"It looks like your wife is dehydrated. To be more precise, it should be taken to the hospital for further examination." The doctor answered while tidying up his tools. Darren, who was not satisfied with the answer, immediately called the hotel to provide a driver for him because he would take his wife to the hospital.
The car that would take them to the hospital was ready in front of the lobby, Darren, who received the information, immediately brought his wife down by carrying her in his palms. Calista's face, which was pale because her stomach was empty after being drained several times, made Darren very worried. All the guests and employees saw the scene of Darren holding Calista with various questions in their respective minds. And, Darren doesn't care what everyone thinks.
"That's his wife was vomiting constantly in the restaurant. The doctor has called to his room but it doesn't seem to be satisfying the results. So he was taken to the hospital to be checked." A hotel clerk whispered to one of his friends and the whisper spread like a virus quickly to everyone present to witness the moment there.
"What a romantic husband. I wish my husband was like that. Humph."
"Well, his wife must be pregnant. They looked like newlyweds. It's great, it's tossed right away."
"The husband is very handsome and his wife still looks beautiful even though her face is pale. They're a great couple."
"I wish my son and daughter-in-law were like them. What they have is that they fight every day. Humph."
Thoughts were scattered everywhere seeing Darren carrying Calista into the car. Darren laid Calista in the back passenger seat. Darren entered from the other side where Calista's head was. He made his thighs as a cushion for his wife who was still pale.
"Hurry to the hospital!" Darren said half screaming frantically.
"Yes sir." The driver immediately drove his car out of the five-star hotel area. Dozens of pairs of eyes watched their car leave the hotel. Including Lewis's jet-black eyes, who had just returned from the cafe for coffee. Lewis furrowed his brows seeing the panic on Darren's and Calista's faces who seemed to have fainted helplessly.
"Hold on dear. You must be fine." Darren stroked Calista's cheek gently. Calista, who seemed to have fainted, didn't answer or respond with a cough. Darren hugged his wife's body tightly.
Arriving at the hospital, Darren asked the driver to get out to find a team of paramedics so he could bring his wife inside. Not long after, 2 paramedics came with a stretcher. Calista's limp body was slowly lifted onto the gurney by being lifted together. A doctor greeted them after Calista was placed on the emergency room bed.
"How did it happen, sir?" A female doctor asked Darren after he had his checkup.
"We were about to have breakfast but the first spoonful she suddenly felt nauseous and vomited a lot. Even until her stomach was empty, she was still nauseous and wanted to throw up." Darren answered quickly.
The doctor nodded slowly. Looks like your wife is pregnant, he thought.
"Alright, we'll do a test first huh. The results will be out soon. You just wait here. Our nurse will help your wife." The middle-aged female doctor smiled and asked Darren not to panic.
"Alright, please check my wife thoroughly. Don't miss it one bit." Darren said and left the patient's chair. The doctor knitted his brows, "Which doctor is he or me? Why did he give the order?" Said the doctor in his heart, shaking his head in surprise.
Darren dialed several numbers and made a call.
"Mommy, Calista, and I are in the **** hospital. Mommy, can you come here now?" Darren said after hearing a hello from the other end of the phone.
"Hospital? Who is sick?" Mom answered panicked. Sara, who was checking the financial statements from her laptop, immediately turned off the laptop, closed it, and tidied it back into her bag.
"Calista. She was vomiting when she was about to eat breakfast. The doctor is examining her now." Darren answered while occasionally looking at his wife who was lying down accompanied by a nurse who was doing an examination.
"Throws up?" Sara, who was initially infected with panic, cleaned up her laptop, suddenly smiled brightly, and moved more slowly.
"Yes. Do you want to come here, mommy?" Darren asked again.
"Okay honey, wait for it. Mommy gets ready first." Sarah smiled happily. She gripped her phone tightly while half-jumping with joy.
"I'm going to be a grandma. Yeayyy. Thank you, Lord. Please accept my prayer to give me many grandchildren, Amen." Sara wiped her happy face then got ready to head to the hospital as Darren mentioned.
"Babe, still at home?" Sara calls James, Darren's father.
"Of course. But, I'll be leaving in a moment." James replied.
"Are you having breakfast? Don't miss your breakfast, okay?" Sara smiled happily as she spoke to her husband.
"I'm having breakfast now, have you had breakfast? Watch out for your stomach acid if you are late to eat. Don't go to the hospital again. Launching your product soon, right? Take good care of your health while away from home." James, known to be very protective of his wife. Even though he looks fierce with his jet black hair in a ponytail when he is alone or talking to his wife he is always full of warmth and tenderness.
"Yes, dear babe. You too, huh…" For a moment, Sara was confused and didn't know what to say. Because her talkative husband talked at length, she forgot what to say.
"Your blanking sickness has reappeared. What were you talking about?" James, who knew his wife's weakness very well at this point, shook his head.
"You keep talking. I forgot what to say!" Sara was thrilled that she had forgotten something she wanted to say. "Okay, I'll call you later!" Sara hung up the phone with a shaky breath. The husband smiled faintly. Sara's nature has not changed, even though she already has children and a daughter-in-law.
"Eh babe, I just remembered now. Darren is taking Calista to the hospital. Looks like we're going to be grandparents soon, hihihi…" Sara immediately called James back as soon as she remembered what she wanted to say to her husband.
"Is that true? Wow, that's great Darren. Not even two months of marriage has succeeded in making his wife pregnant." James, who was getting ready to go to the car that was waiting for him, paused for a moment in his footsteps.
"But that's not certain. I want to go to the hospital now to accompany Darren. I'll tell you again later. Be careful on the road, babe. I'll get ready first. Oh yeah, don't forget to bring your laptop!" Sara answered ending the long-distance conversation via telephone.
"Unlucky! I always forget that one!" James clenched his jaw and cursed himself for catching his wife's illness. He returned to the reading room and took his laptop before heading to the car.
The streets in the Seminyak area are crowded like Jakarta in the morning. The location of the hospital which is near should be reached within 10 minutes. However, it took Sara more than half an hour to get to the hospital.
"Mom…" Darren saw the woman who gave birth to him rushing over.
