~MC POV~

"Where... where am I?" I groaned as I sat up in a bed I didn't recognize. Every bone in my body ached and pain shot through me any little bit I moved. I could taste the dust in my mouth and from a broken window, light streamed in hurt my eyes.

.

I slowly stood up and the world swayed. My legs buckled under me and I hit the floor, hard. Only then did I realize that the bed I was on, was a heavily worn mattress on a pile of cement blocks that had seen better days.

.

"Great," I mumble to myself as I lay on the floor, "I drank so much I passed out somewhere and I have no idea where."

.

I pushed myself into a sitting position as I surveyed my new surroundings. A solid cobblestone ground. Stone walls and beams overhead with a few high, small windows. So far I could understand I was in a basement of some kind. The bed, if I can even call it that, was situated in a corner of the room with a metal desk off its head and a footlocker at its base. Near the center of the room was a worn couch and chair with a coffee table in front of them.

Off to one side was an old stove and an old fridge, both of which looked like they came from the 1960s. The opposite side had two different workbenches. One looked like it was made with reloading bullets in mind and the other looked like a worktable with all the furnishings. At the farthest wall was a set of stairs leading up with a dresser flanking either side of the stars.

.

'Well, let's see where I am.' I thought to myself as I got up once more. Trudging over to the stars, I passed the couch and everything else without a second glance. Not bothering to spar anything else a glance.

.

As I reached the bottom of the stairs, something caught my eye on one of the dressers. It looked as if someone made a replica of a laser pistol from Fallout. And it looked like it was the real deal. But, it seemed smaller than the one seen in the games.

The urge I had when I saw it, well I couldn't help myself. I gently picked the thing up and pointed it at the wall on the far side. I could tell I had a crazed smile as I pulled the trigger. And boy was I right about it being real. A thin, red laser shot out from the barrel and left a smoking, black spot slightly left where I aimed. And the best part? It had almost no recoil.

.

"HOLY SHIT!" I shouted as my finger ejected itself from the trigger as I pulled the gun straight up. 'Ether I am in the Fallout universe or someone was crazy enough to actually make one.' I thought as I slowly put the laser gun back in the dresser.

.

I rather not take the chance of getting a hole in my leg if it went off accidentally. And with that out of my mind, I slowly walked up the stairs while trying to remember all that I could about the Fallout world. Granted, it wasn't much that I could recall. I loved the games, but I would never want to be in that world.

From what I can remember, the big players in this world are the NCR, Ceasar's Legion, Mr. House, BOS, Minutemen, Children of Atom, and the Institute. With numerous small-time factions scattered across the wasteland of America. And that's just the human factions and not all the mutations that the flora and fauna have gone through.

Then count in all the drugs that fuckup your head, it's a miracle that people like the Fiends from New Vegas aren't that big of a deal compared to the other big names. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. If this is my real world now, I can't even imagine what wasn't even mentioned. God knows what else is there I don't even know about.

My mind wandered to the numerous possibilities that it could be. By the time I noticed, I had reached the top of the stairs and found a latter with a solid metal hatch above it. My only guess was that it leads outside. But to where was anyone's guess.

As I grabbed a rung on the latter, a transparent blue and grey screen appeared in front of my eyes.
