Her temper - part2

She wasn't in a mood to do anything, but she came back to the study room. Because the SAT was coming whether she felt like it or not.

As the sun set, Jia found herself in the familiar study room at the educational institution. The chill air calmed her frayed nerves.

Yet, as she pored over the pages, her mind kept drifting back to the interview. She recalled the interviewer's smug expression, the way he had questioned her credentials and doubted her abilities.

She felt a pang of guilt, realizing that she had lost her composure again.

'Ji, Jia! You're not going to answer like that in a real interview, are you?'

'I'm sorry, sir...'

'It was a joke. Just keep smiling in front of them! Simple!'

But why is the simple thing so difficult for me?

She murmured to herself, shaking her head.

She blamed herself for not being able to tolerate enough. She had failed again.

As she sat there, surrounded by the familiar comforts of her study space, Jia couldn't help but feel like an outsider.

Everyone else seemed happy. Seemed content with their lives and their goals. Every single step she took, she was uphill surrounded by obstacles.

Exhaustion began to creep in, and her eyelids grew heavy. She tried to push through, but the words on the page began to blur together.

She fell asleep. Her short dream was filled with the echoes of her outburst and the weight of her own disappointment.

———

Jia's eyes snapped open as she jolted awake, disoriented by the unfamiliar darkness surrounding her.

A quick glance at the clock on the wall confirmed her shock - it was well past midnight.

'...Ugh! How much have I slept?' she murmured, hastily gathering her study materials and shoving them into her bag. She couldn't believe she had slept through the entire evening. Panic gripped her as she realized she had missed her last train home. "No! Why nobody didn't wake me up?"

Jia hurried out of the study room, her footsteps echoing eerily in the deserted school corridors. The shadows seemed to loom, the silence was oppressive. She tensed, her senses heightened as she navigated the eerie hallways.

Suddenly, a hand clamped down on her shoulder, causing her to jump with a startled yelp. Jia whirled around, coming face-to-face with a dark tall silhouette.

"Get out, now!" the strange man yelled.

Jia's eyes widened, her heart pounding. She had assumed he was just trying to scare her, but the man's harsh tone and aggressive demeanor suggested otherwise.

"I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-" she stammered, but the man cut her off.

"You're not supposed to be here!" he shouted.

Then Jia heard a voice far from the collider.

"So- Welcome to my channel! Today's horror game is-."

Jia shortly put her head on work. 'Channel? Game?'

As she reached a realization, she clenched the man's collar. "...Hey! Are you a vmer or something, huh? Here is the place for studying, idiot! Stop joking!"

"Wait, I'm not-"

Jia didn't need to be told twice. She turned and fled, her footsteps echoing as she raced down the corridor. She burst through the doors, relief flooding her as she saw the familiar figure of the institute's security guard.

"Oh thank goodness, you have to help me! I'm locked here, and there's some jerks-" Jia rushed towards the guard.

But as the figure drew closer, Jia's relief turned to horror. The security guard's face was pale and sunken, his eyes glazed over. He moved with a shambling, unnatural gait, and Jia felt a chill run down her spine.

Without a moment's hesitation, Jia turned and ran, her heart pounding in her ears. She didn't know what was happening, but she knew she had to get away.

Jiahe fled. But she felt the ground disappear beneath her feet.

She was plunging into a shimmering pink abyss.

How-

Why am I falling?

Jia's scream was cut short as a massive system message appeared before her.

[Congratulations!]

Her vision was fading. So she couldn't read the messages.
