Chapter 19: Trying Out The First Time

The grass fields began to sweep through the breeze, the grass was soft as snow and the sky was as blue as beauty...

It felt calming and relaxing at the same time... but i doubt that i will have enough time to relax..

The monsters steps were as loud as the breeze, and each screech was much louder.

'WHAT KIND OF SOLUTION IS THIS!!??'

I thought as i ran through the fields, obviously panicking, as the monster chased me loudly.

I looked up to the skies, only to see kwan jihu staring at me coldly, signaling to fight it back.

'WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS!!??'

I panicked expressionlessly as i thought.

A few minutes earlier....

"we both should run."

Kwan jihu spoke coldly like usual.

"Run..?" I tilted my head with the tip of my hair resembling a question mark.

"..Why can't you defeat it?"

I asked as i began to sweat from nervousness.

As the monster slowly got out of the hole, it fell right on the ground, and formed a huge hole from the monster's impact and gravity.

"I can defeat it." Kwan jihu spoke.

"So why aren't you trying to kill it!?"

I asked in a panic, while not being able to make an expression.

"You didn't help me kill one of those smaller creatures didn't you?" Kwan jihu stared at me as he spoke.

'uhhh...'

I was quiet for a while as i stood.

Suddenly, the ant queen screeched!

The monster finally made a move after it stood for a few seconds.

I think it was trying to relax itself to get more strength or something...

As the ant queen began to move, kwan jihu took my arm and ran out through the tunnels.

Kwan jihu ran so fast that my jacket almost got ripped apart from the speed.

'But...now that i think about it...'

Ever since the start of our group project, our teacher allowed us to wear atleast anything as long as it is appropriate to going dungeons.

I don't remember much of anything in the novel, but i vaguely do remember that kwan jihu wore a suit inside his cloak.

For me, i only wore a jacket with pants on.. usually what i wore at home and at the dorm.

But...

I don't think this is the time to think about clothing cause...

Were getting chased by a mutant ant!!!!!

The ant queen began to chase us, destroying each wall inside the tunnels, it made such a huge impact that kwan jihu had to avoid most of the rocks that were falling while still grabbing me by the arm.

'It.. hurts...'

I thought as i felt dull pain from the arm kwan jihu was grabbing.

Finally, we got out of the cave, but it didn't end there yet.

Suddenly, the system appeared and began to load and replied to random directions in front of me.

The ant queen broke the front entrance of the cave and screeched loudly once more.

I began to cover my ears from the loud impact so i could save my mana at least.

Kwan jihu, who was still grabbing my arm, finally released it and spoke coldly;

"Run and follow me."

'What do you mean by that!!? do you have no shame at all!!?? You grabbed my arm so tightly it almost broke my bones!!!'

I thought as i complained inside my head while not being able to make an expression.

Although kwan jihu grabbed my arm, i was glad and relieved when he released it. I mean, if he grabbed my arm any longer, I'm extremely sure my bones will break.

I began to run throughout the jungle, following kwan jihu to 'who knows where!'

The system was also helping me aswell, directing directions that matches where kwan jihu was.

[ Go left! ]

The system replied.

The Ant Queen began to speed up more and more, making the monster's speed much more faster then usual.

I had no choice but to use my mana to upgrade my speed, I'm so lucky that i was taught how to speed up more using mana despite being a healer, without it, i would've died a looong time ago. ( recalling memories from the time kim didn't make it to his dorm because of the curfew rule. )

Kwan jihu began to turn into different directions.. fast, apparently whenever i tried to look away, he immediately vanished from his original position. luckily, the system was helping me find him just by replying which direction jihu was going.

[ Go right! ]

'k!'

As we began to take turn to different directions as the monster began to follow us, we finally stood upon a field.

A field which has no trees, no leaves and only grass on the ground.

'What the... I didn't expect there is a huge field here.. i thought there would only be trees and vines in this dungeon...' I thought as i looked around the great field.

As we ran through the fields, kwan jihu immediately jumped to the skies, and stood unto a bone-like head which is somehow floating in the sky.

'Huh?'

I was confused.

"Now it's your turn." Kwan jihu spoke loudly so i could hear him.

"Huh!? what do you mean my turn!?" I spoke loudly.

Suddenly, the ant queen finally arrived at the green fields and screeched once again.

"GAHHHH!!"

I stood for a while, the panic made me realized what kwan jihu was telling me.

"You mean...I'm going to kill..... THAT!?"

I spoke as my eyes widened and pointed at the monster who was still screeching.

"Yes." He spoke coldly.

I felt my soul almost leaving my body after he spoke.

I shooked my head and stared at the monster.

'I can't defeat that! I'm only a C-rank healer!!, i haven't even gotten the chance to go to that new cafe yet!!!'

I thought as i ran as fast as i could.

The creature began to chase me and screeched at the same time.

We ran for a while as the creature chased after me with great speed.

The speed was much greater than the speed I'm using, and the creature was almost catching up to me.

'Mom...Dad... if i ever die, thank you for adopting me in this life!!!' I thought carelessly and expressionlessly.

[ Jeez.. Your at it again!!! ]

The system appeared and replied.

'What am i supposed to do then!!??'

I thought to the system.

[ Just use you're new skills! ತ⁠_⁠ʖ⁠ತ ]

'Skills... Oh yeah!'

Because of what had happened just earlier, i completely forgot about the updated skills i got inside that cave!

'But the problem is... I forgot how to use them!!'

I thought densely.

[ Wha- this stupid idiot has the mind of a goldfish!! ]

'I'm sorry!!'

I thought carelessly as i apologized to the system.

I stood for a while and looked back at the monster, the monster was already in a close distance.

'If i had known this would happen, I would've trained myself to get stronger..'

I thought carelessly.

I corrected my position and moved my body to a proper posture.

I looked at the monster with widened eyes and yet somewhat made an expressionless expression.

'Activate..Please activate...'

I begged.

Suddenly, a red screen appeared.

[ Quest! ]

[ Defeat the ant queen! time: ]

[ None ]

[ Reward; 25 VS ]

[ Punishment; death from the ant queen ]

[ ]

'Huh- a quest!?'

'I meant to activate my skill, not make a quest!!!'

'And why is the screen entirely different from the system!? and why is the punishment so harsh?!'

I thought.

Suddenly, the monster screeched again, This time, i needed to hurry!!

'Ugh i don't have enough time for this!'

I took out my hand and pointed at the monster, shooting random music symbols at the monster.

Obviously, the monster only took small damage, but its enough to distract it entirely.

The monster screeched.

My 2 years experience at the school was able to improve my skills, along with getting a lot of mana in the process. I should at least be able to shoot lots of music symbols despite giving only a small amount of damage.

'But for now, i need to distract the ant queen.'

'No more forgetfulness, no more distraction, and no more stupidity even tho it happens inside my head once in a while.'

'It's time to get serious!'

As i continued to shoot random symbols at the monster for distraction, a red screen appeared in front of me once more

[ Skill activation; Music of ones battle... ]

'Huh..?'

[ Skill activated! Taking -8 VS ]

( VS - Vocal sounds )

'Skill and take- what!?'

Suddenly, everything turned red.

My eyes began to glow, it no longer resembles a plain black color... but a red glow that is colored in pigeon blood ruby.

'Oh...'

'So this is what it felt like...'

I thought as i remembered the incident from the banquet.

Kwan jihu, who was still watching me, noticed the sudden change i had and moved a bit closer to see.

The change i had wasn't in much difference, the only thing changed is the color of my eyes, which is glowing suddenly right now.

Suddenly, vague beats began to play, mana began to form into 2d sound waves, along with particles resembling music notes.

Lyrics began to appear above my head;

[ Lyrics loading....Complete! ]

I looked to my right;

Time flow calculation; [ Flow of time; slow.. ]

It was calculated depending on the song chosen. { something that can slow or fasten the time in the user's area based on the beats of the music. }

I looked to my left;

Volume percentage; [ 0... ]

The number is based on how much louder or silent the song it can get, depending on the song chosen.

'Na...ni!!???'

Confusion filled within my thoughts.

'What-'

I looked at the ant queen, it wasn't moving.

It's like the flow of time stopped at this moment.

'???????????????????'

Confusion filled even more.

Suddenly, the red screen that appeared a few minutes ago, appeared again.

'Huh..?'

I read through the texts in confusion.

'Pick..a song?'

I thought silently.

I began to recognize each song i read.

'Hold on...'

I thought as my memories began to vividly appear.

'Aren't these.... my music videos from my past life!?'

I thought dumbfoundedly.

Music videos which i made from my past life, gotten viral through out the enternet.

Remember when i used to be a music artist? Will, i got mediocre fame throughout my enternet life.

I had a lot of views but its not that too much.

Everything in my life there went ok.

Until someone blamed me for plagiarism.

'I got nice views.'

I thought as i looked through my phone expressionlessly.

I looked through my likes and views on my newest video that i posted.

'Wow already gotten 17k views!? even though i posted it just an hour ago.. nice!'

I thought as the tip of my hair moved and wiggled in enjoyment.

'And my likes... Hold on, How come i have alot of dislikes...?' I thought silently.

I decided to check on the comments while thinking if the music i made is bad or something is wrong with it.

I checked, and i stood for a while.. stunned and hurt from peoples comments.

"You copied this!"

"Isn't this plagiarism?"

"Don't copy someones hardwork like that!!"

"Ewww who the heck makes music like this?"

"Quiet! Die! Quiet!"

My enjoyment and excitement on the tip of my hair vanished instantly.

'Plagiarism..?'

I tried to fix the situation by explaining that i didn't copy onyones work.

"I don't believe you!"

"You copied this work from ------!"

'What..?

Suddenly, the views gotten more more but the likes gotten lesser.

The comment section was filled with blame and hatred.

It began to hurt my chest and suddenly lost the little bits of confidence i had.

'I didn't plagiarize i swear.....'

'This song is definitely my original...'

I thought.

I yawned deeply while my chest began to hurt much more, and my mental state got a bit hurt aswell.

I shook my head.

'I think it's time to get more groceries, the fridge is almost empty on veggies and tuna..'

I thought.

It was in the middle of the night, i had to get more food by tomorrow or i won't be able to cook for breakfast.

I took my jacket and went outside.

It was cold and breezy but i couldn't help but sigh deeply.

I walked to the small market, it wasn't that far but it wasn't that close either.

I walked through the streets and the alleyways until i made it there.

There was a fair of people around outside and inside the small market.

It is the middle of the night after all.

I check my phone once again, it was already 1 pm.

'...'

I went inside the market and bought veggies and other stuff.

'It's a good thing that i could be able to afford these... but I'm not sure if i had a lot of money in my bank account for the next one.. oh will...'

I thought as i looked through my bag.

As i got out of the market, i began to look through my phone once more.

'These notifs are so annoying these days...'

Because of the music video i posted, it got viral in a bad way, thats why i had alot of notifs suddenly.

I sighed deeply again, hurting mentally at the same time.

I walked through the streets and crossed a road.

I put my phone back to my pocket.

'I'll try to solve this problem tomorrow.'

As i began to cross a road, a car with really high speed crashed into me, making the street lights and the road completely destroyed.

Along with it is a truck also following and crashing at the car within the same fast speed.

It was really hard to breath in this situation, the people around the road at the time panicked.

'Oh... i haven't even fixed my problem and yet....'

I didn't think anymore, i was already unconscious... i couldn't move because of the dull pain..

'I guess that's how life is gonna be...'

Afterwards, everything blanked.

Everything was way too sudden at the time, I only did loads of covers of music videos and getting a fair amount of views and likes, just so i can make a lot of official music videos like these and yet i was blamed for plagiarism.

It hurt me mentally, and it broke my self-esteem.

I didn't really know what to do at the time.. but it was only a long time ago.

-Back to current situation-

'These songs...aren't these mine..?'

I hesistated for a while.

'I guess i have no choice then.'

I thought.

I decided to pick a random song.

Suddenly the time calculation turned back to normal after picking a song.

[ Time calculation; Normal ]

Suddenly, the monster screeched once more and finally made its move to attack.

The attack had a lot of damage but somehow.. i was able to avoid it.

"GAHHHHHH!!!"

'Woah! That was fast!! how did i avoid that!?'

I thought, stunned at the amazing speed.

Suddenly, i felt the increase of strength and energy, along with the speed.

The music began to play at a slow and medium tone...

[ Flow of time; normal ]

I looked down at my foot then to the creature standing in front of me.

I began to start with an expression of seriousness, an expression based on my emotions for the first time.

My eyes began to glow red even more.

'Alright...'

'Lets get this started.'
