Chapter 1: The Thornhouse.

' Unarmed and as charmingly known for her beauty' Abigail woods stood dumbstruck at the unfolding scene. It was her brother...and her boyfriend, ' together '. Well, not that Damien knew he was dating her yet.

Her tear stained face became red, furious, she squished the red roses in her hand and ran outdoor.

" Oh boy" Rosalie, sighed. She wondered how Abi could have been so blind to realize Damien was gay, and her brother.

"Abi!!!" She called out to her, she quickly hanged the mop on the line and ran after her into the woods.

" Abi! wait, there's plenty of fish in the sea!" She said trying to catch up with her. Rosalie never the fast runner. Whenever there are any cross country tournaments at school, she's always the last to finish.

" Gosh, go away, I don't need your sympathy right now!!!! " Abi shouted at her rudely and slowly disappeared into the trees. Rosalie didn't dare go any further because the owners had forbidden all the stuff to wonder into the woods. Although for Abi, Rosalie would notice her disappear into the forest from time to time. She never asked her because she knew what the answer would be. ' I don't know what your talking about '

The clock struck twelve in the afternoon, meaning the family's meeting would comence soon. She ran back to the kitchen.

" Rose, have you seen Abi?" Jack, Abi's brothers asked Rosalie.

"um...no?"

" Where is the nonsense? where is she?" Ms Curtis, the head maid, yelled at Rosalie the second she entered whilst pinching down her ear.

" Oww, oww, I don't know Ms Curtis I don't know where she wentexactly. I haven't seen her." She lied, then guilt crept in.

" Non- stands for nothing, that's why she's be when I find her!!!!!, it'll definitely make ' Sence' ." The head maid said and pushed Rosalie aside then grinned at her, " you'll have to provide Mrs with Tea. " by Mrs she meant the elder lady of the house; the owner, who is ' suspiciously too gorgeous for her age but strange.' she thought.

" Me? May I please pass on this one Ms Curtis, I am just a lowly maid, I cannot possibly imagine myself going upstairs. " Rose debated cautiously.

Ms Curtis glared at her " Now, is a good time"

Rosalie washed her hands then prepared tea.

This would be her first time encountering the house-holder, similarly the first time she would step upstairs the Mansion since she belonged to the cleaning department and her position only needed her to look after the kitchen or clean out the junk room.

The Mansion upstairs was sligtly dimer, the halls were wide and gray in color with the modern architecture and vintage portraits. The were so many doors and the corridors where too quiet, and suspenseful. Rosalie arrived at the indifferent lady of the house's door. ' Merriam Thornhouse ' was carved in gold on the blood-red door. The door itself omitted a devilish aura that suited the owners personality well. the Three knocks on the door then it flew open.

Her mouth dropped when she saw the huge room, unlike the rest of the Mansion, the room was dim and dark. The curtains where closed, the walls where pale whilst the bed stood on the far middle, golden clothed, with vintage antique appliances around the room. She felt as if evil lived in here but if not evil...then loneliness. Everything looked old-fashioned and clean yet felt so dark

" Mrs....Mrs Thornhouse? Your tea. " Rosalie stuttered, her words coming out a faint whisper. " Your tea is here Mrs Thornhouse. " She said but only silence greeted her. The room was empty, it seemed as if it hadn't been used in days. That was odd, considering she had seen the family vehicle arrive in the morning.

Rosalie took a deep breath, and stepped into the room, this was permitted if a passel was being handed in. She slowly walked over to the huge bed and put the tray there. As she was about to leave, something caught her attention, more like an unusual feeling, not darkness, but recognition. This felt odd to her considering she was still a new maid.

It was saddening for her being around, but the urge of opening with curtains to allow some light in got to her. She slowly walked towards the window, faintly touching the beaten headdress, to the single couch then the curtains. Curiosity. " I wonder how the view here looks."

" Spectacular." She jerked up and gasped, turning away from the window as her hands left the curtain. " A fascinating view, remarkable. " The man infront of her said. As tall and unimaginably handsome as said, he stood, scrutinizing her with an interrogative look.

Her heart beat faster than normal, she didn't dare move, or speak, neither look away from him. This was the Raphael Thornhouse, in the flesh.

" What are you doing here?" he asked strictly, in an authoritative tone which contradicted the look he gave Rose. For a moment she thought she saw hope in them, only for a moment.

" I...I'm.i ...I apologize Mr Thornhouse. I..I didn't find Mrs Thornhouse in the room...her...her tea." Rosalie stuttered, she was literally shaking, on the verge of tears, she immediately broke the eye contact and stared at the floor waiting for him to dismiss her. Mr Thornhouse took a few steps towards her, then before she could request to leave, she saw he's arm moving to her, but not her, the curtain behind her. They were now an inch apart, bodies nearly brushing against each other, she gasped when he opened the curtain then breathed out the smoke from the cigarette. He came closer, cause Rosalie to take a step back and hit the window. Rose was trapped between him. Rays of light flooded through the window, the room brighten up, lightening the golden architecture. She looked up a him

' Breathtakingly beautiful ' she thought, but not about the room, but the man an inch from her. The light shone brightly at him, complimenting he's pale skin and every millimeter of he's feature

Rose had come across a few noble man in her sixteen years of life, but him, he was out of this world. The papers got that right. He was extraordinarily gorgeous.

" There you have it." he said, he's sight directed through the window. She, on the other hand was occupied in drooling over him without listening.

" You may, leave now." is what brought her back to planet earth. She jerked up again, then turned to look through out the window and saw waterfalls after waterfalls. The view was beautiful itself too, the green hills and a few sheep far out. On this side of the mention there weren't any forest trees. She gazed outside only for a while " Now, would be best." he said seriously making her snap.

" Yes, yes, yes sir." She said and sprinted out of the room, before she closed the door, she saw him looking out as if he were searching for something. She closed the door and went back downstairs...where she belongs.
