Relaxing in Osoi'ishi Village

The following day Ryo was walking around the village, which he had just found out from Yuriko was supposed to be called Osoi'ishi, something he found funny. After all, the name literally meant "slow life".

As he walked by, he caught sight of three people he knew from his first week in this apocalyptic world. These people were none other than Kyoko, Ichiro and Alice. Kyoko and Ichiro were walking with Alice in between them, grabbing both their hands. When they spotted Ryo, Alice sprinted towards him and hugged his leg tightly.

"Ryo nii-chan!" she exclaimed, full of excitement at seeing Ryo again. She, much like everyone else that knew him, wanted to greet him the previous day when he arrived. Alas, they thought against it -Alice being ordered not to-, since the situation was pretty serious. "Nii-chan! Now I have another okaa-san!"

Ryo, knowing full well what the girl meant, picked her up in his arms and walked towards the new couple.

"I'd say I'm surprised but I saw you two talking a lot since the moment you met" Ryo said while he put Alice down and brought both Kyoko and Ichiro in for a hug. Alice, who was in the center of the hug, just laughed in happiness.

"Yeah... I kinda just happened, you know?" Ichiro said as he looked at Kyoko and gave hera soft smile. Kyoko returned it while explaining how they made the choice. "I wanted to have children, but I never got a serious relationship for that. Ichiro treated me extremely well and Alice was just so cute... I kinda fell in love with both of them"

Ichiro then explained that for him, since is wife had been in America doing business when everything happened, he had already assumed the worst. As such, he simply decided to go with it, since Kyoko was a very nice woman once you got to know her.

"I'm very glad to see that you are both fine and little Alice is just as lively as ever" he said before squatting and patting Alice's head. "You better keep behaving like good little lady"

After that they continued walking, catching up on what had happened in the time Ryo and the girls had been away from Tokonosu City. Apparently, besides the Panderers, a few other gangs had taken ove a few areas in the City. They weren't anything that Ryo actually cared about, but it was annoying to know. Ryo though that it would be good if those group were Yakuza, since they were more honorable and organized than regular citizens or outright criminals and thugs.

"Ryo!" "Ryo-kun!" he heard two voices call his name with the sound of footsteps coming closer to him. Kawamoto Chie and Misuzu Ichijou were approaching at a very fast pace, looking glad to see him again. Seeing them both alive made him sigh in relief, since that meant that the people that had left the school with him were all safe. "How are you doing, Chie and Misuzu?"

"We're actually doing great now!" Chie answered for them both. Ryo observed them a bit more closely and realized they had dirt under their nails, and their hands were also a bit dirty, so he made a comment based on that. "Have you two been working?"

A bit embarrassed that a man had seen their dirty hands, they hid them behind their back before answering quickly.

"Yugo-san and Aki-san asked for help in making a good cultivating area" Misuzu said, before stopping to take a breath. Chie continued for her. "So we decided to give it a try, since it sounded fun"

"Well I'm happy to see that in spite of everything" Ryo said, oblivious to the small smile that appeared on his face. "You all managed to keep a positive outlook"

After spending a few more minutes talking with his "old" friends and comrades, Ryo reached the house where he and the girls where staying. It was the house of the Major, and it was a building with enough rooms for 10 people. Once inside, Ryo could see Rika having a drink, Yuriko writing something down in a notebook, Saya accounting the stock of things, Saeko polishing the Murata-Tou and Rei arranging a few decorations. He then senses Shouko in the kitchen, Shizuka napping in on of the rooms and Miku and Kururu in the former's room -whatever they were talking about, Ryo somehow didn't want to know- and lastly, Hiratsuka who was on the roof smoking.

"Yuriko, any idea on how to improve the village?" Ryo asked as soon as he sat down, taking a beer from behind a counter and cooling it with his power. The milf just sighed before looking at him. "Many, but no resources"

"Well, that problem has an easy solution" he said before taking a good swig out of his beer. Seeing the girls expectant to hear his solution, he chucked awkwardly before answering. "We are surrounded by a forest, first of all. And second, the city isn't far away so metal and other stuff isn't hard to get"

In a weird occurrence, Saeko stopped polishing her blade to come closer to him. She hugged him from behind and spoek in his ear.

"Dear... can just the two of us go?" she said before pressing her boobs on his back even tighter than before. "I want to have a date like before..."

Ryo thought about it for a while, before realizing that he had to go on a proper date with most of the girls. He knew that Rika, for example, didn't really care about that stuff. But Hiratsuka, Shizuka, Saya and Rei probably did. Even Saeko just showed a weird moment of feminine wishes. With such a thought he decided to postergate his date with Saeko for later.

"Another time, ok?" he said as he turned around. After giving her a short peck, he continued. "The others also need a special moment"

"That's ok... but now you have to take me later" she said before letting go of him. He just smiled warmly. He felt extremely happy every time he saw just how understanding and loving his girls were. Looking over at Rei and Saya, he spoke to them both. "So Rei or Saya, who wants to go first?"

What he witnessed next looked like it had been taken straight out of an anime. Both girls stared at each other with sparks forming between them, before bringing their hands behind their backs. Yuriko acted as a referee and counted to three. On three, both girls showed their hands, with Saya having chosen paper and Rei scissors.

"The winner is Rei, and so she will have the first date" Yuriko declared. Saya fell on her knees while acting sad, and Rei made a pose of superiority that would make Wuxia protagonists ashamed. Everyone looked at each other and soon they began laughing. Ryo spoke while trying not to laugh too loud. "Was all of that even necessary?!"

Right after that, Shouko came out of the kitchen and signed to say food was ready. Since they had seen the same signs a thousand times, everyone understood perfectly. Of course, that was besides the fact that they all had been studying sign language ever since Shouko came to the camp, since they all wanted to make the girl feel at home. Ryo went to get Hiratsuka from the roof and quickly came back to eat with everyone.

The next morning, Ryo was going to check on the progress that Aki and Yugo had made with the farming plot. On the way he met with Yugo, so they walked towards it while conversing casually.

"Is there anything you guys need to make this more comfortable?" Ryo asked as they got closer.

He could see how the earth had been rid of weeds and grass, the earth had been moved and even a perimeter had been made in the area. It looked big enough to feed a few families for a while, but clearly it wasn't enough for everyone in the village. Yugo stopped by the perimeter they he and Aki made before answering.

"With a plot this size, which is more accurately called a garden" he began saying before looking at the are that was left without use. "Nothing really. But if we want to expand this, we need tools"

After a while of catching up, Ryo had a list of everything they needed. The priorities were food and tools, while second in the list where barebed wire, wooden planks and other building materials they could use for fencing. Ryo didn't mind staying in the village and protect the area this time, because he was sure that -since mutations and evolutions were rare- the incident that ruined the Estate wouldn't happen again any time soon. And by the time it did, they would be ready.
