Chapter Sixteen

Muichiro's footsteps echoed through the streets as he made his way back to the inn. The weight of his decision settled comfortably on his shoulders.

He had now officially joined a familia. He's taken a step into a new world that promised both challenges and maybe some new friendships.

As he walked, he contemplated the journey that lay ahead and the people he would meet along the way.

Arriving at the inn, Muichiro collected his belongings, his movements efficient and purposeful.

The room that had been his temporary shelter now felt devoid of the familiarity he had grown accustomed to in such a short time. It was a strange sensation, leaving behind one chapter to embark on the next.

With his belongings secured, Muichiro took a moment to look around the room, as if saying a silent farewell to the space that had briefly been his own.

He then closed the door behind him and made his way towards Demeter's familia mansion, which was located on the northern side of Orario.

The Demeter Familia owns land on the outskirts of Orario which they farm to produce fruits and vegetables. Their produce is well-liked and considered as high quality across the city. Their home is also known as the Wheat Manor.

The sun hung low in the sky as he walked, casting a warm golden hue over the city. The bustling streets seemed to carry an air of activity.

As he approached the northern part of Orario he noticed that the architecture seemed to change. If before he saw houses made of Stone and brick, now he saw more made of wood and straw, and white stone.

But they weren't crudely made, far from it, they looked good, really good, he would know he was a carpenter in his old life after all.

To make money he would carve all types of dolls and toys and wore a mask so people wouldn't recognise him and avoid his stall.

As he walked through the streets he also noticed the increase in shops selling food, goods like chocolate, vegetables, soaps, perfumes and other things of interest.

What Muichiro would only find out later was all of these people selling goods were a part of the Demeter familia.

But finally, after walking for 30 minutes he made it to the Wheat Manor. The grandeur of the structure was impossible to ignore.

It stood as a testament to the power and influence of the goddess Demeter. Muichiro's steps were measured, his expression unchanged, as he approached the estate.

As he approached the gate, an old Looking gentleman with snow-white hair, and wearing a butler's uniform approached the Gate.

The Gates automatically opened and the two male guards standing on either side stepped aside.

"You must be Master Muichiro, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. My name is Cuthbert Dracon, I am Demeter-Sama's personal butler. Please do follow me inside, Demeter-sama is already waiting inside for you."

Muichiro nodded and stepped inside. Cuthbert also turned around and led the way inside, meanwhile, the gates began to close and the guards took their original place.

....

Inside, Demeter awaited him with a welcoming smile. "I'm glad you finally made it," she said, her voice carrying a genuine warmth. "Welcome to your new home, Muichiro."

He nodded in acknowledgement, his eyes taking in the surroundings. The mansion exuded an air of elegance and comfort, a stark contrast to the bustling environment outside.

It was a place that Muichiro would officially be calling his own now.

"Thank you for escorting him Cuthbert I can take things from here now." Demeter said with a warm smile.

"As you wish Demeter-sama, preparations for Master Muichiro's welcome shall also be complete in around two hours."

"Thanks, I'll take note, but if I forget please do come and find us," Demeter said before grabbing Muichiro's hand, dragging him with her.

Demeter guided him through the halls, introducing him to the various rooms and amenities the mansion had to offer.

She explained that his own room would be ready in a few days, but until then, he was welcome to make himself at home.

As they walked around, Demeter's words transitioned from practicalities to stories of her familia members and the type of people they were. Muichiro listened attentively, absorbing the information and insights she shared.

Finally, they arrived at a spacious room that overlooked a serene garden. "This will be your room once it's prepared," Demeter said, her smile holding a touch of anticipation.

Muichiro looked around the room, his gaze lingering on the large window that framed the view outside. He had never imagined himself in such surroundings.

As they left the room, Demeter's gaze met his, her eyes filled with a mixture of kindness and determination. "Muichiro, I'm honoured to have you in my familia," she said. "Your strength and potential are undeniable, and I believe we can achieve great things together."

Muichiro's lips quirked slightly, the closest he came to a smile. "I look forward to it," he replied, his voice steady.

With the promise of the future ahead, Muichiro took his first steps into the embrace of his new familia.

The journey he had begun was far from over, no it was just the beginning.

As Demeter walked beside him, her demeanour holding a sense of pride and affection, Muichiro felt a gentle tug at his heart.

It was a strange sensation, one he couldn't quite decipher. Her words resonated within him, reminding him of a certain someone.

Moon

The memory of his caretaker, her voice and guidance, came rushing back to him. She had showered him with care and affection, even when he couldn't comprehend emotions.

And now, standing beside Demeter, he couldn't help but draw a parallel between the two figures in his life.

As they continued to walk, Demeter's words became a soothing backdrop to his thoughts.

And then, as if pulled by an invisible force, Demeter's affectionate demeanour shifted.

With a sudden lunge, she wrapped her arms around Muichiro in a warm embrace. Caught off guard, Muichiro found himself pressed against her chest once again.

"Muichiro, you're just too cute!" Demeter exclaimed, her voice filled with genuine fondness. "I can't help myself!"

For a moment, Muichiro's mind raced as he grappled with the contact. But to his surprise, a subtle warmth spread through him. It was a sensation he hadn't experienced before.

As Demeter released him, her smile was as bright as the sun. "I'm sorry if that caught you off guard," she chuckled, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

Muichiro's lips twitched into a slight curve, a genuine response to the situation. "It's... fine," he admitted.

With that, Demeter's cheerful demeanour resumed as she continued to lead him through the mansion.

As they walked, Muichiro found himself looking forward to the days ahead.

With Demeter as his goddess and a new familia by his side, he was looking forward to what would happen in the future.
