evil.
Just as all seems lost, a glimmer of hope emerges when a prophecy is fulfilled: a deity, the Goddess, descends to grant chosen individuals the power to become "heroes." United by their faith and the strength bestowed upon them, the "chosen heroes" resist the relentless onslaught of darkness.
But even heroes have their limits. One by one, they fall at the hands of the Supreme Demon, until only the Great Hero remains. Yet, an unexpected twist emerges as the Demon seems to spare the hero on numerous occasions, leaving the hero baffled and tormented by cryptic words and fragmented thoughts.
The novel delves deep into the psyche of the hero, capturing his inner turmoil as he navigates the confusion of a world turned upside down. He grapples with shattered realities, uncertain loyalties, and the haunting words of the Demon echoing in his mind. The hero's perception of his mission, the Goddess, and even his own sanity unravels in a whirlwind of uncertainty.
