Thud thud!

It was loud in the morning the whole manson was screaming. At that moment a beautiful lady came near her son she had black hair brown eyes and tears were flowing from her eyes .

"Leo listen to me you are not meant to live like me you should escape from this family you have a chance to be a wizard, don't be caged the world is vast only with power can you be free. Wait for a few years and go to your grandmother's grave I don't know if it would be useful but it may help you. Be free son, I love you"

A loud banging was heard on the door few knights broke in behind them was my father who I have met twice.

"You filthy whore, I you are nothing but a peasant mortal and you dare steal from me. Tell me were is it were did you hide it tell me were it is and I will make your death less painful"

To which Layla, Leo's mother simply cried and begged for mercy and denied her crime.

Then suddenly an old man came into the room and everyone was silent and bowed his very presence was God like. It was Leo's father's father the patriarch of the family Theodore Betton a rank 3 wizard. His sound was thunderous "You stupid fool you not only failed to protect the treasure now you are going to kill your only lead no wonder you are trash. I will personally teach this mortal a lesson although the treasure was insignificant no one can steal from the Betton family"

Layla's face was now white she took some stones from her pocket and pleaded

"Please have mercy great wizard I sold the magic item for some magic stones."

"To whom did you sell it "

" I don't know his name he wore a mask and had a snake tatoo in his hand. He promised to pay me enough magic stones to cure my so. Please have mercy"

The patriarch was looking coldly then suddenly Layla fell to the ground cold and unmoving, she was dead.

Leo looked at his mother's cold eyes no sound escaped from him, no tears fell from his eyes.

This lowly insect gave away a magic item to the member of the Hydra for magic stone for her pathetic son with D grade aptitude. His mere site is disgusting. She got tricked foolish whore.

He then left just like that and the knights followed him along with his his father Ray Betton.

Leo crawled near his mother the patriarchs' presence took a toll in the 7 year olds mind.

He was left alone in the room for 3 days without food or water with his mother's corpse.

Then some knights came in and took the roting corpse away some servants gave Leo some bread and water.

As a son of a commoner mortal and a rank 1 wizard he was a bastard, because of this he was born with a weak constitution since birth it was a miracle he was born itself and a D rank aptitude made his life even worse. He and his mother was abused daily by Ray and his family even the servants and knights treated them with contempt.

And now his mother was executed for theft. He was exiled to a small house away from the manson with no servants or knights he was given some gold coins every 6 month to live comfortably as a mortal.

Because of his mother's crime he was not taught magic or given a chance to become a knight.

Leo could not become a knight because of his weak constitution hence he was treated as trash.

He always remembered his mothers words that day she told him to be free. His only way to be free from this family is to join a wizard academy which would accept all students capable of being a wizard as long as they pay magic stones or a magic item or talent. The Betton family although famous cannot go against an academy. But he had no magic stones or a magic item. Even if he were to get some magic stones he had D grade aptitude he could get admitted but being a wizard would be really hard.

The only chance to get to the academy is by going to his grandmother's grave most probably it should have the item mother stole but I am being watched I have to wait for a few years. Leo cletched his hand and thought "I promise mother I will be free and I will burn this house to the ground".
