Chapter: Encountering a New World

There are countless calamities around the world and every year few hundred thousand people die. But that calamity was the one calamity that changed everything.

Flashback 5 years ago

(Crack)

"Aaaaah!"

Everyone was looking at the sky. Someone may ask why and the answer to that would be that there was a huge crack in the sky. Black mist was seeping through and it did not take long for the sky to be covered in the mist.

The people felt a gust of wind hitting their faces and the mist parted and they heard a loud screech

(ZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA)

Just then a wyvern flew through the mist and landed on a building and breathed out fire burning down the building.

"AAAAAH"

"RUN, THE EARTH IS GOING TO END "

Everyone started to run as more monsters started to seep through. The government started to retaliate but they weren't successful, the tanks and jets only damaged the lower-level monsters and they were bought down. The civilians were transferred to the nearest bunkers and the government launched several bombs but couldn't damage the upper-tier monsters.

But some people in reaction to this new event started to feel something change in their body. Their body was reacting to the mana in the air, and some people fell to the ground while foam was coming out of their mouths. It seemed that not everyone could react to the mana positively.

A few days later many people started to feel mana and changes appeared in their bodies. The changes were that their body were more resilient, resistant and unbreakable to anything normal. These were people who were later known as 'Hunters'.

These awakened started to fight back the monsters and brought the situation under control.

Elsewhere

"Mom, Dad, I am home " The young child entered his home and walked into the living room. He did not get a response back so he shouted again "Mom, Dad?" he walked into his parent's room. But then he saw something which would scar him for the rest of his life.

Flashback over

A young man was running through the pathway and as he reached his destination, we could see that a portal was opened there. It seemed otherworldly and actually, it was. This portal connected the Earth to the otherworld which was named Elysian. This world was a parallel to ours but it was filled with monsters instead of humans.

"Kei, Over here!"

The young man who was Kei Nakamura walked towards his friend in a hurry. "Did the briefing about it start?" "You are fortunate enough that the captain didn't notice you weren't here during the briefing otherwise he would have chewed you up. Let's go I will brief you about the dungeon when we are in it." Zen his best friend dragged him into the portal.

Kei thought as he entered the dungeon 'With this I can finally become a C-ranked Hunter and start making enough money to treat it.'

Kei Nakamura was a young man in his early twenties he have white hair, green eyes and had sleek build. He was good-looking and he was popular in his school for his looks.

Zen Tayles was also a young man in his twenties he have black hair, and blue eyes and he also had a sleek build. He met Kei in middle school while he was competing with him in sports. They always had a rivalry amongst them but they were also like brothers. Both of them awakened and became D-ranked hunters at the age of 19. From that point, they always went into the portal together.

"This dungeon is D-rank. We would mostly fight Dreadweavers and some Lumninari Weaveants. The boss room would be the Mother of the Dreadweaver, so be careful about it. The dungeon is like a cave with the webs of the Dreadweaver spread among it."

Kei got out of Zen's grip and took out his sword and said "You are too nonchalant about this dungeon and I don't like this ." "You are always like this Kei, don't you know these are Dreadweavers, not some orcs or something. " Zen said this while his hands were at the back of his head.

Kei felt something ominous coming from within the dungeon while he was cutting down the Dreadweavers "I think something will happen today."
