Berries & The Adventure Begins

Choosing not to think about Luca's glare, I look at my companions to talk about our next move. "So, what do we do now?" But Hops beat me to the punch.

"I'm honestly not sure, but I feel like we should get to know each other better before we officially leave out." I say in response. "Ooh, you mean our likes and dislikes?" Hops asks in excitement, while clapping her hands.

"I believe he means our abilities, moves and the likes." Eva answers, looking at me for confirmation." Yep, that's exactly what I meant." I confirm with a smile.

"Oh, Okay. I'll go first!" Hops volunteers to go first, causing all eyes to turn towards her.

"My name is Hops. I hatched around a week ago. My abilities include Limber and Klutz. I know how to use the moves Defense Curl, Frustration, Foresight, Splash, and Pound. Oh, also my favorite berry is watmel berries, and my favorite color is Yellow!" Hops quickly gave us a list of her abilities and known moves, while also giving us some extra information.

I thank Hops before directing my attention to Eva.

"Guess, it's my turn." Eva says as she takes a moment to compose herself. "My name is Evangeline, you all may call me Eva. As you know I'm a Shiny Raltz, my abilities are Trace and Telepathy. I know how to use Growl, Confusion, Double team, Icy Wind, and Telekinesis. Also, since Hops shared hers, I quite like oran berries; and my favorite color is blue, the same shade as my hair." Eva introduced with a sense of elegance emanating from her, but all my attention was on the fact she could use Icy Wind and Telekinesis. "Why can you use Icy Wind?"

"My mother taught me how to use both Telekinesis and Icy Wind. She said it was so that I could protect myself better." She explained clearing up quite a bit of my confusion, but I still had something else to ask. "How long did it take for you to learn them."

"Icy Wind took around 4-5 months, but Telekinesis was much easier in comparison taking a little over a month. I think it might because of my ability Telepathy."

Hearing her answer helped me quite a bit. It helps confirm just how 'real' this world is gonna be. "Hmm, guess that means as long as we train we can learn just about any move." I mutter to myself, but apparently it was loud enough for the others to hear. "I don't think that's correct. I pretty sure you're limited by what type of Pokémon you are.'

" What, but you're a Fairy and Psychic type. By that logic you shouldn't be able to learn Icy Wind." I say in retaliation.

"You're right but I didn't mean type like Fairy and Fighting, I meant how I'm a Raltz and Jules is a Riolu. I'm sure there's moves that I can learn that she can't and vice versa." She calmly explains, causing me to wonder if all Pokémon are limited to learning only the moves they could learn in the games.

Now I'm not sure if it's because she didn't understand our conversation or if she just wanted to say it earlier. But Hops loudly, blurted out, "I've been learning how to use Hyper Voice. I haven't fully learned it yet, maybe in another week or two."

"That's good to know Hops, I'm sure you'll have plenty of time to learn while we're on our adventure." I say in response to her outburst. No matter how random it was, she did manage to stop me from drawing a conclusion on something I don't have nearly enough information about.

I decided to bring the topic back to more in depth intros, I introduced myself, my abilities, my move set, and even added in the extra stuff Hops had tacked on at the end. "Alright, let's get back on track. My name is Jay. My abilities are Moxie, and Intimidate. I can use the moves Leer, Headbutt, Dragon Dance, Fire Punch, and Thunder Punch. I don't have a favorite berry yet, I've only eaten a watmel berry, though that was delicious. My favorite colors are black and purple."

After my intro they all showed a face of surprise, mainly Eva. "I get Leer and Headbutt, but I'm pretty sure it's uncommon for you, a recently hatched Scraggy, to know Dragon Dance, Fire Punch, and Thunder Punch. Hmmm, it's more than likely because of our father."

"You're probably right, but it sounds like y'all didn't get a similar benefit?" I say in a questioning tone at the end.

"No." x3

They all replied with a no, even Jules who hasn't said anything the entire time. I truthfully almost forgot about her, with how quiet she's been. "Interesting, but I think Jules is the only one who needs to go. Then I think we should get some berries before heading out."

" I believe that's the right move."

"Yay, we're definitely bringing watmel berries!"

Hops and Eva both agree before we all turn our attention towards Jules.

"Ah... ehm... I..." Apparently we startled Jules because she made some sounds before looking at the ground out of shyness. I pretty sure she would be blushing if she could. 'Wait can she? Even if she could we wouldn't know because of her fur.' I was getting sidetracked. So after shaking the stray thoughts away I comforted Jules. "It's okay Jules, we're all friends here. Right?"

"Yeah!"

"Indeed."

I don't know why, but that seemed to work. Jules took a moment to gather her courage; then she spoke in a soft voice. "I- I'm Jules. M-my favorite berry is the Tamato be-berry and I like the color or-orange. My ability is s-Steadfast. I know the moves Foresight, Endure, Feint, Counter, Quick Attack, Focus Punch, and Iron Defense. I-I've also been learning Vacuum Wave."

After she finished, she looked up from the ground, that her gaze had wandered to during her intro, and saw our smiling faces. Hops even gave her a hug because how happy she was." You did great Jules! And why the tamato berry?"

"I-I like how ju-juicy they are." Jules managed sputter out in her embarrassment. "Watmel berries are juicy too." Hops said with a pout.

"I kn-know, but they're on the sweeter side." Jules explains. Hops pouted deeper, " What's wrong with sweet?"

"No-nothing! I just pre-prefer tamato berries." Jules responded while waving her hands trying to dismiss the misunderstanding.

Hops at this point started laughing. "*Pfft, hahahahah....* Whoo, I'm sorry Jules. I was just messing with you a bit. It's fine that you like what you like. I just couldn't resist teasing you."

Hearing what Hops said, Jules practically had steam coming from her head because how embarrassed she is. "Alright alright, enough messing with Jules and let's decide where to go after we get our berries."

"Boo." Hops replied with a pouted.

"I think our best move is to head towards Veilstone City. We can see if there's anything interesting in a human city, and plan our next move after." Eva suggested in her usual calm voice.

"I don't have any particular problems with that, any other suggestions?" I ask addressing the other two.

"Mm mnm." Jules shook her head no. Hops did have something to say though. "I'm fine with that, but can we go to the ocean at some point? I've always wanted to see the ocean!"

"Sure that sounds fine. Any objections?"

"No."

"None at all."

"Okay then, it seems like we got a plan then. Berries, Veilstone, and then The Ocean."

"Yay!" Hops said while clapping.

"Let's go grab our berries, we have a long journey ahead of us." Eva says before leading the way towards the lake.

"You heard her, Let's go!" I say before following after her.

"Woohoo." Hops said before grabbing Jules and dragging her along behind herself.

Following behind Eva we quickly get to the lake. When we arrive there's even more Pokémon than last time I was here. I not sure if it is cause it's lunch time or because all our parents are here, but it seems like the whole family has gathered here. It appears Sue, Gia, and Viv have brought their children over to eat, because I can see a few Evees, a couple Mareep/Flaaffy, and some other Ralts, besides Eva. There was even Dratini and Dragonair slithering about.

As we walk along the left side of the lake I can see my father on the opposite side, living his best life. He's currently balls deep inside the Aggron from earlier. Surrounding those two is Viv, the Blaziken, Lola, Luca, and my mother, Scarlett. My dad seemily sensed my gaze because he took a moment to look in my direction. After making eye contact and smiling towards me and my companions, he then proceeded to thrust especially hard before turning his attention back to fucking the Aggron.

Ignoring the brief moment with my father, we continued walking up to Thea, who was currently handing a berry to a Combusken. "Hey, Thea."

"Jay, what are you doing here? Thought you would've been gone by now."

"We're about to head out, but we decided to stop by and get some berries for the road before we leave." I say in response.

"Alright then, go talk to Sue over there she should be able to get them for you." She said nudging her head towards the Vaporeon.

"Thanks! And it was nice meeting you Thea. Hope to see you again soon." I shout while walking towards Sue.

"Nice to meet you to kid. Don't die!" Thea shouts back.

I smile in response before arriving in front of Sue. We quickly explain why we're here and she seemingly knew about it because she put 4 small sacks, with berries in them, in front of us. She tells us our father figured we'd come here and had her prepare them. This surprised all of us, but I'm gonna chalk it up to my dad's slightly eccentric personality.

After taking our sacks of berries and confirming which direction Veilstone is in, We officially began our adventure!

'Man, I can't wait to see what this world has in store for me!'
