The howls of wolves echoed inside the vast forest, the moon shone upon the running young boy, he seemed anxious as the owls glared at him.
Inei cleared away the obstacles before him as he swung his Amithyst sword, the purple blade cut through trees and tall grass like hot knife through butter.
A sigh of relief escaped his lips as he stepped out of the vast and dangerous forest, dense with all sorts of carnivores, lusting for flesh and blood.
It had been 3 days after his battle with the Demon, after traveling through dangerous areas in search of shortcuts, he finally reached his destination.
In front of him was a middle-sized village, blazing in the night, illuminated by lanterns and such, his eyes sparkled as he quickly set out.
After a good hour, Inei stood at the entrance of the village, the roads were crowded with people, houses looked like there were lit on fire by the radiant lamps.
The town looked peaceful and serene, people chatted among themselves, kids ran around as they played with each other, and they looked happy, smiles as bright as the sun.
As his gaze lingered on the children, he glanced at his hands, he should have been enjoying life, should have been comfortable and happy... but here he was, hands dirty and fated to a hazardous life.
Shaking his head, Inei took out a small robe and wore it, hiding his weapon and face, he blended with the crowd and looked for trances to find any clues.
Alas, if only it were that easy, the Demon was cunning and smart, it left almost no traces... Almost.
As he entered an alleyway, he searched up every nook and corner, he sighed, another futile attempt. He was walking out of the alley, but in the corner of his eyes, he spotted something, shiny.
'What is that?'
Walked back, he picked up the object, which turned out to be a needle, tied to a thread. It was slightly bent and inflated... Like something heavy landed on its surface.
'A tailor perhaps?'
He got a clue, but the problem was that there would be countless tailors across the town, not to mention other various possibilities, it could very well be some random needle on the ground.
But the unusual shape of the needle made him very suspicious, what are the chances of a needle, as well as golden in color?
'Maybe the color can help me get some sort of lead'
He raped the needle in a cloth and kept it inside his pocket, he hoped that he would find anything related to the demon.
He tried to search for more clues, but to no avail, the Demon seemed to make sure that it left no evidence, not even blood imprints were spared.
'What a hassle'
Inei blended with the crowd to find any conversation that would pique his interest, that was not in vain as he heard something really spicey.
'ooh... my, my, what do we have here'
