Regaining The Lost Limb

"No... No... MIKAAAA!!!" Rio shouts at the top of his lungs, grabbing Mika's head which has been decapitated from his body. As he stared into the lifeless eyes, Rio diverted his attention to Meryna who had just cut Mika's body into pieces. 

"You... How dare you... Why did you have to do that..." Tears flowed out from Rio's eyes. Meanwhile, Meryna only stares at Rio with her gleaming pink pupil. From her expression, anybody can tell that she doesn't feel bad nor guilty about Mika's death. As her head tilted, she spoke to Rio...

"Why are you crying over him? I just saved him."

"Eh...?" With Mika's head in his arms, Rio looked toward Meryna with tears in his eyes. 

"Look, you've said your friend was hit by the Purple Fire and I've known a fact that its burning pain was really really painful you wish to die. With all that wound on his body, I'd rather put him out of his misery. So I put him out of his misery~"

Meryna said all that with a cheerful tone. But Rio on the other hand, was triggered by her tone and also her words, which made him unsheathe his sword, Inazumei, and charged towards while Meryna wasn't aware of it.

"Ara?" Before Meryna realized it, she was already cut in half by Rio. From her head to her genitals. The blood splattered as she hit the ground. And Rio, with the aura of electricity flowing inside his veins, cleaned off Meryna's blood which was on his sword.

But Rio knew it wasn't the end of Meryna. From the body which was cut in half, a large amount of thread comes out from inside her body. Sewing of her body parts which were cut by Rio. As Rio sees this, he decides not to give Meryna any chances to let her breathe as he marches forward with his sword.

But his objective was interrupted as Rio saw something fly from his side. Rio who had the high-speed reaction was able to avoid it, turns out it was a metal bar that was pierced into the wall. Rio thought to himself...

(Where does that iron bar come from? Wait, I see it, it's her doing!) 

Thought Rio as he saw a vividly pink thread emanating inside the darkness. The thread was which is attached to Meryna, she used the thread as her arm which grabbed the object nearby and then threw it to Rio.

(Crap, I have no way to get close to her! These threads are getting in my way!)

Like Rio thought, even if he cut the thread a thousand times, there's more of it coming in his way. Even more, the projectile that Meryna is throwing also interrupts Rio's movement. When Rio realized it, Meryna had already sewed her body part as she was floating in the air.

The huge number of threads that Rio can't count started swarming him in a 180-degree direction. Seeing the thread in slow motion, Rio's first thought is to charge head-on. Ignoring the thread that came from his side, Rio charged in straight lines.

Multiple projectiles were thrown at Rio, but he anticipated the attack as he cut the projectile in two. Cutting the threads coming in his way along with them. Rio was able to get to a close distance towards Meryna. But, there weren't any signs of terror coming from Meryna's expression. Just... an eerie smile.

(What?!) 

As the blade almost reached Meryna, Rio realized that she dropped down, avoiding his vertical swings at this very moment. At the next moment, the debris was coming towards Rio in all directions. Rio had no choice but to cut them all up.

As Rio's feet reached the floor, he didn't see any signs of Meryna anywhere. That's until he turned his head back...

"Ahh~ I'm really missing these sweet limbs of mine~ Our short parting was but a sad story. As if you've been split up from your dear friend for long- But... I'm happy that we are finally able to reunite again and complete your body, my dear Riene..."

(Wait, who's Riene- Hold up, my item box!)

Rio only just realized that his item box was stolen away from him. Which contains Meryna's limbs. And now, those very limbs were able to become one with their owner again.

"Now, shall we dance again?~ My little lamb?~" Holding the dual dagger in her hands, it's time for Meryna's turn to charge forward. Like the first time they fought, the two were clashing on each other as if they were dancing.

Rio knows how to suppress Meryna which is to paralyze her whole body. But Meryna found the counter of being paralyzed by electricity by tying the thread on the edge of her dagger. With that, Meryna has no way of getting paralyzed as long as she's keeping her distance.

Even so, Rio found the gap between Meryna's movement and decided to pierce that spot. Rio used the lightning strike, piercing Meryna's body as Rio's sword went to the other side. 

(Now is the time!)

Rio's electricity on his body went over his limit, it seems his tactic is to come in close contact with Meryna and use his body to electrocute Meryna. But, what comes next is her creepy smile.

"Caught you~" As soon as Meryna said that, she grabbed Rio by the armpit. Rio was overwhelmed by her physical strength he had no idea what to do in this situation.

"Here, I, Go! ~" Meryna, threw Rio over to the wall. The impact was great causing the wall to crack, Rio on the other hand, lost grip of his sword which was stuck to Meryna. Meryna pulled out the sword, and then she started playing with it as if she were a little kid who got a new toy.

"G-Give it back..." Rio stood up but with trembling legs as he had no energy since he used too much mana. Meryna, seeing Rio come to her once again, started taking a stance to swing the sword.

Rio can anticipate a fast attack as he's ready for Meryna's attack as he comes close to her. But then, before Rio knew it, he just realized that one of his legs was cut.
