Daily Bugle

Coming home from the gym last night, I spent some time doing all of my homework for the next week, so I wouldn't have to worry about it later, gaining some levels in math, physics, and biology comprehension in the process.

This reminded me that I should get some books on other skills like engineering, hacking, and coding later since I'm sure those would be useful. They will probably help out whenever crafting is added to the system too.

After finishing my homework late at night, I went to bed, not even bothering to set an alarm so I could sleep in longer.

That decision led to me waking up at 2 pm today, feeling well-rested after a 12-hour sleep. Seeing as I haven't felt hungry even once yet since becoming Peter Parker, I doubt I need sleep either, but that doesn't mean I'm going to stop sleeping or eating since I quite enjoy both of those activities, if you could even call them activities.

I do my usual morning routine of taking a shower, brushing my teeth, eating breakfast, etc., with the new addition of completing my daily training quest, this time putting my 3 points into wisdom. May did find it a bit weird how I suddenly decided to start running but supported the idea nonetheless.

Oh, by the way, I checked my quest list since I hadn't done that yet since getting the system and found a quest that I don't remember getting.

------------------------------

[Repeatable Quest - Gotta collect them all]

[Description - Collect all the infinity stones. Quest can be repeated for each separate infinity stone.]

[Reward - ?]

------------------------------

When did I get this? Did I start with this quest and just never notice?

I have no clue how to even start with this quest. If my memory serves me correctly, there are two infinity stones on earth right now, space and time. Neither is gettable for me right now.

The time stone is currently with the Ancient One, who would whoop my ass, no question. My only chance to get it would be to wait until the Ancient One dies and passes it to Dr. Strange to then steal it from him.

The space stone is inside the tesseract, which is probably easier for me to 'borrow', but I have no clue where it is stored right now. I think it was used for some experiments in the Avengers when Loki stole it, but I don't know where that testing site was or when it was delivered there.

Actually, wasn't the reality stone somewhere on earth too? I remember Jean Foster picking it up, but there is no chance in hell I'm going to find which random parking lot she found it at.

As for the other stones, they are all in outer space, way out of my reach... for now.

I push all thoughts regarding that quest out of my head for now as I have no possible way to even begin completing that and focus on my plan for today, which is to spend the day as Spiderman, patrolling the city and hopefully making a bit of a name for myself. Oh, and leveling up as well, of course.

I don't want to attempt going out the window of my room in broad daylight as spiderman lest I get a visit from Nick Fury. Instead, I put on the suit under my regular clothes and travel downtown in those, moving into a quiet alleyway on my first opportunity.

There I put my normal clothes in the inventory and put on the spiderman mask before climbing up the wall to reach the roof.

The last time I wore the suit and went out, it was dark out, and I was on the outskirts of the city, so not many people even saw me. Those who did and reacted in time to take pictures uploaded them on some forums, and these posts have now gathered a lot of attention.

The replies of those posts are basically warzones with a very loud minority believing a new costumed hero like the Fantastic Four has taken to the streets while most just think those pictures are photoshopped.

After today, nobody will question whether or not Spiderman is real.

Before I am ready to jump off the edge of the building and start my patrol, I look through the different radio stations to see if any of them are covering me, and to my surprise, a familiar voice has taken an interest.

"Thank you, everyone, for tuning in to the Daily Bugle radio station and listening to this Sunday's episode of 'Just The Facts with J. Jonah Jameson'." The voice yells loud enough for me to have to turn down the volume.

"I am, of course, your host J. Jonah Jameson and today we have something important to discuss. You see, the past few days, I have been hearing rumors about a new costumed, so-called hero taking the law into their own hands and knocking about criminals. There have been sightings of him around a street in queens where he allegedly saved a person from a group of gangsters in a construction site."

That's right. It's J.J. Jameson, famous for being a big fan of Spiderman. Not. I have only gone out once, yet this man has already sniffed me out somehow.

I continue listening to the show. "Well, today I am here to put these rumors to the rest with an exclusive interview with the person who this so-called hero saved, Jose Rodriguez. Please tell our viewers a short summary of your story."

Oh? I remember that name from when I was using observe on everyone that night, it's the construction worker I saved. Go on, man, prove Jameson wrong!

"Thank you for having me on the show, Mr. Jameson. It was Friday when I was inspecting the work late at night, and these gangsters grouped around me with baseball bats and started threatening me when suddenly a man in a costume calling himself Spiderman appeared and saved me from them."

That's quite a summary of those events, but it's not necessarily wrong. As he finishes, Jameson starts speaking again. I can't see him, but for some reason, I can imagine spit flying from his mouth with every word.

"Now, mister Rodriguez, when we went over the events in detail before the show, you said at one point the leader of these criminals had a knife to your neck and demanded this Spiderman to unmask himself and surrender, is that correct?"

"Yes, that would be correct," Rodriguez confirms.

"And did Spiderman comply with his orders, or did he put your life at risk just to keep his identity a secret?" Jameson pushes on.

"Well, he didn't take his mask off, but he di-" Rodriguez clearly tries to defend me but has his words cut off by Jameson.

"That's right, all you folks who are listening, can we really call Spiderman a hero when he puts the lives of innocent people risk like this. Not to mention taking the law into his own hands, doing the work of the police, and causing numerous injuries to people, even if they were criminals."

Rodriguez tries to say something else but gets muted before he even finishes his first word.

"This has been 'Just The Facts with J. Jonah Jameson', please tune in next time as we discuss whether the Fantastic Four are heroes defending this city or villains out to destroy it."

With that statement, Jameson's show ends, and the channel continues with regular news. One thing is clear, Jameson is a big fan of mine. I mean, really, I haven't even had the chance to debut yet properly, and he is already infatuated with me.

I am about to turn off the news and get started on spidermanning, but the first headline catches my attention.

"Last night at approximately 3 am, a man by the name of Flint Marko escaped from a high-security prison and is suspected to still be hiding somewhere near New York. If you have any information on the whereabouts of this criminal, please call 911 immediately."

Flint Marko? It takes me a minute of thinking until I remember him being Sandman in the original trilogy. I guess that's another possible villain I have to look out for, in addition to Electro, who is still out there somewhere.

The following news aren't anywhere as exciting, so I switch from the Daily Bugle over to police radios and get started on my patrol.
