Okay this is heavily inspired by the Lord of change Fanfic and me.....I'll be mixing somethings up but just roll with it......took me time. Also no I've not dropped my other works, this is just one of the stories I wrote and managed to recover and simply edited.

Chapter 17

It's been two weeks since we held that position. We were reinforced by an additional platoon luckily allowing us to hold the position. 7 of us remained and were order to fall back to HQ for reassignment and resupply.

We were reassigned and reorganized into other squads before being assigned to a new platoon and awaiting orders. Orders which were poised to come very soon as a big push would be inevitable.

Krieg high command upon consideration their current position began Operation Stone Wall. Alpha Company 07 and 08 were to secure any and all strays within the Subsectors of sector 3-4.

Contact with Alpha Company 09 was not in fact re established causing a major gap within the Operation. With no info and path provided into the heart of the city, the Death Korps were going into unwanted territory.

In a darkness of the sky, thousands of Kreig troopers poured into the city Opertion Heavy cleared the was for their artillery and tanks to roll in and support their infantry attacks.

Once more they gained the momentum, pushing in deep and ruthlessly slaying any and all whom were ot recognized as one of them. It became apparent to some in high command what had happened to the citizens of this city.

Though such information shall stay within the Death Korps, out of reach from outsiders and those seeking to have it. With a mixture of artillery bombardment and thousands of krieg units swarming into the city.

Anything deemed 'hostile' was leveled, burnt and systematically wiped without trace. Resistance was met but quick dealt with as time was of the essence. The Death Korp has also intercepted messages from the heretics urging their allies out of the city to come to their aid.

The responses was concerning as large amounts of them quickly speed up their arrival. With the risk of having their advance getting foiled and stopped they committed most of their troops in, leaving their rear lines stretched thin.

Few Companies was left to hold those, a total of 7 companies was assigned to hold. Short of 1 company to complete it towards being a regiment. No heavy armour was given as support, long range artillery was available but limited.

They had mines and barbwires in place and around. A Primary headquarters had been created, with the leaders of each company either in it or communicating with it.

Officer 6778-5678-5677-78krane stood still in the main primary headquarters established for then to hold their rear lines and prevent a breakthrough that could hamper the main assault.

He was moved up the rank fairly faster than was normally allowed but that was mainly due to their increased losses and the on going battle. He was one of the three aids to his captain.

In charge of Company 02 of Regiment 189. They were positioned on Sector 1-07 which was the northern part of the city. Mostly barren and flat, ideal for tanks and such.

The dead bodies and war decorated fields could be easily cleared and maneuvered around if need be but it also provided the ideal ambushing sites or at least the best for now.

With their numbers, trying the standard tactic would cause us to be wiped out faster than we needed so we advanced deeper. Command has order the engineers to be creating tunnels as we also advanced the trench lines.

....[ Weeks Later ].....

Soggy and muddy, Mushy and wet. Force upon it's soft surface causes it to bend under the pressure until it's tightly packed enough to reject that force. It's won, forcing the cause of the force away, bits and traces of it staying and following that cause.

This, repeated in the hundreds upon hundreds. Sounds of humans moving through the heavy rain, racing against time and death.

In the few weeks the Death Korp of Krieg began their attack, the expected enemy arrived in full force. Several Regiments still available had already begun their new assignments. Circling them from behind.

Those that stood directly in their way, were forced to bear the brunt of the attacks. Lasting just mere weeks in the lower number, their tactics were simple. Overwhelm them with numbers and move straight into the city.

There were reports of the heretics behaving berserk and unstable, rushing without mind of their own lives. Back towards the main city bearing the force of several regiments of the Death Korps.

Their trench lines and troops set in place to hold the lines were quickly fading away due to the numbers of unrelenting assaults that had come their way.

The idea of an organized defense line was non existence as that had collapsed weeks ago. Now they simply fought to hold them back, the assault into the city proved easier than originally expected allowing for the redeployment of more troops back to the rear.

Death riders streamed across the battlefield, disrupting the enemy and creating gaps in their ranks. Most were suicide missions as few escaped away from the hoard of heretics.

Most mines had already been cleared by their bodies, even shelling their own position to hold it was only prolonging the inevitable. They had however received word that two more regiments were going to force their way through the enemy to reinforce their position.

So all they had to do was wait and hold for 1 more week. A task that would prove to be.....challenging.

" 1st Platoon, hold this position. " A muffled voice came out loud, stern and serious. He facial expressions hidden as his lasgun spoke for him.

Turning, the trooper shot. Missing as the beam simply glanced the heretic, it did however it another way in the back. He adjusted his aim, and fired once more.

Popping the fairly unprotected head of the heretic, then he moved. Little movements, little space in between and fired. His shot puncturing deep into the shoulder of a heretic.

He screamed and fell, grabbing his shoulder in pain as it's flesh became all Mushy and burnt. A huge gaping hole opening up as air rushed into it.

Rather than finishing this particular heretic, he turned to another running his way and fired. Killing him with a single shot, then he did so again and again and again. His repetitive action scoring him dozens of kills and screams.

He heard rushed footsteps, pattern foreign and unlike those in the Korps. He turned with his weapon and came face to face with a masked man in rugged clothing.

Torn and tattered with several colors and patching, hair disheveled and long. Eyes bloodshot as death oozed around him. Beside him were similar people, muscled and big. All silent with melee weapons in hand.

They came from where Second Platoon had been tasked to guard and a single thought filled his mind. They've broken through.

" You, get me 3rd squad, tell them to relocate towards the east and hold there. Establish contact with second platoon and request reason on why the enemy have broken through to their line. " He snapped at a trooper.

" Yes sir," The trooper replied and gave a quick nod, 2 more troopers followed him and went to execute his orders.

" 8th, repel the enemy and push them back!" He said aloud, troopers already moving to meet the incoming foe within first sight.

Bayonets equipped, they moved with brute force and years of training, making short work of them whilst incuring no losses.

Quickly they established a firing line, put five troopers most forward and fire more behind. Taking cover behind the trench lines and killing any who came their way.

Those on the back were also tasked with watching their rear and helping defend their lines from the enemy. By now the bodies had already begun to fill up when a massive surge of energy went off.

Then there silence.....for but a brief second, a blinding white light traveling so fast swept across the planet and then.....there was silence.

No fighting, no shells, no screams...not even blood. Everything was gone with no trace in sight....the Imperium won.
