Annoying boss fight

Coughing out water, I jumped as far away from the sea to the nearby reef.

Just where I was standing a second ago, a gigantic sea monster came up and shut its jaws shut, creating a shockwave.

Now is the time.

Quickly running and leaping to it, I smashed open its front teeth and got inside its mouth.

Grabbing my twin swords, I tied my wrist to the handle part and stabbed the swords to the inside of its neck, and felt the monster's skin being ripped off as I descended to its stomach.

*Bam*

Goddamnit, it went back into the sea again.

The change in balance caused me to get thrown off, and hold on to the swords as the saltwater pushed and pulled me around.

I can't damage him further... I won't be able to retrieve its body if it sinks to the bottom of the sea after it dies, and there's a low chance of me being able to swim out to the land in that situation.

I need to get out.

But first... I have to do what I came here for.

Pulling out one sword and stabbing it further, I did the same with the other sword, using one sword to hang on while using the other to move further ahead.

Every time I stabbed it, it shook more violently, and I almost lost my grip on the sword once.

Good thing I had my wrists tied to them. If not for that, I would have become an easy prey to the monster.

Not that I would have gotten hurt anyways. However, I would have lost my breath quickly and would have been put in a dangerous situation. The mask blocks the water but doesn't provide oxygen.

Poseidon didn't seem to want to help. He wouldn't want to deal with Hera's fury, whether he counted that as annoying or dangerous.

And after all, he's the one who sent this monster here.

Ah, here it is.

The monster's stomach.

Carefully analyzing the spots and the degrees, I found a perfect spot to stab one of the swords in.

Enduring the shaking of the monster, I used my hand and the remaining sword to climb out of the disgusting inside of the monster.

After I reached its mouth, I went out using the pathway I made by breaking its teeth, and grabbed its nostrils.

Using it to climb up and resist the strong current of the sea, I sliced one of its eyes with my sword.

Due to the blood covering its views temporarily, it shouldn't be able to see me for a short while.

Ascending from underwater, I used all my strength to swim up as quickly as possible.

Seeing me almost reaching the surface after the blood was cleared out, it swam toward me with such force, that it may have created whirlpools with its fins and tail.

Watching it charge toward me, I smiled under my mask.

All according to my plans.

Climbing up to the reef and jumping to another one just in time for the monster to let loose from the water like a whale, I took out my bow from my back and lined my sword to it.

In the short moment when it opened its mouth to crunch my body, I fired the sword from the bow and jumped away.

Entering its stomach through the neck, the sword reflected off from its pair which I stuck in not too long ago, and impaled its inside.

Blocking my ears off from the roar it made, I moved to its head.

"Now, due to the pain... You won't be able to move."

And with that, I brought my fist down to its head.

-A day earlier-

I received a quest that had me fight the Cetus of Troy, otherwise known as the Trojan Cetus.

Although fighting a sea creature would be troublesome, I was interested in going to Troy.

Even though it is small, there was still a chance of me participating in the Trojan War later on. If that were to happen, it wouldn't hurt to take a look at the whole landscape. I also just wanted to apologize to Oenone...

The last time I met her, I appeared out of nowhere, yelled at her, and shouted at her to make a cure for the poison of the Hydra... Not a really great first impression.

I should just apologize for that.

After arriving at Troy, I let Buck loose in the wild to fly and eat some birds after we received our grand welcome from the Trojan people.

Buck can't swim, so I should just let him take a rest for this one. He's had it rough, acting as my own personal taxi.

After going to Oenone's house and apologizing, I had a look at the sea area where the Cetus usually resided with the King of Troy.

"He usually remains here... I ask you, please defeat that monster for us. For all of Troy."

I kind of felt some pressure after hearing that from the King, but I wasn't too worried.

"You know what? Let me battle it first. I want to know how it fights."

(5 Minutes later)

"Can you... can you just stop disappearing into the ocean?! I can't even use my blessing on you... How strong do you have to be to resist the pulling of a whirlpool?!"

I can't aim my spear well due to it being underwater, and it jumps out and destroys any footing I have...

When I'm underwater, I can't move as fast. That's why I'm avoiding it rather than fighting it... Long-range attacks don't really work, as well as close-combat ones.

It's like an annoying boss that destroys your footing every five seconds and goes under when you try to attack it.

After returning to the city, I thought of how to defeat that monster while munching on some grapes.

Mm... yummy.

My appetite was soon destroyed after seeing a disgusting parasite inside a bug.

Feeling disgusted, I checked my grapes to see if there were any bugs inside.

Wait.

Parasite... Inside...

That's it.

If I can't destroy it from the outside, I'll just get eaten and attack it from the outside.

After buying top-quality ropes, I went to the area of the Cetus and tied a bow to my back, with my twin swords sheathed.

Here I go.

-Present time-

"N-no way..."

"He actually did it..!"

"He defeated the Cetus!!!"

"We're saved!"

"Hallelujah!!!"

"What does that mean? Hooray!"

Walking up to the King, I simply said:

"Give me food."

Gosh, I'm hungry.

A/N: I'm back.

Well... I wouldn't upload as frequently as before, but... I just want to say that I'm back.

From now on, I dedicate this whole story to my friend, who was like a brother to me.

I hope you're reading this story from the Throne of Heroes, because you were my Number one hero. One and only.
