"Another snail.." a young man in his mid 20s crouched down and picked the small snail off the tomato leaf. He took a second before getting up. These pests are such a hassle, why can't they just use pesticides or something?

"Mellow! If you're done, then you can go home!", a sixty year old woman called for Mellow as she looked up from her big straw hat while taking off her gardening gloves. "Looks like it's going to rain soon, huh?"

Mellow came rushing towards the woman after gathering the tools he used earlier inside a basket. "Thank you for your hard work! You can put them aside" she said while patting the wooden table right next to her. Mellow put down the basket on top of the table and took off his gloves. "Oh that reminds me, wait for a bit okay?" the woman went inside her house after taking off her boots, which was covered with dirt underneath.

Mellow look up at the sky. It was dark. Maybe it was going to rain soon. Not that it meant anything to him. Still, he does feel a bit chilly.

"Mowww..."

A brown cat with green eyes walked up to him, swaying it's tail gently. "Well, hello there", he greeted. Mellow crouched down and pet the brown fur cat. Never would he thought it was this easy to touch animals, including those pests that he always pick up. All of a sudden, some clatterings could be heard from the house. The woman then appeared while holding a tray with two white teacups and a white teapot on top of it.

Mellow immediately rushed towards her and took the tray from her hands. It felt quite heavy for him considering that the teapot had filled with hot tea.

"hahah, sorry if it's a little heavy, dear" the woman took something from inside the house and put it inside her pocket before closing the door. Mellow carefully carry the heavy filled tray towards the table. It had even difficult for him since Paste, the brown cat from earlier started rubbing itself againts his legs.

"Paste! Leave the poor boy alone" the woman walked quickly towards the cat and picked it up. She then went next the table and put Paste down. Mellow sets down the tray and helped the woman with pulling her chair out. "Thank you dear", the woman gave a warm smile as she sat down. While the woman pour the both of them a cup of tea, he took a seat with Paste that suddenly jumped on top of his lap.

..chatter chatter.... chatter chatter..

This made Mellow feel at ease, just like any normal day that he could remembered. Although, the chilling he got that day made him feel unwell. When the sun had been playing hide and seek with the clouds for a while, it was time to go home.

"Don't forget to eat, deary! " the woman held her cat up as she imitates goodbye wave using Paste's right paw. Mellow nodded and waved back to the two sweet beings. He made his way home while enjoying the soundtrack of the lovely nature, mainly was some birds chirping. Everyday, he would have both of his hands full from carrying some veggies and fruits that was given by the old woman.

As time goes by, the sun had finally decided to show itself once more and Mellow had already reached home. His house was your everyday typical cottage with enough space for up to a family of three. Not that he really needed the large space. The house was simply all his mother had left for him. All of the sudden, his back felt warm and his shadow had formed beneath him. "I can't wait to hit the hay". With that, he unlocked the front door and got inside the house.
