6: Improvements in a month/ The Gift

The heavy snow continued falling atop the town, even so the place was bustling with activity as pedestrians paced back in forth.

A tall young man with long black hair appeared along the sidewalk, his black hair carrying a seemingly cold tinge of white hair.

In his hands layed a katana.

In this month itsuki had trained like never before, while also helping out at the orphanage.

He had managed to catch many animals after his strength raised, ranging from bunnys, rabbits, large birds, he was even lucky enough to kill a hog which was roaming around his training spot.

Which itsuki used to sell for some money and then buy a decent katana, as well as a set of all black clothes with a black and white coat.

He was now 14 years old, but he looked atleast 18 years old, his height and his handsome face and breath taking hair made him stand out in the town, there was no one who didn't recognize him.

Even auntie Li was surprised at how much he was growing, he was like a completely new person during this month.

His breathing meditation on the ice breathing style also seemed to increase his leveling speed, or else he wouldn't be at this level today, it was getting too hard to surpass human limits, which was understandable.

Itsuki had managed to reach level 9, he was already far stronger than ordinary humans, although he still looked skinny, his body was filled with muscles.

And as you can tell, his 1st form was still locked, this was the only thing that had pissed him off all month, and no matter how much he had been trying since last week he just didn't seem to progress anymore with his training routine.

And even if he did progress it was at an unnoticeable amount, almost like level 10 was a boundary most people couldn't pass.

But itsuki wasn't affect, as long as he continued training he would slowly breakthrough to level 10.

Another thing he had unlocked was an [inventory] system, which could store many things, itsuki currently only had his money in there, money was useful anywhere depending on the situation.

Itsuki placed the iron katana in his inventory before walking slowly towards the orphanage, his hair blowing lightly in the wind as his face carried a beautiful smile.

The wooden door of the orphanage slowly creaked as itsuki entered and hanged his coat, he was immediately greeted by the kids who bombarded him with questions, the older ones seemed to be out playing somewhere.

"Itsuki come here" auntie Li beckons to him as she noticed his presence, she was wrapped in a blanket with a kid on her lap next to the fireplace..

"Yes auntie Li" itsuki sat in a chair next to her, he was confused.

"Your birthday was this month, and although you didn't tell me I still remembered" she smiled and pulled out a small ornament box from behind her.

"My husband used to be a very strong man, the kid capable of fighting against those supernatural beings, but even so he ended up dying at their hands, back then he told me to keep these two items on me in case a strong young man like yourself were to appear in the orphanage, I think you deserve this" auntie Li placed the box into itsuki's hands without giving him even a chance to speak.

Itsuki thanked her and didn't bother to say unnecessary things before he opened it she stopped him.

"Don't open it yet idiot, wait till you get in your room" she smiled and laughed, causing the child in her arms to wake up.

"Oh right, then thanks again, this means a lot to me" itsuki said, he truly meant it.
