The Final push (1/2)

'I found out what happened to the unfortunate Asari children who were on the Ark when the kett arrived, they were Exalted into some type of Dog like creature. The creature, was easy to kill, once you could find it, its cloaking ability is slightly annoying to deal with'

And place, for the last two hours all I have been doing is lifting and placing countless items that we will need for the colony on the forklift before lifting it to Hados, who then takes it off and places it to the side, sending it down an empty Forklift so we can start the process over once again.

Why not use the lift to easily take the forklift to the next level, I hear you ask? Well, I don't know what is waiting for me when that elevator opens, although the room where we are placing the goods is barely being held together with external shielding, the vacuum can be used as an emergency exit if needed.

<An hour passes>

"Hados this is the last load to take up, from here we need to get this all to the area the Kett are using as a staging zone. From there we kill them all, load up the items onto the ships and fly to our new home."

~It sounds so simple when I say it .like that, we both know that this will be a difficult challenge that will likely kill us both.

Silence, the only sound that came as we walked towards the now Kett owned hanger was the occasional hit from the cruiser, that would shake the Ark. Well that and the sound of a forklift slowly chugging behind me, Hados was driving the thing, I have covered both it and us with a large Biotic barrier, a sort of bubble shield if you will. Not stealthy at all, however, it will protect the goods.

"Hesh"

Hearing the sound of a Kett speaking, I lift my hand, signalling Hados to stop, I disengage the bubble shield and slowly peek around the corner. 10 of the remaining Kett are bunkered down here, they seem to be waiting for something or someone, ASs I take a step closer to them, I set off an alarm.

Instantly, the Kett turn to where I am standing, three of them move to cover their flanks while a new type of Kett moves from the back of the group and faces me, he smiles as he lifts his gun into my line of sight. A fucking machine gun, like the size of a turret, that seems fair.

On instinct my body throws itself backwards as the bigger Kett begins to fire, in response, I pull up a smaller bubble shield and run behind some actual cover, I look back to where I was and signal for Hados to remain hidden. They can not be alerted to the supplies at any cost.

I calmly take my Shotgun and place it on top of the metal crate that I'm using as cover and begin firing off, without looking where the enemies are, I know my chances of success are slim but slim is better than nothing.

*Clink*

What I was waiting for, the machine gun needs to be reloaded, quickly, I there myself over the box and biotic charged into the large Kett, throwing him into the wall. I was also flung back, his mass was a lot more than I thought it was, I had however taken out its shields. Before the big bastard could recover, I once again charged into him, damaging both of us in the process, as I staggered back, I pulled out my sword and rammed it into the eye of the beast. I made sure that it went deep into its skull before I retreated behind cover, the remaining Kett awoke from their daze and began to open fire on me with a renewed vigour.

It seems that I may have pissed them off, I flung a shockwave at the Kett closest to me, throwing them out from their cover, before two quick shotgun blasts finished them off. The seven remaining Kett entered a formation that I couldn't make out from my position, a smile found its way to my face, I enjoy battle so much.
