Bentlee's POV

"wake up now!" Aunt Jackie screamed in my ears as if the world was going to end in that second. Sometimes I wonder if she's really my aunt or just trying to leach off me. "Who's going to pay your rent, you better go to work now, it's 7:15am", she continued. On hearing what time it was, I jumped out of bed and ran towards the bathroom. After having a quick shower, I dressed in a white chiffon blouse with ruffles and a plain short black skirt. I tied my hair in a pony tail, wore my shoes and rushed out of the house without eating breakfast.

I stopped at Café Lira to buy a cappuccino to fuel my day.

I got to work at 8:15am, only 15 minutes late, which got me yelled at along with two other people who were also late.

"Do you think you are payed to come to work whenever you feel like it?" Mr. Richard roared.

I work at Del Loona Experience company, which deals with trade. I'm just a common office worker, no high position, no powerful sugar daddy or boyfriend, no friend in power to help me rise either. I have to scratch my way to the top and with how much my immediate boss doesn't like me, It might take 6000 years or more to get to the top.

After some hours, it was finally lunch break...yes!

I headed to the cafeteria to buy some bread rolls.

"Hey Lee!" I heard a male voice say. I turned around and saw Kevin Sanders, a man that worked in the highest department in this company as a normal clerk, but working as an ordinary clerk in that department earns him six times my salary. Argh!!!

"Hey Kev", I replied kindly. We've been friends since I began working in this company 2 years ago.

"Let's eat together" he suggested and i nodded.

We sat at a table and i chowed on my meal while Kevin complained about how I only eat bread.

"If you keep eating this all the time, you'll have a big head" he said pointing at my bread rolls which made me chuckle.

"Even with a big head, I won't be ugly" I said making him smile.

He was eating chicken lasagna as the rich man he was. I sighed and continued eating my bread rolls.

We talked for a while about work and other stuff until lunch time was over and we had to go to our respective departments, his all the way on the top floor and mine on the 3rd floor.

As I sat down and got back to typing a report for our departmental head, the door to the passage was pushed open with force. I stopped what I was doing and glanced. WTF! Was all I could think. My boss was walking furiously to the middle of the room. He took what seemed like a minute to calm down before speaking.

"As you all have noticed, the office has become busier and this is because our company is about to get the biggest client they have ever and will ever get. None of the staff are to misbehave while the deal is going on which will last for about a month or two. Which means, no late coming so I don't have to yell, no making a scene anywhere because you will be fired, these clients are more important and tripling your work efforts to make sure Del Loona Experience seems efficient", he said as if his words were final.

None of us could complain or we would be laid off. What the actual Fuck!!!!! I have already been having 4 hour sleep sessions because of the normal work schedule and now they want me to triple my efforts? ARGH!!!!!!

I couldn't quit because I knew I had bills to pay and I probably am the only one here paying rent to my relatives for living with them. Being an orphan sucks all the way. I can't even run away because I don't have that much money. All i could do was accept what was going on.

"When we get the deal, your salaries will be doubled, that's all" Mr Richard said and walked away. I heard all manner of curses from people's mouths, but in whispered forms because as much as they hated it, they couldn't quit too.

At 5pm, work was over and after what our boss said today, we had to bring our A game by tomorrow. I was fucking exhausted already.

I took the bus home...yeah the bus because I pay in coins and I don't have the money for a cab.

On reaching home, I changed and reviewed some work papers i was given before going down for dinner. I also pay for food in this house... It was rice and curry with beef. The portion was small which wasn't nearly enough, but it was what my measly salary could afford.

My relatives make me pay for water, electricity, food, rent, etc as a means to make money because their own children are lazy asses. What a life!
