Kali's eyes glowed with a hint of blue, the endless rain that started pouring from the darkening sky. Little by little, her mana was depleting, but she had enough to last for a long while. She didn't train all her life for nothing.
The citizens watched from the window, fear could be shown in their expressions. In their lifetime of living in Magnolia, they've never experienced a disaster this horrifying.
Suddenly, there was a loud alarm that resounded throughout the city. A voice could be heard along with the loud alarm.
"Citizens! Seek shelter immediately! There seems to be a disaster caused by an evil shelter. Remember, do not leave your shelter, help is on the way!"
After hearing the announcement, the citizens felt at ease knowing they would be saved from the disaster. Most of all, they were at ease because of Fairy Tail, the guild that has saved their home countless times. They were filled with faith.
Juvia realized what was going on quickly and immediately turned to Gajeel.
"Gajeel! Attack her as much as possible! Fairy Tail is on their way! We need to stall her." Juvia said.
"Tsk, I'll beat her before the others come! HAHAHA! LET'S DO THIS!" Gajeel shouted with determination.
Kali glanced at the two, once again, their spirits were through the roofs. Their perseverance was truly admirable, coming at her despite knowing they couldn't do anything.
"I see, you're waiting for your friends to arrive, huh? You're here to try to delay me as much as possible." Kali said, easily seeing through their plans. "Just so you know, it won't work."
"It doesn't matter if it doesn't work. No matter what, we're not giivn up!"
"What she said!"
Kali laughed. "Then try, I'll at least commend you all for your bravery."
With that said, the two charged at Kali with nothing on their mind except for delaying her as much as possible.
A huge wall of water surrounded Kali, it was just within range so that the wind wouldn't slice it apart. This rendered Kali unable to see her surroundings, she could only see the sky above her.
When the wall went down, Gajeel was being held in the air by a pillar of water. However, his appearance was different. His skin was covered with steel and his eyes seemed to be red.
"Iron Dragon's Roar!"
The same attack was blasted towards her, however, it had much more force and was more powerful than before.
"Could it be of the transformation?" Kali muttered.
Suddenly, Gajeel jumped towards her which made Kali raise her eyebrow. That's when she felt something wet against her back. Kali glanced behind to see that she was being trapped in a water dome. The water had already reached her waist.
"Although your wind can counter wind, it can't counter an endless supply of water can it? You let your guard down." Juvia said.
Kali realized her mistake, she was too focused on Gajeel, and her spell that she didn't realize what was happening to her. She didn't realize that Juvia used Gajeel as a distraction.
"Although your plan worked quite well, there won't be a second time." Kali said.
She reluctantly slowed the casting of her spell to remove the water that was slowly covering her.
"Gajeel! Now!"
"Steel Dragon's Sword!"
When the two thought they had her, Kali's few words destroyed their hopes.
"As expected, the two of you are so predictable."
Suddenly, Gajeel felt a heavy kick on his stomach before flying back into the wall. Pain shot throughout his body.
"Gajeel-"
Juvia didn't have any time to worry about Gajeel when she felt a chilling sensation on her arm and leg. It had been frozen.
"Huh?"
"You should never let your guard down in a fight." Kali said. "You must've realized it by now. You can't defeat me."
""But we can!""
Kali looked behind her to see Natsu and Gray coming at her with fire and ice in their palms.
"Fire Dragon's Fist!"
"Ice-Make Freeze Lancer!"
Kali frowned, she was forced to cast the spell with one hand which slowed down the process significantly. With her other hand, she pulled out the new katana she bought the other day.
With a swift slash, both of their attacks were countered. Natsu and Gray immediately sensed danger and jumped back.
"Oh? Your battle intuitions are remarkable." Kali said, though she already knew that.
"You'll pay for this!" Natsu exclaimed the moment he saw Juvia and Gajeel.
"Oi, flame brain, calm down. This person is strong, we can't fight recklessly." Gray said.
"At least one of you is rational, but is it seriously just the two of you? Are you sure that both of you are enough?"
"Don't worry about the others, let's see if you can take on the two of us." Gray said. "Let's do this! Ice-Make Hammer!"
"Fire Dragon's Roar!"
"How troublesome, it's all useless." Kali said as she negated both of her attacks. She knew all their abilities like the back of her hand.
Kali started to wonder if the Phantom Lord incident made them stronger at all. At the moment, they didn't display any sign of becoming stronger.
"Is that all you two have? It's getting quite boring you know?"
"Dragon Slayer's Secret Art. Crimson Lotus! Fire Dragon's Fist!"
"Ice-Make Death Scythe!"
A large scythe appeared and Natsu's hands were lit ablaze. Kali could feel the heat from where she was standing.
"Maybe I spoke too soon." Kali murmured to herself.
Gray jumped into the air, when he was high enough, he swung his giant scythe in Kali's direction.
Kali decided to screw it all, she put all her force into her blade to stop the attack from damaging her. Once the weapons made contact with each other, they both shattered like glass.
Kali instantly turned around and saw that Natsu was already swinging his ablaze fist towards her. She knew she couldn't dodge, so instead, she caught Natsu's fist.
Instantly, a burning sensation filled Kali's hand and pain shot up her arm. There was also a fiery explosion causing Kali's hands to hurt even more.
"Huh?" Natsu was confused and shocked at Kali. He didn't expect her to grab his hand.
"You're distracted." Kali said as she sent a punch to Natsu's face. She glanced at her arm to see blood flowing down and dripping onto the floor. There were burn marks everywhere.
Kali looked up into the sky and saw that the spell was almost done.
"Haha! It's close!" Kali said with a grin.
"I'm still standing, you know!" Gray shouted. "Ice-Make Fireworks!"
Kali frowned and felt a different emotion stir inside her.
"Disappear! Instant Ice Manifestation!"
With a swipe of her hand, a huge pillar was created, and was directed towards Gray. It was too fast for Gray to even dodge, he was sent flying into the rubbles near Natsu.
Kali's breathing started to turn heavy, she could tell something was wrong.
