MMORPG: bloodline assimilation

in the year 2050 international tensions reached an all time high when on the last day of that year the first nuclear bomb was released marking the start of world war 3. this war went on for 20 years till more than 70% of the planet was polluted by so much radiation that it was deemed unsuitable for life. with the year 2071 being the year when all nations came together to form the united federation in order to make it so that there won't be any more pointless casualties.

30 years later a pale skinned teenager with black hair and brown eyes named Lucas Steele was walking toward a convenience store with 25$ to his name.

The store's automatic doors slid open as he walked in. buying a few cup noodles and some energy drinks after a long day of work.

Before he walked out of the store he saw an advertisement on the new game paradise of the deities. It was the new VRMMORPG with an immersion level of 99% beating all other games as the second highest was at most 80%.

the game was supposed to be released tonight and Lucas saw ads like this placed everywhere as even though the game wasn't open yet it was already dubbed the second world.

passing by the trash on the ground as he walked home lucas entered his small apartment and started making his cup noodles. then he turned on the TV to a popular news station.

the beautiful news anchor said "with only 6 hours until the game paradise of the deities is open so far 9 of the 10 tickets for the lottery that gives the highest level game pod have been found. the game developers have announced that anyone who obtains one of the highest level game pods, when they start the game they will be guaranteed to obtain one of the best talents possible in the game.

almost every big company is investing in the game by bringing groups of skilled players to join their guilds as it's being said the new game has the potential to become a multi trillion dollar market.

currently the game isn't very open to the masses as even the lowest level gaming equipment cost about a thousand but even so it's speculated that the game will have about 100 million player at the start."

Lucas turned off the TV. he felt that he had always been unlucky to the point where if a friend of his family hadn't reached out and helped him to get a job he would probably already be on the streets.

soon after Lucas got up to go check on his noodles and throw out the noodle wrapper but as he was picking up the noodle wrapper a silver piece of paper fell to the ground.

Lucas froze for a moment in shock before picking up the paper to check what it was with a slight hope that it might be what he thought it was.

the nine heavens company invites you to receive a highest level game pod.

the words on the ticket stunned Lucas as he was overwhelmed with a series of emotions. in the end he flipped over the ticket showing the number he was supposed to call in order to get the game pod.

he quickly pulled out his phone and dialed the number. the call went by quickly as it seemed the company had someone prepared for the call and only asked for his address to deliver the game pod.

'the number must have been made for the game pod' Lucas thought before remembering the noodles.

Lucas devoured the noodle as he wanted to prepare for the arrival of the game pod as he would have to move some furniture around to make space for it in his atrociously small apartment.

the game pod arrived quickly as it had only taken 4 hours to get to his place from god knows how far. what came as a pleasant surprise to Lucas was that the people who delivered the game pod also helped him set it up taking another hour.

with only 30 minutes until the game opened he decided it would be best to take a quick shower before getting in his new game pod that was so rare that there were only 10 of in the world.

as he got out of the shower he looked at his shockingly thin body malnourished from only ever eating cup noodles and frowned. he was hoping that with the talent he got in the game he would be able to make some money so he could move out of his almost run down apartment and be able to afford some actual food.

after getting dressed Lucas glanced at the time and with only 10 minutes until the game started he hopped into his game pod to get ready for his first time entering the place called the second world.
