Chapter 1A new world!

Ash Miller sat down on his couch, excited. He had just bought the latest Doraemon movie and was ready to finally watch it. He grinned, remote in hand, about to press play when his stomach growled.

"Ugh, of course," he groaned, standing up. He walked to the kitchen and opened the fridge, only to find it empty. "Seriously? Not a single snack?" He sighed and grabbed his keys. "Guess I have to go get something to eat first."

Ash left his apartment, walking down the street toward the nearest convenience store. It was a quiet day, with only a few people around. As he strolled along, thinking about the movie, something strange caught his eye. A person in a big, fluffy Doraemon costume was walking down the road, looking completely lost.

Ash chuckled. "Must be some kind of promotion or something."

But then, something felt off. The mascot wasn't looking around at all, and as Ash's eyes drifted down the street, he saw it—a truck barreling toward the mascot. The person in the costume didn't seem to notice.

Without thinking, Ash sprinted forward. "Hey, watch out!" he shouted, pushing the mascot out of the way just in time. But he couldn't save himself. The truck hit him, and everything went black.

Ash groaned as he slowly opened his eyes. His head was pounding, and everything felt… off. He blinked, trying to focus, and saw a ceiling that wasn't his own. Confused, he sat up and looked around.

"Where… where am I?" he mumbled.

The room was small, with a desk, a chair, and a mirror hanging on the wall. There were posters of bands he didn't recognize. Ash rubbed his eyes, trying to think. "This isn't my place."

He stumbled out of bed, heading for the mirror. When he saw his reflection, his heart skipped a beat. The face staring back at him wasn't his own. It was younger, a lot younger, with a different hairstyle. His hands flew to his face, touching the unfamiliar features.

"What the… What happened to me?" he whispered, backing away from the mirror. Panic started to build up inside him. "Is this… a dream?"

His gaze fell on a desk in the corner. Papers were scattered across it. He picked one up, his hands shaking. It was a school schedule with the name "Ash Miller" at the top.

"That's my name," he muttered, trying to make sense of things. But it didn't feel like his life anymore. "What is going on?"

Suddenly, his head started to ache even more. It felt like something was pushing into his brain, something heavy. Then, like a floodgate had opened, memories that weren't his started rushing in. They were fast and disjointed at first—flashes of school, grief, loneliness.

The previous owner of this body had just lost his parents in a car accident. He had moved to a new apartment and was getting ready to start at Midtown High School in a few days. Ash clutched his head, feeling the pain as all the memories settled.

"Oh man, this is real," he whispered, breathing heavily. "This kid… his life…" He could feel the sadness of losing parents, the pressure of starting fresh. "This isn't a dream. I've really taken over someone else's life."

As the confusion slowly cleared, something from the memories stood out—Midtown High. Ash's eyes widened. "Wait a minute… Midtown High?" He sat down, trying to process everything. "That's… that's where Spider-Man goes!"

He laughed in disbelief, but it quickly turned into a nervous chuckle. "I'm going to the same school as the future Spider-Man? This is insane. Completely insane."

The more he thought about it, the more his mind raced. "Does that mean Peter Parker is here too? Has he even gotten bitten yet?" Ash ran a hand through his hair, trying to calm down. "And what about all the other heroes? They aren't around yet… but they're going to be."

His head was still spinning, and he tried to gather his thoughts. "Okay, so I'm in some sort of early Marvel world. No Spider-Man, no Iron Man, no Avengers… but they'll show up eventually. And I'm stuck here, in some random kid's body, about to go to high school with Peter freaking Parker."

It felt surreal, but the memories from the body he now inhabited were proof enough. The previous Ash was real, his feelings were real, and this new life was very much real.

After calming himself down, Ash turned to the computer on the desk. He needed more answers. Quickly, he searched for anything he could find about the world. It didn't take long to find mentions of mutants.

"Mutants are real here?" he muttered, reading through an article. "And… Charles Xavier?"

He knew that name. "Isn't he from the X-Men?" The realization hit him harder now. This wasn't just some random Marvel world—this was the real deal. There were mutants, but they were still hidden. No big superhero teams yet, just small-time vigilantes like Daredevil.

Ash rubbed his face, trying to process it all. "I'm living in a Marvel world. I'm going to school with Spider-Man. Mutants are real… and it's 2007."

It felt like too much. But he couldn't deny it anymore. "Okay… so I'm really here."

He stared at the screen for a moment before leaning back in his chair. "Guess I'm on my own for now," he muttered to himself, wondering what kind of life was waiting for him in this strange, new world.
