My names Aaron Davis and this is the story of how I became the savior of the world
My name is Aaron jones. I'm a fifteen year old kid and live in Paxton with my mom, dad, and little sister. Paxton is a kingdom in the northern reign of the land of Schima. There are four lands, Paxton, Neival, Jadia, and then there's my least favorite, Caliban. The reason why I say Caliban as my least favorite, is because it has the darkest creatures there that haven't led an attack on Paxton in one hundred and six years. But then again, I was told all of this. Anyways, I don't want to scare you, so I'll leave that out of the topic for now. Just kidding… I could've had an amazing, normal life if it weren't for the attack that happened on that day.
I was outside with my friend Logan at the markets to get stuff for my mom. He had brown curlyish hair almost covering his left eye, light brown eyes, and he was seventeen year old.
"Have you ever wondered", Logan asked, "what it would be like if the world were a bit different, more peace? No monsters. No wars...just peace".
I hesitated for a second. Me and him have never been included in the events that happened one hundred and six years ago (that's obvious, I'm fourteen), so we don't really know what other people went through. But if our great-grandparents were alive, they would know.
" No, I mean not really. I don't really pay attenti-," I was cut off because somebody pushed past me.
"Watch it," the guy said.
Suddenly, a whole bunch of people started moving towards town gates. When they opened, a whole bunch of horses and… I don't know if I was hallucinating. One of the guys had jet black hair, horns, and a goatee. He was wearing a tunic and a cloak under it. He looked like the type of guy I wouldn't want to mess with. He had a mischievous smile on his face. The iris part of his eye was golden. Something about him just didn't feel right.
Most of the people who had come in from the gates had either masks or helmets on. More people started crowding. I tried to see what else was going on, but there were too many people. I pushed through the crowd with Logan, and eventually got through. Everything seemed a bit more scary upfront.
" He looks like the man from my book," Logan said pointing at the guy with the horns.
" You mean Dagger?",I asked.
"Yes, it has to be".
From the books we're all given, the man people call Dagger is the person who led the war 106 years ago. But that couldn't be possible. The king wouldn't let him in. He was still banished. But then again, I'm just getting all this information from the books I've read, so I can't really be sure If all of that is true. Maybe things have changed. That's the only explanation.
After about thirty minutes people started going to the front of the castle where Dagger was standing alongside the king. But I knew what was going on.
The king started to introduce us to Dagger, "As all know this is, Ale-I mean Dagger… I know you all might be confused as to why he is here after he led the other side of the war one hundred and six years ago. But there's been a change". He signaled his hand towards Dagger.
"I've created", Dagger started, " an invitation of peace. I want a new start for things. That means no more wars. No more throwing people out because of their species. My first request as ruler of Caliban, is to ORDER the slaughter...OF KING ALEXANDER".
An arrow came down from one of the castle turrets, and got the king on the left side of his body where his kidney would have been. Some people screamed and gasped in terror at what they had just witnessed. The king collapsed to the ground. Some people tried to run away, but Dagger's defenses started closing in on the people outside.
"As the new ruler of Paxton, ALL OF YOU IN THESE WALLS, WILL FOLLOW AND RESPECT ME, and soon, I will become the ruler of all four lands ", he said.
This was the time in my life where I was highly afraid. I didn't expect this. I kept asking myself all of these questions. Why was this happening right here, at this time. I couldn't even find Logan, wherever he was. I squirmed through the crowd of bunched up people, and got out without being. I ran home.
When I went inside my house, my parents weren't there, so I went upstairs to my sisters room. She was sitting in a corner crying, Logan was sitting with her.
" Lo-Logan we have to get out of here, I don't know where our parents are but we can't depend on them at the moment", I said.
" They took mom and dad-", my sister Celia said.
My eyes widened. I don't know exactly what she meant by took, but all I knew was that we had to leave. I grabbed Celia's hand and helped her up.
"We've got to go", I put on my cloak and grabbed the sword and shield from the wall displays.
Logan stood up and nodded his head. I went downstairs, both of them following behind me. I opened the door a bit. When I saw that no one was there, I signaled to Logan and Celia.
We managed to get past the gates. It was night time so I didn't think many people would be outside, but I knew we had to keep walking for a while. It was going to be a long night.
