Chapter 171: The Amazon Warriors

A/N: Mb for the late update

°°°

The Arctic Mountains were shrouded in freezing mist.

Wonder Woman, Diana, removed the bracelets limiting her strength, adorned in the resplendent golden eagle armor. The armor, dazzling with golden radiance, hugged her delicate frame, flawlessly displaying her attractive and sensual contours.

Holding the reins of a white Pegasus, she led a disciplined troop of five hundred thousand Amazon warriors, all clad in golden armor, stopping at one end of the Arctic Mountains.

The Arctic Mountains seemed to quake with avalanches and roaring snow waves, but as if cleft by the presence of these five hundred thousand Amazon warriors, the mountains parted and split in two.

Diana, riding the white Pegasus bestowed by Olympus, tightened her legs slightly, lifted the reins, and the white horse leaped gracefully towards the blue sky. Over the Arctic skies, it exhibited an elegant and heroic golden-hued gallop, landing atop a towering peak.

Surveying the area, she witnessed the stringent technological defenses and the ceaseless patrols around the Fortress of Solitude.

"Green Lantern, are you sure your plan will work? I hope he won't be enraged enough to punch through the Arctic. You know, he only needs a gentle punch to do that."

Diana held the reins of the Pegasus, sitting gracefully on the exquisite saddle, her beautiful facial features radiating a dignified aura. Her gaze, glistening with determination, scanned the distance.

The hidden Green Lantern, Hal, appeared from the empty sky, enveloped in a faint green glow. He glanced at Wonder Woman, who exuded a combination of beauty and determination.

In the midst of their busy schedules, any man would find a moment to stop and admire such an extraordinary Wonder Woman.

"He won't. Haven't you noticed yet? He won't act against Earth, won't harm it, won't destroy it." Green Lantern glanced at Wonder Woman before redirecting his gaze towards the Fortress.

"Why?" Diana furrowed her brow, deeply perplexed by Hal's assertion.

Ever since the appearance of the Emperor of Krypton, he had showcased violence continuously.

From defeating the Justice League, killing twenty thousand soldiers in twenty seconds, annihilating nations, exterminating Mars—none of his actions spoke of anything but violence.

And now, Hal claimed he wouldn't harm Earth?

"I don't know." Hal's eyes shimmered with contemplation. He felt Earth might be somewhat unique.

Initially, when he went to Oa to seek support, he merely wanted another Green Lantern, as mutual support among Green Lanterns was a common occurrence.

On top of finding the guardians of universe, it was only hoped that they would send more Green Lanterns and some of their powerful subordinates. Unexpectedly, even this group of shorties, the cosmic guardians, dispatched two members and intended to invite the gods from Olympus to deal with the Emperor of Krypton.

The most elite cosmic protectors and gods in the universe were gathered just to confront the Emperor of Krypton. Was his influence that significant? Did it warrant the joint efforts of the top echelon of the entire universe?

After some pondering, Hal felt something was off.

Perhaps it was more about protecting Earth rather than confronting the Emperor of Krypton just because he had significant influence.

Was Earth really that special?

Hal didn't understand.

"Since we don't know, let's set it aside for now and face the upcoming war," Diana said. "I hope your open and straightforward plan will succeed."

"It will. When the Emperor of Krypton sees the Fortress of Solitude attacked by the Amazon army and his precious Superman rescued, he'll probably stomp his feet like a tantrum-throwing child," Hal replied.

Diana glanced at him.

In reality, H'el was in the command room, seated in a steel chair, his fingers lightly grazing the cold steel armrest as he watched Hal and Diana executing their plan.

As H'el's gaze flickered over the projected images of Hal and Diana, within the projection's vicinity, he sensed his psychic powers.

Jor-El was hiding within the Arctic ice sheets.

H'el had once created a psychic projection, a combination of psychic and speed force, and injected it into the body of the Flash.

Jor-El had used the Flash's speed force to activate his own Amazo atomic cells, transmitting a portion of H'el's psychic power into the atomic cells, becoming a fundamental part of sustaining his atomic cells.

"Backup of the Codex..."

H'el's gaze flickered, tempted to teleport instantly in front of Jor-El, to grab and beat him for the Codex.

But at this moment...

The strength of the two cosmic guardians was unknown, and who knew how many gods might be lurking in the shadows, likely to set up an ambush against him.

H'el suppressed his urge to act impulsively.

The Codex had been his desire for so long. He had ample determination and time to capture Jor-El; there was no need to rush.

Jor-El's body contained H'el's psychic power; he couldn't escape H'el's grasp.

"Zero, summon Karu to meet me," H'el commanded.

Previously, with the opening of the Three-Body Universe, a large amount of weaponry and supplies had arrived, outfitting Karu's legion, now fully prepared and awaiting battle.

Shortly after...

Karu swiftly flew to the door of the command room and halted, then walked inside.

"Your Majesty, the Marshal's meeting has drafted the battle plan. The Kryptonian Legion is ready for battle at any time."

Karu, solemn-faced, with a determined gaze and high morale, knelt behind H'el, offering to join the fight.

"Excellent. Let's start the first battle at the Arctic, Karu. Retrieve the research personnels from the Fortress onto the Marshal-class warship, Valiant. Abandon the Fortress of Solitude and Kal-El," H'el said, leaning against the steel chair, his gaze fixed on the projection in front of him.

Each Amazon warrior emitted a strange energy glow, with armor engraved with magical patterns unknown to H'el.

Five hundred thousand Amazon warriors formed a massive close combat magic legion, their magical light emanating powerfully.

"Your Majesty, Kal possesses the Codex! I have pledged my life to bring back the criminal, Kal!" Karu heard H'el's decision to abandon the Codex and couldn't help but react. For Kryptonians, the genetic database was crucial and irreplaceable. Even if he had to risk his last drop of blood, Karu wouldn't allow any harm to the Codex. The survival of future Kryptonians was paramount.

"No, the Codex is in my possession. Our current concern is this war, and Kal is of no significance."

"Move out and sweep away these horse-riding Amazon warriors."

"Yes, Your Majesty!"
