Chapter 18 Saying Goodbye

After a while, Xiaoyi noticed nothing was happening and reluctantly opened her eyes.

The wolves were all dead. Lu Yi stood valiantly in front of her while Xiaoyi eyes turned red.

Xiaoyi jumped at him even before he could offer to help her up.

"I clearly told you yesterday that this place is unsafe, didn't I, Lu Yi asked calmly with a smile that didn't reach his face.

"I thought you were missing so I came to look for you, Xiaoyi said in a low sad tone with her head bowed down.

Lu Yi was suddenly speechless. He did not even know how to scold her.

"Alright, get down now, Lu Yi said with a hint of indulgence in his eyes.

Xiaoyi finally noticed the awkward position. Her legs were tightly wrapped around Lu Yi's waist and her hand were around his neck. His breath blew gently on her body causing Xiaoyi to widen her eyes.

In an hurry to get down, Xiaoyi fell heavily to the ground.

"Do you need me to help you up, Lu Yi teased when Xiaoyi remained on the ground after a while.

"No need, Xiaoyi said in pain and glared at Lu Yi before moving.

"How did you kill those dangerous wolves, Xiaoyi asked curiously.

"Take a guess, Lu Yi said.

"Maybe you fight them off with a stick or they got scared by your intimidating aura and ran off, Xiaoyi said after a while.

"Am not as dumb as you? Have you forgotten you are a cultivator, Lu Yi said and flicked Xiaoyi's forehead.

"Right, magical powers, Xiaoyi said still rubbing her forehead in pain.

"I am not dumb, Xiaoyi protested.

As they walked, Xiaoyi's leg hit a stone again and she groaned in pain.

"Why is this place so stony, Xiaoyi said angrily.

In attempt to take revenge on the stone, Xiaoyi hit her leg against the stone again and yelped in pain.

In the end, Lu Yi had to carry her back.

To their surprise, when they got back, they met someone.

"I knew someone was here when I saw those blanket, Yanhui gleamed with happiness as she saw Lu Yi and Xiaoyi approach her.

They quickly recognized each other.

"You are that arrogant lady, Xiaoyi said.

"That's not a good way to describe someone, Yanhui said waving her hand.

"How did you end up here, Yanhui asked after the two settled down.

Xiaoyi narrated the story and Yanhui sighed.

"It seems they mistook me for you guys, Yanhui said.

"What do you mean, Lu Yi asked.

"Actually, Qing Yu Mountain is usually a cover up. They sell harmful drug which makes people go crazy. My father is the Ministry of Justice and hence I took up the case. I finally traced the case to Qing Yu Mountain. When I got Qing Yu Mountain with some men, they were clearly unprepared but they ended up pushing me off the cliff, Yanhui explained.

"I actually thought Qing Yu Mountain was related to Qing Hua Mountain but it seems I was wrong, Lu Yi said still wondering where on earth Qing Hua.

"Qing Hua Mountain, Yanhui said as her brows furrow.

"Yes, we came in search of Qing Hua Mountain but we found Qing Yu Mountain instead, Xiaoyi said before sighing.

"Actually, Qing Hua Mountain is in my state, Yanhui said after a while.

"Really, Xiaoyi said with a smile.

"But...., Yanhui paused as her brows furrowed even more.

"But what, Lu Yi asked.

"It is a dangerous place, it is a black market but everyone knows about it. They usually auction something everyday and one has to bet a huge amount of money in respect to the value of the object. If the value of the object is really huge, one may lose his life for it, Yanhui explained.

"Everyone there treat human being like toys. There was once a time when my father took me to the place. A man was surrounded by lions in a cage to get an antidote for his loved one, he ended up dead but everyone seems happy, Yanhui explained further.

"The pressing matter on ground is to get out of here, Yanhui said after a while.

"We have checked all here, it seems there is no another way out, Xiaoyi chimed in.

"Who told you there is no way out, Lu said after a while.

"We have not searched the West have we, Lu Yi said.

"But there are dangerous animals there, Xiaoyi shivered at the thought of the wild wolves.

"The most dangerous place may be the safest place so maybe the way out is there, Lu Yi added.

"Then let's have it checked, Yanhui said impatiently.

Yanhui stood up at once but to her surprise the two were still seated.

"Let set off, Yanhui said.

"Firstly, she is injured. Am not sure if you have eaten but we haven't, Lu Yi said and Xiaoyi nodded in affirmation.

"Yo, I forget am escaping with a couple, Yanhui teased and finally reasoned with them.

"Which couple are you talking about, Xiaoyi said embarrassed.

"Aren't you guys a couple, Yanhui asked in disbelief.

Lu Yi ignored them and went to prepare the food.

After preparing the meal, Lu Yi still met Xiaoyi and Yanhui banter happily.

"Come have your meal, Lu Yi said wondering what ladies say together everytime.

"I did not know Mr Lu is a great cook, Yanhui complimented after a few bites.

"Stop being polite, Xiaoyi said.

"Just call him Lu Yi, Xiaoyi said while Lu Yi glanced at her, she just threw a smile at him before she continued eating.

Xiaoyi packed a few steamed buns and they immediately set off.

"I am going to miss this place, Xiaoyi said with lingering emotions as she handed a bracelet to Lu Yi.

"I made it last night when waiting for you, Xiaoyi said and immediately wore it on Lu Yi's hand.

Lu Yi then noticed she was wearing one and smiled.

"I thought you weren't a couple, Yanhui teased while Xiaoyi face turn red.

"I told you we are not, Xiaoyi said embarrassed.

She walked a bit faster and Lu Yi soon catched up.
