I was born into a world where people harbour strange abilities. They call these abilities quirks, and 80% of the world has them. The other 20% are those who don't have them and they're treated like shit. They get abused and bullied at school, they're seen as the trash in society.
What I am is seen as far worse than being quirkless. They see those like me as worse than trash, why you ask? It's because of how they were raised, and what they were made to believe.
"Come on sweetheart, push" said the man.
"Ahhhhh" said the woman
"Congratulations, it's twins" said the nurse while handing the two boys over to their mother.
"Hey guys, I'm your mom you guys are so beautiful" said the mother of the children.
"Let me hold one darling" said the father with a soft smile while taking one the children from the mother.
"You kids will grow up to be fine men and we'll be there every step of the way". Exclaimed the father while patting the child's back.
————————three years later———————-
"hey mom are we gonna play today" Sora said with a bright smile.
"Sorry sweetheart, we can't I'm going to a meeting with your father" said Sora's mother with a sad expression.
"Come on just for a little bit" exclaimed Rei, Sora's younger brother.
"I promise to play with you guys after so behave for the maids, ok" she said while patting both Sora's and Rei's hairs.
It wasn't hard to tell who was who, after all they were different. Sora had black hair and blue eyes, while Rei had Snow White hair and blue eyes. Sora inherited his fathers hair colour while Rei inherited his mother's hair colour. Though they both shared their mothers eye colour, blue. That wasn't the only way to tell them apart. Sora had a small mole under his left eye, while Rei had nothing on his face. They were both expected to grow up very handsome since they were already good looking for their age.
Sora had a good childhood, he always got what he wanted and was cared about and loved by his family. Until the day it all went down hill. His parents owned a multi million dollar company, but all good things come to an end eventually. The company went bankrupt and they had to start using their savings to get by. They had a large sum of money but not enough to last them forever. However they still never treated their kids badly, and always cared for them. Was that truly love though or was it something else? They expected great things out of their kids, they both had strong quirks. Their father had a telekinesis quirk and the mother had a weak light manipulation quirk. She could make small objects like needles or screws out of light. They expected their children to have a strong light manipulation quirk or at least a strong telekinesis quirk.
Time passed and they went to the quirk doctors.
"Are you nervous" their parents asked.
Rei nodded while Sora was confident and exclaimed "I'll be the next number one hero". They then broke out in laughter calling Sora cocky. It was all laughs and jokes until they arrived. The air suddenly became heavy, and Sora noticed. Sora was more perceptive and smarter than kids his age. He didn't bother paying anymore attention to it because he was excited to know what his quirk was.
The doctors called Rei up first and they found what his quirk was relatively easily. His quirk was a way stronger quirk than his mother's, Light Manipulation. When he activated his quirk his eyes glistened and became brighter. Seeing this Sora got even more excited and when up to check what his quirk was.
"Your sons quirk is just as incredibly strong as Rei's, it's Darkness" said the quirk doctor.
Sora thought this was cool, but he looked up and saw the disgust in his parents eyes.
"Thank you doc, well it's time to go home you two" Sora's father said with a forced smile.
They left for the car and while they were driving it was so silent you could her a pen drop. When they got home it was different. They started to fawn over Rei and ignore Sora. 'What did I do' thought Sora, he was young so he didn't know it why it was happening. He mustered up the courage to ask his parents, and what happened shocked him. He got beat so hard, he was bleeding at one point.
"You're so useless, you and your villain quirk can never become a hero. You can only sponge of my money, so do everyone a favour and shut the fuck up brat" his father said while screaming at him.
Sora was heart broken, he found out that they didn't love him anymore. Having this trauma led him to be more reserved. Though this didn't let him get discouraged it pushed him even harder, he practiced harder with his quirk and noticed something. When he was using his quirk his eyes became red with vertical slits. It was reptile like, and he thought it was cool but he understood why it would be seen as villainous. His quirk was strong, it allowed him to control darkness and shape it, he even found another thing about his quirk. He gets stronger with negative emotions and fear and is able to store it and unleash it whenever he feels like.( basically ecanor but not sunlight and he doesn't transform, only gains more strength)
———————skip 4 years—————
Sora was now 8 and has been getting beat harder lately. He hasn't talked to his brother since as they were speared. They didn't want Rei to "get infected" as their parents said. Sora was fed but wasn't allowed to talk to anyone, or see anyone other than when being beat. He was isolated from humanity, he was given books to study but no one to teach him. He was being treated as a dangerous animal, and was getting fed up with it. He made huge amounts of progress with his power. After all that's all he could do to pass the time other than study, and since he was lonely he created what he calls "Shadow Beasts". They ranged from humans, animals, to even mythical beasts. Though they couldn't talk and could only follow instructions, it still kept him somewhat sane, but that little amount of sanity was slowly disappearing.
