What he does remember is that he slept in his room, had a very, very vivid night, and next thing he knew, the sun was up, warming his face, and he was lying down in the grass in the wilderness. Oh, and most importantly, he's now a goblin. That wasn't right, and despite his fragmented memory David knew he had to go back. He didn't want to live like this, or spend the rest of his life as a small, pathetic goblin.
