What Friends Are For... Part Two

The host announces for the first contests to go behind the white starting line. You look down at your phone because you got a message and for some reason; you wanted it to come from Johnny. But it wasn't, and by the time you look up, you thought you heard his voice.

The sirens go off and the first runners go to the kid's rooms. They do their best to scare the robotic human kids, but unfortunately, the green monster from R.O.R accidentally trips on a toy, causing him to almost fall and scare the kid in that position. Meanwhile, the guy on Mike's team hits a higher score, making O.K the leading winning team.

You cheer for Mike's team and not R.O.R, not anymore ever since what happened with you and Johnny. Johnny sees you cheering for O.K and talking to Mike. As much as it hurts him not being able to talk to you and seeing you smiling around Mike, he keeps it to himself.

Eventually, it was Mike's and Johnny's turn for the final round. While Sully was talking to Mike, you look over at Johnny. He looks at you for a second before looking back at the big screen. He really only cares about winning huh?

Johnny: (Sighs) I can't keep thinking about her. I'll talk to her when this game is over.

.

He really thought about what you said to him that night and ever since you told him you couldn't be friends with him anymore, hurt him more than you think. Because ever since he saw you from day one, he's always had a thing for you. Hence why you're the only girl he hangs out with and never dated anyone because he was planning on asking you out.

Johnny and Mike are now next to each other on one knee. You see Johnny say something to Mike but you couldn't make out what he said. But it looks like it doesn't have an effect on Mike. You just hope O.K wins the game and takes home the trophy.

The sirens go off and the two run to their scare rooms on the big screen shows both members enter the room. Johnny quietly crawls over to the bed without touching any of the human toys before jumping on the edge of the bed and letting out a powerful roar that scares the fake human child, earning him a high score.

Y/n: Wow... he's pretty scary.

.

The crowd goes wild for Johnny as he exits the room and walks back over to his team. You really wanted to cheer for him, but you're still mad at him and you don't know if he's also mad at you. The crowd's cheer and even from his own team meant nothing to him but pretends to enjoy it. Without making it noticeable, he looks over at you and doesn't see you cheering for him.

Looking at the big screen, everyone waits for Mike to scare the child. It takes him a few seconds as he's laying on the floor next to the bed, but then gets on the bed and lets out a roar. The fake child screams and it fills the scoreboard to max points, winning the game.

Y/n: He won! They won!

The crowd goes wild cheering for O.K as they just won the scare games. There's green confetti popping everywhere as Mike exits the scare room. You, along with some of the monsters, jump off the stands and run up to him and his team. Sully then puts Mike on his shoulder and you cheer for them.

Looking over at Johnny and his team, they're in complete shock that it was funny to watch. You take your phone out and take a picture of Johnny's face before turning back to Mike.

Y/n: You did it! You won Mike!

Sully: We're staying in the scare program!

You look back to Johnny and see him and his team leave the stadium. A part of you still hurts, you're not going to lie. A part of you wants to talk to him but... maybe it's really it. And to think that you do have a crush on him. That you ended up really liking your best friend... well... ex-best friend.

After congratulating them, you make your way back to the girl's dorm. You have to sleep early tonight for your appointment in the morning. You're walking alone on the campus and you walk towards the stone fountain, the same fountain where you and Johnny had the argument. You take your phone out, seeing you have a couple of notifications. As you read them, you hear a voice calling your name.

Johnny: Hey Y/n.

.

Your ears perk up as you turn around, and you see Johnny standing just a few feet away. You put your phone in your pocket to hear what he has to say.

Y/n: Oh, hey.

Johnny: Listen, I... I wanted to apologize for what I said... You were right about everything... and I'm sorry.

Y/n: I accept your apology. But why be so mean to him in the first place?

Johnny: (Sighs) I was... I was jealous of how close you two were and... I thought that you two could... date.

Y/n: Oh Johnny, Mike has been my best friend since childhood. Even then, I never saw him as anything more than that. And... I'm sorry for yelling at you.

Johnny: You don't have to apologize, you were right. I was a huge asshole, and I underestimated him. More importantly...

.

It's like he's trying to come up with the words to say right now. You take a few steps towards him now, standing about five feet away from him.

Johnny: (Looks down at the ground) I'm sorry...

Y/n: (Smile) I forgive you Johnny.

Johnny: So... does this mean we're friends again?

Y/n: Yeah, we're cool.

Johnny: (Sighs) Oh that's good. Well, uh... now that we're cool. There's this new coffee shop downtown, and I was thinking we could go together tomorrow.

Y/n: Sure, we can.

Johnny: A-Alright, I'll see you tomorrow. Goodnight Y/n:

Y/n: Night Johnny.

He turns around and just as he walks away, an idea comes to mind. Something you've been thinking about doing for a little while after realizing your true feelings for him. And now that you two have cleared the air, maybe now's a good time to show him just how you feel. You hurry towards him, place your paw on his shoulder before turning him around, and kiss him.

Despite his shock, he kisses you right back without pulling you away or hesitating to stop. His wags even start to wag up and down a bit. You end the kiss five seconds later by pulling yourself away.

Y/n: I'll definitely see you tomorrow Johnny.
