Outer Court Competition

Finally after a nice long hot bath he went out to greet his roommates. This time he was dressed properly in his outer court robes as he looked at the 3 sitting in the living room.

Jake: "I think introductions are in order. Hi my name is Jake, I don't have a last name."

Quickly the three of them snapped out of their little daze before Yuki moved up to stand in front of him.

Yuki: "S-sorry about before~ my name is Yuki Thorn. It's a pleasure meet you hands- Jake! Hehe~"

It surprised him a little that a women who looks more reserved then most would just all of a sudden compliment him like that at their first meeting. This caused his face to heat up a little showing a minor blush only barely noticeable.

Jake: "Well… thank you for the compliment and the pleasure is all mine beautiful~"

At this point he was just going with the flow, he didn't want to make the situation awkward since he hasn't really had a normal conversation in years. So he decided to finish the little chat with a compliment seeing as she did the same for him.

Rai: "Ahem. I hope you don't expect all of us to call you handsome! Haha"

Rai couldn't help but laugh at the little moment that was happening before his eyes. What was this? Isn't this supposed to be a introduction? Why did the both of them start flirting with each other as soon as they meet!

Rai: "Anyways my name is Rai Thorn and this is Connor White. He's a family friend that has been with us since birth basically!"

Jake looked at the other two a little embarrassed as he got lost in Yuki's eyes moments ago. Soon he pulled his head away with a bigger blush then before, even Yuki was a tomato red when she realized how much she was admiring the other.

Jake: "W-well it's nice to meet you all. I'm new to the cultivation world so I'll be relying on you guys to help me adjust! Of course I'll help wherever I can as well when you need me."

He began to scratch the back of his head feeling a little awkward as he looked at the three of them. Almost like he was trying to gauge what their reaction would be.

Little did he know that they soon had the same shocked face as a couple hours ago! He didn't realize that he had just told them that he's not been cultivating for long but he's already at the 5th stage of Body Tempering!

Rai: "…Wait a minute… if you don't mind me asking, how long have you been cultivating for?"

Jake stopped to ponder for a second before looking at the three.

Jake: "2 days and 1 night… I've been constantly breaking down and reconstructing my body for the past couple days just to not feel like a weakling anymore. Right now I'm just taking a break from that torture to get to know you three and to see if there is any events or anything coming up soon."

Rai and Connor at this point just couldn't believe anything they were hearing. Yuki on the other hand just decided to stop being surprised and went to stand beside him with a look of admiration in her eyes.

Yuki: "Actually in 2 days the outer court will be having a competition to rank the outer court disciples. Depending on our results we will be given rewards such as pills all the way up to techniques and spirit stones! I even heard that first place will be getting a spatial ring!"

Jake was honestly shocked about the familiar but foreign terms. He couldn't help but think back to the different anime and manga that have had these items. If the creators knew that they where spot on with their imagination they would probably jump for joy!

Jake: "Well then we best get to practicing huh? I don't know about you 3 but I'm dying to see how strong everyone is here! I can't wait!"

Unconsciously he began to act a little more like Sebastian in that moment. Even though they may be separate personalities they both originated from Jake just more focused on specific parts of his identity.

Yuki: "Well… I don't know about the other 2 but I'm not ready to go up on stage and fight like that yet. I don't feel I am capable of winning a fight against someone else at the moment so I'll just be cheering you on handsome~"

As she was saying those words her hands slowly came up and without her even realizing it she was already caressing his arm and chest as she looks up at him with a blush spread across her face.

Jake: "… If you keep looking at me with those eyes I'll think that you'll want to spend the next couple days in my room instead of your own."

He was a little shocked at how forward she was being, that was until all of a sudden she looked to her hands after his words and quickly pulled them away to hold her face trying to hide from the embarrassment.

Yuki: "S-sorry… I don't know what came over me.. it's just every time I look at you I can't help but want to feel you…"

Yuki didn't know what else to say but tell the truth as she turned around before jumping into the couch to hide herself.

Jake: "…Ok then. I guess we will just have a talk about that later hopefully when we aren't in front of your brother and best friend."

He coughed into his hand as he looked at the two dumbfounded guys staring at the both of them.

Rai: "No no keep going. This is the first time I've seen my sister act like that around someone else, if I hadn't known any better I would have thought that you two have been together for a while now!"

Rai didn't seem to care about the love life of his sister. He seemed to have other matters on his mind. Connor on the other hand had a look of sadness in his eyes before shaking his head and throwing his thoughts at the back of his mind.

Connor: "I am going to go cultivate come on Rai let's go and practice and leave these two alone for a bit."

Connor quickly pulled Rai away as he looked back at Jake before sighing and heading out to the backyard with Rai in tow.

Jake: "They are gone… should we talk about what happened… or would you like to just put it to the back of your mind and try to talk about something else?"

Yuki: "NO! I don't want to just forget but… but I don't know what is going on at the moment. I've never just walked up and caressed someone like that before!"

When she heard his words she couldn't help but spring up off the couch and look at him while basically yelling those words.

Jake: "Ok… well then I suggest you figure out your feelings before they send you directly into the mouth of the lion in his den. I may not have known you for long but I will just say I will not reject a beauty who wants to throw herself into my bed."

With those words he looked her in the eyes with a serious expression on his face. His green eyes looking into hers as traces of loneliness could be felt coming from the man as he slowly passed her on his way to his room.

Jake: "If you still have the courage to follow me and the will to want to be by my side then you should follow me. If you are still thinking about it and can't decide at the moment then take your time. I shouldn't be going anywhere anytime soon."

Jake had been floating in space and burnt alive for what was most likely millions of years. He felt nothing but loneliness during those times, even the pain did not hurt him as much as the loneliness in his heart. When he got to this world he made a silent promise to himself to surround himself with the people who truly love and care for them.

At that moment he walked into his room leaving the door open behind him.
